[Note- The Chapter may contain self-harm. You have been warned]
Nia took a deep breath as she moved toward the Princess.
"Princess..." Nia said in a soft tone. Her body was trembling. "What do you want to do with this?"
Princess Eleanor smiled as she moved her hand. Her eyes looked at the things in Nia’s hand. Princess Eleanor looked at the small fruit knife in Nia’s hand.
Nia sighed as she moved toward the Princess. Princess Eleanor took the small knife from Nia’s hand as she pointed to the rugs. "Place the rug below my legs."
Nia followed as she looked at the Princess again and again.
"Bring the perfume and boiling water too." Princess Eleanor said as she watched Nia going out.
Princess Eleanor bit her lips as she took a deep breath. The medicinal box was kept near her so Princess Eleanor took the step that was only in her mind.
Princess Eleanor took a deep breath before she held the knife in attack mode. She did not waste any time as she aimed it towards her leg as she slit it along the way.
The blood was dripping through the length as it hit the rugs which turned red. Princess Eleanor’s breathing turned rapid as she tried to bite her lips. The pain was shooting through her body as tears started to form in her body but Princess Eleanor maintained her calm.
"PRINCESS!" Nia rushed towards the Princess as the water in her hand hit the ground. Her eyes widened in shock. "It’s bleeding."
Princess Eleanor smiled despite the tears. "It’s okay Nia, just apply for the medicine."
Nia nodded her head. No words were coming out of her mouth as tears started flowing down her cheeks. Nia’s hands were clumsy but she managed to clear the wound up. Soon the wound was wrapped and many questions emerged in her mind.
Nka looked at Princess Eleanor who was biting her lips. She could feel the pain the Princess was feeling at this moment.
Princess Eleanor was kept as a treasure but now she was hurting herself. "Why?" Nia managed to say it out loud. Her eyes were shaking with a lot of questions but apart from a ’why’ she could not say anything.
Princess Eleanor took a few deep breaths. Her hands moved towards her eyes as she rubbed the tears away. "We are going to the Temple Nia. I am hurt so I need a wound."
Nia was silent. She wanted to tell the Princess that there were many other solutions but nothing came to her mind. Nia shook her head. "We could have just bandaged it. We could have applied medicine..."
Nia said all the words coming to her mind. She just wanted to tell the Princess that hurting herself was not the only way.
Princess Eleanor touched Nia’s face. She knew that her lady in waiting was worried about her. Nia was the only one who stayed with her over the time, even though she had lost her parents. Nia even followed her to her maternal family and stayed there just to take care of her.
"Nia," Princess Eleanor smiled, "When we go to the temple and the Priest asks me to show him my wound, then what would we have done? What if I do not have any wounds? They will say that I lied."
"But you did not. It was SIr Kit who said that you were injured. He was the one to spread the words out. If only he had kept his mouth shut then..." Nia was struggling to find the words. Her anger was clouding her mind.
"Nia, it is okay. It works in my favor." Princess Eleanor said in a whisper. She did not want to say it out loud but her lady in waiting still managed to hear.
"Princess, it will leave a mark. You know that if it leaves a mark then how could you become a Crown Pri..." Nia bit her lips. She could not complete her words as she saw the Princess smiling.
"I know." Princess Eleanor sighed, "But it will not leave a mark. I was careful." Princess Eleanor looked at Nia who was visibly upset. "And maybe Nia, that is what I want. Maybe I do not want to be chosen to be the ..."
Princess Eleanor did not complete the word. But she knew that Nia understood it completely. "Princess this is bad. Are you still thinking about revenge?"
Princess Eleanor took a deep breath. Her eyes stayed on Nia as she said, "But I never stopped thinking about it, Nia. They killed my parents and I could never get over it."
"But you are hurting yourself because of it," Nia said in a soft tone. She wanted to make Princess Eleanor understand that what she was doing was wrong.
"Yes, I know Nia. But I do not regret it." Princess Eleanor said. "But you know where I was coming from. You know this is important to me and to be honest, this is not even Sir Kit’s fault. He was always protecting me."
"Princess you can tell yourself that but to me, because of him you are hurt. You hurt yourself to prove his words right." Nia said as her eyes were filled with rage.
"Nia." Princess Eleanor, "I have my reason and I hope that you respect it. I will tell you once I am ready."
Nia wanted to say something more but then Princess Eleanor cut her words she swallowed hard. "Nia, burn the rugs. I do not want anyone else to know that I was injured here. I want them to think that I was injured by the people who attacked me. And I want everyone to know it. Everyone."
Nia looked at Princess Eleanor but soon she nodded her head. She took the rugs as she walked out before she was stopped by Princess Eleanor’s words.
"Nia do not forget the water and perfuse. I really need it, truly."
Nia closed her eyes but she nodded her head. She knew that she was in no position to question the Princess. All she could do was trust her and hope that the Princess shares her thoughts soon.
