The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband-Chapter 432: What’s next
Chapter 432: What’s next
"It will be better if you just leave him somewhere to die. There is a powerful dark aura of death surrounding him which only appears when someone might soon die. I can guess your husband is gravely injured." The man explained. He was watching Abrielle’s Expression to his shock she was still calm.
"How do you know that?" She asked him, giving Roselia a glance. He didn’t answer but Roselia did.
"Father is a seer but also a healer in the nearby village. I also sensed the same thing when I saw your husband, I fear his injuries are cursed." Roselia admitted
She remembered seeing death hugging the injured man whose face was covered. He didn’t have long to live but refrained from making any comments, especially to his wife who was stuck to his side
"That’s why you have to leave. I have never seen so much dark energy in my life. You people are not ordinary and I don’t like trouble." Roselia’s father insisted.
Inside the cottage, Elias could not get exactly what they were saying because the group was a bit from the cottage and spoke in calm tones but he could sense something was off.
The door to the inner bedroom was pushed open and Cedric stepped out. His face was a bit pale but his stance was still firm and domineering.
With his wound covered and how he carried himself, there was no way to know he was dying inside
. It was something Cedric sensed from the strange energy eating him up but he refused to mention it to Abrielle.
He didn’t want her to worry much about him. Unfortunately, someone already told Abrielle today. Cedric walked towards the door as soon as he stepped out Roselia’s father stiffened.
"We don’t want trouble, too, but we were hoping you could help," Cedric said, then approached the group. Abrielle looked worried, seeing him walking. She knew every slight movement he took was killing him on the inside, but what she didn’t expect was for him to die.
Her heart squeezed strangely at the thought. Cedric stopped by Abrielle’s side and then went on his knees with his head bowed. Abrielle’s eyes went wide, and this also shook everyone in the cottage watching from the window; they had to rush outside. freewёbnoνel-com
It was beyond their imagination. Roselia’s father was not a very powerful seer but he could sense Cedric was far from ordinary and understood this gesture was too much for him. "What are you doing?" Abrielle went on her knees beckoning him to start
"You worship the spirit of the forest and should hold compassion. I am injured and dying on the inside. In my current state, I can’t do much for my wife or companions; that’s why I beg for your help. Let us stay just the day and we will leave by the next dawn." He beckoned, Cedric didn’t know where they might go but he knew they could not impose...
Roselia’s father was put in a difficult situation. "You can stay one more night and I’d love to help but I can’t afford any harm coming to my daughter She is the only thing I have of my wife " he reluctantly agreed, he could sense Cedric was powerful even when he was injured like this but yet he went on his knees
That tugged his heart. "I understand you have something to protect, the same way I want to protect my wife. I am sorry we had to bring this much trouble, but we beg for your assistance."
"Where are you going after leaving here?" Roselia’s father asked him. Cedric sighed, he was thinking of it. He didn’t have many allies outside Dacronia while he served as Kaiden’s little warlord. Just his name invoked fear in people’s hearts. He planned on communicating with some foreign diplomats with whom he has a fair relationship.
"You don’t know where you are heading to and you know your death isn’t far. All the blood you spilt is finally catching up to you." The seer scoffed, but what he didn’t understand was why someone like Cedric, who was buried in darkness, was married to Abrielle. His words were harsh. Cedric’s hands clenched; this was what his life had turned to.
"Heliosa," Abrielle said. Cedric glanced at her, confused. They could not go to Heliosa anymore, not after the Nightshade family betrayed them. Abrielle could not seek refuge with her cousin.
"He is poisoned or cursed and we can find help in Heliosa." She explained, Roselia gave her father a glance and he sighed. "I might not be strong enough to help him, but Heliosa has the strongest healers and physicians in the world. That’s the only place you can find help."
Cedric stood up, his gaze flickering with hesitation. Heliosa was Dacronia’s biggest rival. He didn’t think the royal family would be glad to see him. "We can’t go to Heliosa after what happened." He hinted.
"We don’t have a choice, Cedric. It is the only way to fight whatever it was that was plaguing you." Abrielle insisted. She wanted to go to Heliosa not just because that is the only place where Cedric might be treated. There was another reason related to the plot and she was willing to bet her life on it.
It was risky with how unpredictable events were but something was telling her that this might work. In the original plot, Cedric had a major ally, the empire across the ocean that rivalled Dacronia in military strength.
Heliosa stood by him in his fight for the throne because they saw his potential, but later abandoned him when he started losing his mind to his obsession with Callista. Maybe in this world, they would also help him.
"She is right, Heliosa is your only hope." Roselia’s father admitted. Cedric was still reluctant about the idea because he knew the crown prince of Heliosa hated his existence.
"Fine but we would need help to be able to board a ship to Heliosa. It will be a long journey."
Roselia stepped out, "We can help," she agreed, earning a glare from her father. "We can’t get too involved." Her father warned..
"I know, we need the money, Father, and they can afford it. All we have to do is help them get on a ship to Heliosa. It isn’t that difficult." Roselia spoke out, they needed money. Their crops failed this year and her father could barely earn while working as a physician
"If you help, we will reward you with the little gold we have. Just help us get on a ship to Heliosa." Abrielle chirped in.
