The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 46: Know-It-All
Princess Eleanor looked as she saw a huge gap between the Angevin Kingdom and the Roulux Empire.
She knew that this gate was built a few centuries ago when the Empire granted the Kings to rule in a small piece of land called the Kingdom. But Princess Eleanor had never seen it. The EMpire had always been closed up and all the politics that go inside can never be talked outside.
There were a few things that everyone knew about the Empire. Some gossip cannot just stay in one place but Princess Eleanor also knew that once she entered the Empire she would be safe from the enemy but in the hands of someone else.
Sir Kit held Princess Eleanor’s back tightly as he smiled, "Do not look up. Pretend that you are sleeping and no matter what, do not look up."
Princess Eleanor could not understand what Sir Kit was getting at. She nodded her head in agreement as she rested her head on his chest. Sir Kit did not stop but the Wind speed slowed down. He walked steadily towards the gate and Princess Eleanor could feel it.
"Purpose of visit." The man asked as he saw Wind stopping at the gate. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Sir Kit did not respond but his hand went inside the coat. Although Princess Eleanor was wearing the coat, it was a little too big for her thus Sir Kit could navigate perfectly through it. It did not take him time to find the Seal as he showed it to them. His one hand was still holding Princess Eleanor.
"Who is she?" Princess Eleanor’s body stiffened at some man’s voice. Although she could not see them, she could make out that he was a guard.
Sir Kit did not say anything at first as his eyes sharpened at the guards. "This is Princess Eleanor from the Angevin Kingdom. We were attacked yesterday and she is injured and has lost her consciousness." Sir Kit did not wait for the guards to react. "I hope Lady Gisella has already informed us that as we were attacked by some knights we ran away to save the Princess’s life."
Princess Eleanor’s ears perked at Sir Kit’s words. She knew that there must be a reason he was using Lady Gisella’s words, was she that known around here?
Princess Eleanor bit her lips. She was nervous as she wanted to move but Sit Kit’s hands stopped all of her movements.
Princess Eleanor did not know what to do next. Maybe the guards do not believe Sir Kit’s words. After all, if a man comes on a horse with a lady and says that she is the Princess, no one will believe it.
Princess Eleanor was sure the guards would have the same thought but then she sensed Sir Kit moving his hand. Soon the seal was stuck in the coat as she heard the arrogant tone of the guards turn to respect. "Yes, Lady Gisella is waiting for the Princess in the Beaumont tent."
Sir Kit did not waste any more time as the male Wind walked through the gate inside the Roulux Empire.
Princess Eleanor’s body shivered. She could feel a sudden change in the climate. Suddenly everything felt hot.
"Don’t move a lot Princess, We will reach the tent soon." Sir Kit said in a small voice making sure that only Princess Eleanor will be able to hear him.
Princess Eleanor bit her lips but something was bothering her. Sir could not stop her curious mind as she asked in a whisper. "Is Lady Gisella respected a lot here?"
Sir Kit looked down at Princess Eleanor. Although the Princess did not move a lot, she could feel her restless body. He knew that something was bothering her, or maybe she was thinking too deeply about things, trying to make sense of the situation.
A smile formed on Sir Kit’s lips as he looked forward. He could now see the tent standing in the middle of the desert without any other tent beside it. It was well guarded by the Beaumont knights who stood straight looking at him coming their way.
"You can say that." Sir Kit replied, "She is one of the trusted people in the Roulux Empire. A lady is known to be aware of every secret."
"If that is the case, she must be in danger." Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes, "A know-it-all, is always in danger. What if someone tried to bury some secret forever?"
"There are people who tried but their end was not pleasant." Sir Kit said. Princess Eleanor could not figure out his tone but she knew that what Sir Kit was saying was true. Somehow she believed the man.
"Are we at 13? The tent that you ordered others to be?" Princess Eleanor asked, to which Sir Kit laughed a little.
"I like your choice of words. They are .... Uh.... interesting." Sir Kit smiled, "And yes we are here. By the way Princess, we do have guards from the royal family here too. They want to make sure that we have brought the right Princess so I advise you to fake your suffering."
Sir Kit looked down as he felt a slight movement in his arms. As soon as his eyes looked down he saw Princess Elenor’s eyes blinking at him in confusion.
Sir Kit moved his gaze in a hurry as he explained, "The guards belong to the royal family and I am sure they will inform the palace about our situation. I do not want our story to show any discontinuity."
Wind’s steps were slow as he was taking a walk on the field on the grass on a casual day. Sir Kit did not make any effort to speed up as he continued to give instructions. "Princess, you were injured and traumatized by the event. We tried to hide from the enemy all night so we couldn’t sleep. The exhaustion and trauma caught up with you and you lost your consciousness. This is the story we will follow. I hope Princess Eleanor can act through it."
