The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 188
Princess Eleanor was sitting on the bed looking at the pages in front of her eyes.
"Where did you get these from?" Princess Eleanor’s tone was filled with confusion and fear. She did not want to show her true feelings but the confusion in her eyes was evident. "Are these for real? Are you not afraid to get caught?"
"I have already told the Princess to be rest assured. You do not have to worry about anything." Sir Kit smiled reassuringly as he sat beside Princess Eleanor. He took the pages from her hands as he folded them properly. "Now is not the time to read this. No one will suspect you. All you have to do is present it to Crown Prince Richard and I will take care of the rest."
Princess Eleanor smiled. Her eyes looked at Sir Kit who was smiling at her. "Are you so confident?"
Sir Kit nodded his head as his palm brushed tenderly across Princess Eleanor’s cheeks. "Yes, I am. So do not worry about anything else and just relax and leave everything to me."
Princess Eleanor nodded her head. She blinked her eyes nervously before taking a deep breath. "I am suddenly feeling sleepy." Princess Eleanor said in a dull tone. Although she did not want to sound so stiff, her eyes were really turning heavy. It felt as if she was suffering a lot.
"Are you afraid of the nightmares returning?" Sir Kit said as he observed Princess Eleanor’s face that turned pale for a second. She nodded her head in a hurry as she nibbled on her lips irritatedly.
Princess Eleanor was excited as she thought about the possibility that Sir Kit will be with her but she also felt a little overwhelmed by it. Princess Eleanor did not want to sound annoyed but there was a possibility that she would not be able to handle the situation well. She was getting swept up by her emotions and she did not want to take a wrong step while being overwhelmed by emotions.
"I am. But are you sure you will sleep here?" Princess Eleanor asked as she swallowed hard. She did not want to look like a person who did not know what she was experiencing but her heart was beating faster.
Sir Kit observed Princess Eleanor’s fear as he shook his head. "I will sit beside the bed on the chair. I will hold your hand and will do nothing else. So Princesses do not think of anything else and just sleep soundly."
Princess Eleanor was silent. She felt sad as her eyelids lowered. There was a feeling of helplessness in her. She wanted to make sure that Sir Kit also slept peacefully, but she knew that the man would not agree with her words.
"Princess," Sir Kit walked up towards the side and got hold of a chair as he took it and walked towards the side of the bed. "I will be here. So just sleep."
Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened as she turned around and looked at Sir Kit who sat on the chair beside her. His eyes were glowing as if he was not affected at all by anything.
"Okay," Princess Eleanor sighed as she closed her eyes and tried to make her breathing normal. She could feel the pair of eyes observing her making her a little nervous. Princess Eleanor tried to forget what was happening near her. She felt like it was necessary to put aside the thoughts that Sir Kit was there, but no matter what she could not.
Princess Eleanor shook her head as she bit her lips. "I wanted to tell you something."
Sir Kit looked at Princess Eleanor with a confused look. He thought that once the Princess closed her eyes, she would be able to fall asleep. But to his dismay, nothing of the sort happened.
"Princess, is something wrong?" Sit Kit leaned forward as he touched Princess Eleanor’s head. His hands slid down her hair as he observed the slight change in her expression.
’Am I being too obvious?’ Sir Kit thought. He wanted to be close to Princess Eleanor, but he did not want to make her frightened. There was a thin line that he did not want to cross just yet. He wanted to make sure that the Princess accepted him as he was with all of his identities. But that would take some time.
Sir Kit knew that Princess Eleanor had not asked him to remove the mask even once after he had confirmed that he would reveal his true identity to her when the time was right. But it was getting difficult by the day. Even when he was trying to make the false documents, he kept on thinking about Princess Eleanor.
"I got a letter in the evening. I don’t know if Commander Colt has said something to you or not, but it was from the Emperor."
As soon as Princess Eleanor said those words, Sir Kit’s eyes sharpened. He had heard from Commander Colt that a letter was sent down to the chief healer but was there one for the Princess as well?
Seeing the confused look on Sir Kit’s face, Princess Eleanor got up from the bed. She sat properly as her back rested on the pillow making her comfortable. "I know he must have forgotten. It was not actually addressed to me but to the chief healer. Maybe that is the reason that Commander Colt had not informed you."
Princess Eleanor’s eyes dimmed a little as she bit on her lips. "He said that as the chief healer had already learned how to make the medicine, I don’t need to stay at Duke Beaumont’s mansion anymore. They have requested me to come to the Royal Palace as soon as possible. Preferably within the next two days."
Sir Kit could sense the hesitation of Princess Eleanor. He knew that she did not want to go there and wanted to avoid it as much as possible, but he was also aware that in situations that they were into, such a letter cannot be taken lightly. "So the Princess wants to make the move?"
"I do not think I have a choice in this." Princess Eleanor commented honestly as she sighed. "Now that you have provided me the pages, I think the Crown prince will also try to push me into coming to the Royal Palace. But I can’t deny I am a little nervous."
Princess Eleanor looked up at Sir Kit. "I know that the Royal family will not try to harm me, but I cannot be sure of what the other Princesses and noble families might do. I know that Princess Vida looks harmless, but she has tried to harm me and Marquess Gio is helping them. I am a little afraid to take only Nia there with me." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"But you will not be alone," Sir Kit held Princess Eleanor’s hand as he smiled. His voice was soft as he tried to calm Princess Eleanor down. He could feel that she was not feeling well. "Commander Colt will be there as well."
Princess Eleanor could feel the warmth traveling from Sir Kit’s touch. "But he will not be there as my escort. In the Royal Palace, he will be Crown Prince Richard’s person. I want someone who could help me with the internal dangers of the palace."
Sir Kit was silent. He wanted to tell Princess Eleanor that no matter what, Commander Colt will protect her. But he also felt that whatever Princess Eleanor was saying made a little sense. For internal matters, Commander Colt could not intervene.
"I heard that Marquess Gio’s daughter is a frequent visitor to the Royal Palace to visit Princess Vida. She is making sure to state a point that house Gio supports Princess Vida." Princess Eleanor turned her body as she stared at Sir Kit’s eyes. He rested her other hand over his as she said, "Do you think Lady Gisella will come and meet me in the Royal Palace?"
Sir Kit’s eyes narrowed. He knew that no matter what happened, Princess Eleanor was not someone who would be frightened so easily. It was her ultimate goal to get Lady Gisella to agree and come to the Royal Palace with her.
Sir Kit laughed. He moved his hand away from Princess Eleanor’s grasp. His eyes shone brightly as he touched Princess Eleanor’s cheeks.
"You do not have to play with words. If you want anything, simply say the words and I will make it happen." Sir Kit moved near Princess Eleanor as he kissed her cheeks softly, "I will request Lady Gisella to come and meet you in the Royal Palace. But the Princess has to promise me something too."
Princess Eleanor’s eyes brightened as she looked at Sir Kit’s eyes.
"You have to promise me to be completely honest with me regarding your needs. If the Princess wants something, then you should tell it to me upfront and I will make sure to make it happen." Sir Kit said his thumb moved on Princess Eleanor’s cheeks. "Agreed?"
Princess Eleanor’s eyes widened as her heartbeat was in chaos. She soon nodded her head as she moved closer to Sir Kit before wrapping her hand around him as she said, "I want a kiss now to make my nightmares disappear, will you make that wish happen?"
Sir Kit laughed, "With pleasure, my Princess." Sit Kit leaned over as his lips touched Princess Eleanor’s.
