Chapter 179: Chapter 179

{A few days back}

"It cannot be avoided," Doctor Raul said as he looked at the man who was in a mask and sitting next to him.

It was hard for him to understand why the Grand Duke was sitting in front of Princess Eleanor in a mask, acting like a common knight. "What does Sir Kit think?"

Doctor Raul emphasized on the name, Sir Kit. He knew that the Grand Duke had gone with the people under the disguise to know what the Crown Prince’s plan was, but who knew that he would go to the extent of escorting Princess Eleanor and would even now be willing to obey her.

"What Doctor Raul is saying is true. The Crown Prince will bring the chief healer here. Even if we follow Princess Eleanor’s words and let the chief healer believe that whatever he had learned through Doctor Raul is correct, we might still need something that would make them believe in the cure. So much so that if in the future, something similar occurs, they will not think twice before drinking the medicine."

Sir Kit said as he looked at Princess Eleanor with a smile, "Does Princess have something in mind regarding this problem?"

"After Doctor Raul gets the chief healer to learn the medicine, I will be the one who will drink it and make them believe that it has worked." Princess Eleanor looked at Sir Kit as she said in a small tone. She knew that Sir Kit had some questions. It was evident as she looked at his face. It felt like he wanted to say something and yet he could not.

"I am the one who is affected by the poison, so it only makes sense that they will believe it. And I know my body the best. No matter how hard I try, I cannot push this onto someone else. Also I think that by doing this, it will only make the Crown Prince believe it even more."

"But your health?" Doctor Raul asked as he raised his eyebrows. He knew he had to put the Princess’ health as his top priority no matter what. Because by the looks of it, it felt like the Grand Duke likes her.

Doctor Raul looked to the side as he eyed the man who had a mask on his face. His body stiffened as his eyes were narrowed. He was only staring at Princess Eleanor and that made him realize that the Grand Duke likes her a lot. Maybe more than he could imagine.

’But she is the candidate for Crown Princess. Will this be alright?’ Doctor Raul bit his lips as he moved his gaze to Princess Eleanor.

"Princess, we have to make sure that the medicine will make you feel better and not worse." Doctor Raul leaned forward as he blinked his eyes. These thoughts were clear in his mind. It was only logical in regards to the situation.

"I know my body’s condition best." Princess Eleanor took a deep breath. "The poison is almost completely removed, so there is nothing more to be done here. Even if I get the medicine or I do not get one, I will still recover within two days. So until the time the chief healer learns and makes the medicine and presents it to me, I will already be at my best condition."

Doctor Raul was silent as he looked at Sir Kit who nodded his head.

"Doctor Raul will make sure to make the chief healer learn better. Nothing will happen to the Princess’ health. Doctor Raul will take care of it." Sir Kit looked at Doctor Raul as he asked in a straight tone, "Will you not?"

Doctor Raul swallowed. He was all too knowledgeable in such a situation. He knew that the man was warning him although it looked like he was asking him. It was a warning and Doctor Raul was sure of it. Sir Kit wanted to warn him to make it happen.

"Nothing will happen to the Princess," Doctor Raul smiled and saw the relief in Princess Eleanor’s eyes. He knew that the steps they would be taking further ahead in the future were extremely important.

{Present}

"Princess," the chief healer walked towards Princess Eleanor as he offered the bowl of medicine to her. He had freshly brewed it with a little fear in his heart.

Although the chief healer knew that Doctor Raul had taught him everything, there was still a possibility that something might go wrong. After all, the temple had also done such things before. They would teach everything else to their pupils with little deductions. Only when they were sure that the person would stay in the temple and serve God, will they be taught the correct composition.

The process was simple. The people had to dedicate their lives to the temple through a ceremony. The chief healer looked at Doctor Raul as Princess Eleanor took the bowl. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

He knew that if Doctor Raul had some missing ingredients in the soup, then he would stop the Princess from drinking it, but Doctor Raul did not even move his body. His expression was blank like always. And he could feel that Doctor Raul was confident in his teaching.

"This smells just like Doctor Raul’s medicine," The words brought the chief healer back to reality. He looked at Princess Eleanor who was sniffing the medicinal soup with a smile on her face.

Princess Eleanor was aware of the gazes on her. Everyone was staring at her face and she could feel a strong sense of curiosity from someone who was beside her.

Princess Eleanor did not say anything and nor did she look to the side. There was nothing to look at in the first place when she knew that it must be the Crown Prince.

"Let’s take a sip," Princess Eleanor took a deep breath as she closed her eyes and touched the bowl to her lips. The Crown Prince and the chief healers were looking at the Princess nervously. They could see her swallowing the soup slowly.

As soon as the Princess put the bowl down, she started coughing hard. The chief healer’s body shook as he saw Princess Eleanor like this.

"Princess," The chief healer moved towards Princess Eleanor in a hurry but she lifted her hand up, stopping him from coming closer. Princess Eleanor could feel a hand on her shoulder. She smiled as she looked to the side towards the Crown Prince.

Looking at her smiling face, the Crown Prince’s reaction smoothened. His hold on Princess Eleanor lightened as he relaxed his hold.

"I am fine," Princess Eleanor bit her lips as she straightened her body. Her eyes moved from the Crown Prince to the chief healer as she said, "Not only the smell, the taste is also the same. Spicy." Princess Eleanor laughed as she blinked her eyes.

Princess Eleanor looked at the side where Doctor Raul stood. A corner of his lips curled up but soon it went back to his normal blank appearance. "I thought Princess Eleanor had gotten used to the taste. Was I wrong?"

Princess Eleanor shook her head, "I never got used to it. It still tastes bad. Anyway, I have to give the chief healer some credit. This medicine tasted much better when he prepared it." Princess Eleanor raised her eyebrows as she continued, "Is it because the chief healer has more experience in making medicines and he knows how to control the taste? Doctor Raul should learn from him."

The chief healer smiled as he bowed his head, "I am glad that the Princess likes the medicine I prepared and I haven’t made any mistake."

"Of course, not. Doctor Raul is here to teach you. Did the chief healer think that Doctor Raul will teach him something wrong? Why?" Princess Eleanor looked at the Crown Prince. Although it was a question for the chief healer, it was indirectly a question to the Crown Prince too.

Crown Prince Richard shook his head, "I think the Princess misunderstood something. The chief healer is just happy that he was able to make medicine for the Princess. After all, it was always in his mind that he was not able to cure you."

Princess Eleanor nodded her head, "I did it mean that. I am happy that the chief healer was able to make the medicine. I would be happy if the chief healer will make the medicine for me in the coming days too."

The chief healer looked up at Princess Eleanor as he nodded his head. He knew how important this task was. If he was able to make the Princess feel better then it would be understandable that he had found the exact cure. Doctor Raul did not hide any ingredients from him and that will in turn make Priest Erasmus spare his life. The chief healer could not miss such a good opportunity.

"I will be honored, but Doctor Raul?" The chief healer looked at Doctor Raul to see any changes in his expression. But to his dismay, there were none.

"If the Princess wishes for it, then who am I to complain?" Doctor Raul looked at the Chief healer as his lips curled up. He knew that the first step of their plan was successful. "Princess Eleanor’s medicine will be handled by the chief healer from today onwards."
