The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 112
Princess Eleanor walked towards her room.
Her mind was chaotic. Her footsteps were hurried as if she was running away from something. Princess Eleanor’s eyes stayed in the direction of her room. she knew that she could not be hiding away anymore. The Crown Prince had stopped her and his gaze on her proved that he was trying to separate her from others.
Princess Eleanor knew that she had to get away from the banquet. So as soon as the Crown Prince had opened the dance floor, Princess Eleanor did not wait long before she walked away from the hall. she could feel everyone’s eyes on her. It was evident that they were observing.
"Princess," Nia asked as she followed Princess Eleanor’s footstep. she could see that the Princess was in a hurry but why was she in such a hurry was beyond her understanding.
Nia kept quiet when she saw Princess Eleanor looking at her as if her gaze was saying, ’Don’t ask anything. We will talk once we reach the room.’ 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Nia was silent as she nodded her head and kept looking down, matching Princess Eleanor’s feet. She knew that she had an understanding of the situation. Princess Eleanor was not happy with something.
Nia had to stand away from Princess Eleanor at a corner along with another lady in waiting. She knew that they were not allowed to move with their Princesses. They had to allow their Princesses to enjoy such an event. It was a tradition in the Roulux Empire but Nia could not understand why it was like that.
Nia looked up as Princess Eleanor’s eyes looked around as if she was afraid of something. Nia bit her lips as she closed her eyes before opening them and refocusing them. She knew that Princess Eleanor was talking with the Crown Prince and she shared a few conversations with Princess Vida too.
’Did any of them do something?’ Nia thought. No matter how hard she tried to come up with other situations that would make Princess Eleanor sad, she could not help it at all. Nothing came to her mind.
The more Nia thought about it, the more she was sure that it had to be anyone of them. One of the two was to be blamed.
Princess Eleanor stood in front of her door and smiled. Her tone was shining brightly as if real happiness was behind the door waiting for her. "Let’s enter."
Nia nodded as she followed Princess Eleanor inside the room and she closed the door. she could see Princess Eleanor sighing as she took a few deep breaths.
Nia was worried about Princess Eleanor as she moved toward the table and poured the Princess a glass of water before giving it to her.
Princess Eleanor saw the glass in Nia’s hand as she smiled innocently. She was happy to have such a caring lady in waiting. Someone who was always there for her.
Princess Eleanor took the glass as she drank the water hurriedly. Her gaze was shining as she walked towards the bed and sat as if she had won a huge battle.
"Nia, did you know what happened today?" Princess Eleanor said in a small voice as she looked at Nia with a smile. Her gaze deemed as she saw her lady n waiting shaking her head in denial, "I understood that I can not make real friends here."
Princess Eleanor looked up at the ceiling before she closed her eyes, "Especially with the other Princesses."
"Princess," Nia did not know how to comfort the Princess. Her eyes could see that the truth Princess Eleanor had for someone close was broken but she herself could not do anything. She was clueless in the matter.
Princess Eleanor took a deep breath as she opened her eyes closely. "And I think I failed to be invisible. Instead, I am in the limelight."
Nia tilted her head. What was Princess Eleanor getting at, was beyond her. she could feel that something was bothering her. "Princess is there something that I can help with?" Nia asked in a low voice. she knew that she had to ask this question as she could not bring herself to leave this thing behind. Princess Eleanor’s expression was bothering her.
Princess Eleanor smiled as she looked at Nia for a brief second before she nodded her head, "Yes, you can help me."
Nia tilted her head as her ears sharpened. She knew that if Princess Eleanor was asking something then it had to be important to her. "Yes,"
Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes as she kept on staring at Nia. Her mind wanted to send this to get information but she also felt that it might be dangerous. Princess Eleanor was torn between those two choices. Where to say it to her lady in waiting or to hold back.
Princess Eleanor was silent as she bit her lips. In the end, she could not bring herself to not ask Nia to do her a favor. she needed the information and she needed it soon.
"Nia, listen carefully. I think the Crown Prince is suspicious of something," Princess Eleanor’s eyes narrowed as she did not know how to make it sound genuine in front of Nia. It was just a feeling that was bugging her. "The way he was looking at me did not feel good. It felt like I was being observed continuously by someone. And his gaze was staring at the rose in my head as if he wanted to take the flower from my head and ..." Princess Eleanor’s voice stopped. she could not bring herself to complete the sentence.
She knew that the Crown Prince was feeling something odd but she could not pinpoint it in words. Princess Eleanor shook her head as she looked at Nia with a narrowed gaze, "Let it be. You need to do something for me, Nia. You need to find out who will be my escort and how close is he to the Crown prince."
Nia was silent as she heard Princess Eleanor saying, "And I want to know it now. Can you do it, Nia? Can you get the information?"
