The Villain's Perspective-Chapter 49 - : The shadow
Chapter 49: Chapter 49: The shadow
"Lucifer, Lucifer, Lucifer, ..."
While Lucifer was sleeping soundly, he heard a soft voice calling his name. Although he didn't want to wake up, he couldn't sleep anymore because of that voice.
"What's wrong?"
Lucifer slowly opened his eyes, and in front of him was Hikaru, who was also very sleepy.
"It's time for you to stand guard."
After saying that, Hikaru immediately fell asleep.
Lucifer slowly regained his consciousness, and it didn't take him more than 5 seconds to realize the current situation. It seemed that Adam had actually listened to Lucifer's words because he was sleeping peacefully in the corner.
'So tired...'
Lucifer yawned a few times and walked out of the cave. Although he was still a bit sleepy, he had to keep himself awake.
Like Adam, Lucifer climbed a nearby tree to get a better view. Just as Adam said, Lucifer could see more and farther than when he was sitting on the ground.
The entire forest was very silent, not a single sound could be heard except for the owls. Although this place was quite creepy, Lucifer didn't care much because he was still a bit drowsy.
After sitting up here for more than 5 minutes, Lucifer started to feel quite bored. He had to look up at the sky to watch the shining stars to make time pass faster.
20 minutes later, while Lucifer was still admiring the gorgeous starry sky, suddenly the ground started to shake slightly.
'An earthquake?'
Lucifer tried to keep his balance so as not to fall down. Then suddenly, he heard a loud noise in the distance.
Lucifer immediately turned his face towards the noise, and the sight almost made Lucifer lose his balance and fall to the ground.
In the distance, Lucifer could clearly see a giant but quite skinny shadow. The shadow must be as tall as 5 trees stacked on top of each other. Since it was nighttime, Lucifer couldn't see what it looked like clearly.
Not believing his eyes, Lucifer rubbed his eyes twice before looking again.
But strangely enough, the shadow had completely vanished, and the small earthquake from earlier was also gone.
'Did I just see a ghost? Or am I too sleepy?'
Only now did Lucifer completely wake up from his sleepiness. A shiver ran down his spine and his whole body trembled slightly. Lucifer wished his watch would end sooner.

More than an hour had passed and Lucifer was able to go back to sleep. Lucifer left the tree and entered the cave.
Before going back to sleep, Lucifer woke Sierra up because it was time for her to be on guard. But no matter how much Lucifer called her name or shook her, Sierra still didn't wake up.
Lucifer sighed, then he decided to pinch the girl's cheeks. It was only when Lucifer pinched Sierra's cheek that she woke up.
Sierra turned to look at Lucifer who was pinching her cheek and pouted.
"What are you pouting for, it's your turn to guard."
To make sure that Sierra was completely awake, Lucifer even carried the girl out of the cave and placed her down hard on the ground.
"It hurts..."
It seemed that Sierra had regained her consciousness after being placed down hard on the ground.
"It is your turn, I'm going back to sleep."
Lucifer said goodbye to Sierra and entered the cave. He lay down on the spot where he had just slept and tried to close his eyes.
But that was impossible. Lucifer had been thinking about the giant shadow ever since he saw it. Even though the shadow disappeared right away, Lucifer still couldn't stop worrying.
He tried to erase the image of the shadow from his mind but couldn't. In the end, Lucifer couldn't sleep anymore. He sighed and walked out of the cave. Outside, Sierra was leaning against a tree and staring at the night sky.
Sierra immediately reacted after hearing footsteps from inside the cave but was relieved when she realized it was Lucifer.
"Don't mind me, just keep on guard."
Lucifer sat down, leaning against a tree next to Sierra's tree and looking at the night sky with the girl.
"Can't sleep?" Sierra asked worriedly.
"Yeah, because I just saw a ghost while I was on guard." Lucifer decided to tease Sierra a little.
"Is that so..."
Contrary to what he thought, Sierra only reacted indifferently when she heard Lucifer say that he just saw a ghost.
Lucifer had expected that Sierra would be quivering and anxious but she didn't. She still reacted normally. It seemed that Sierra wasn't afraid of ghosts like the other girls.
The two of them sat in silence again without saying anything to each other. It seemed that this time the giant shadow or the earthquake wouldn't appear again.

They sat there looking at the beautiful night sky without talking to each other. After more than an hour, Sierra's watch finally ended, and Lucifer was a little sleepier at this point.
They went back into the cave, woke Chaewon up, and went to sleep right after.
The next morning, when Lucifer woke up, everyone was still sleeping soundly. But he couldn't find Adam anywhere. Lucifer quickly put his sleeping bag in the Cube and left the cave.
Just as Lucifer had predicted, Adam and Lucian were training together. They were really diligent people.
Seeing Lucifer, Adam greeted him with a smile:
"Good morning Lucifer!"
"Yeah."
Because he was still a bit sleepy, Lucifer didn't want to talk much with Adam. He quickly took a protein bar and ate it while watching the other two training.
After more than 30 minutes, Adam and Lucian finally stopped. At this time, the rest of the group also woke up and ate a protein bar for breakfast.
Although they had been in such bad conditions for a day, it seemed like the members of the group didn't complain much. The person that shocked Lucifer most was Sierra. Lucifer had thought that she would feel a bit uncomfortable on the second day but she was still completely fine.
'Maybe not all rich people can't stand living conditions like this.'
"You don't seem to have any complaints, Sierra?" Chaewon, who was sitting next to Sierra, suddenly said what Lucifer had been thinking.
"Well, before I was rich, my family was poor. So I used to live in places like this."
Sierra didn't try to hide it and told the other members the truth that she was poor in the past.
Maybe that was why she had such a humble personality. Sierra was the first rich person that Lucifer didn't feel uncomfortable around.
After breakfast, the group started cleaning up to continue moving. Initially, the group decided to go North, but Lucifer wanted to go South, the direction where he saw that giant shadow yesterday.
Lucifer wanted to check what that shadow really was.
Seeing that, the group didn't say anything and followed Lucifer's opinion. Together, they headed South.
