The Void's System-Chapter 52: Shadows and Whispers

After Zane uses Shadow Chains to restrain the seniors and escape with Sera, they manage to get far enough that the seniors unexpectedly stop pursuing. Zane, still cautious, scans the area with Void's Eye, but there's no sign of pursuit.

Later that night, just as Zane is starting to relax in his dorm room, he hears a soft knock... followed by the door creaking open.

ZANE: "Sera? What are you doing here again?"

She tiptoes in, whispering nervously, "They're not chasing me anymore, but I don't know why... it's too quiet. It's creeping me out."

Zane sighs, rubbing the back of his head. "You're sleeping here again, aren't you?"

She grins, holding up her pillow. "Obviously."

Zane groans, but doesn't argue. She heads into his bathroom to change into her pajamas again, and when she comes out, she flops onto the bed beside him like she owns it.
