The Villainess Wants a Divorce:Beast Husbands Regret It to Tears-Chapter 76: You Have No Other Choice
This is clearly domination.
And belittling her Beast Husband?
A true strong person never needs to put others down to elevate themselves.
Yet Silas Shaw did exactly the lowest of the low.
She wasn’t without protection, she just... didn’t want to be snatched up like a trophy.
"Silas Shaw, I really don’t like you. Stop deceiving yourself. Stop dreaming of Bonding with me. Send me back now, and this will be as if it never happened. If not, we’ll end up as complete enemies."
Silas Shaw’s eyes darkened, the hint of tenderness disappeared without a trace.
His face became gloomy.
"I’m not letting you go."
His voice was deep.
"This place is unknown to anyone, not even marked on a map. You can’t escape, and no one will find you. As long as I don’t speak up, you’ll be trapped here forever."
Seraphina Caldwell’s heart sank, but she still stood tall, refusing to show weakness.
She met his gaze.
"You know full well that if I don’t agree, you can’t force me. Bonding is a mutual mark, indispensable. Trapping me here, will it work? It’s only a futile waste of both our times."
"I’m not forcing you."
Silas Shaw smiled, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes.
His gaze slowly swept across the steep cliff outside the cave.
The rock wall was nearly vertical, below was a swirling mist.
"But you will agree."
He paused, his tone flat.
"Look, outside is a ten-thousand-foot cliff, without me leading the way, you can’t even get past the gate. There’s no food here, no water to drink. The cave interior is damp and chilly, the only water source is three miles away in the cliff valley, alone you can’t survive reaching it. After two or three days of hunger, when you collapse to your knees, you’ll realize that apart from Bonding with me, you have no choice."
Seraphina Caldwell stared at him assured, anger and urgency raging inside.
But just as emotions surged, she suddenly recalled the ancient rules of the Beast Seal’s Bonding.
Both parties must willingly consent, hearts resonating and bloodlines responding to successfully forge the Contract.
If either party harbors resistance, even a moment’s hesitation, the mark cannot form.
Thinking of this, she gritted her teeth and questioned word for word.
"Silas Shaw, you know the Beast Seal Law too. If my heart doesn’t permit, even if you make me bleed, the Contract won’t form. Trapping me here, what can you do? Aren’t you afraid of backlash? Aren’t you afraid of risking your own Cultivation and life?"
"Aren’t you afraid? Even if I reluctantly agree, later on, I can still erase your Beast Seal! Your rank drops Third Rank, you’re not even qualified to be a regular Hunter, let alone Bond with another female. Do you really want to become a discarded waste by the tribe?"
As soon as these words were uttered, Silas Shaw’s expression slightly changed, his pupils shrunk.
However, it was only for a moment, that ripple vanished without a trace.
The next second, his lips curved into a smile again.
"You wouldn’t do that."
Seraphina Caldwell looked at him with a "I know you" expression, and the long-suppressed rage burst forth.
Her brows furrowed tightly.
"I would. If you force me, I’ll find the sharpest, the most pointed stone and personally scrape off my Beast Seal. That mark engraved in the flesh, I’ll claw it out with my nails, grind it with broken stones, until my skin is torn and blood pours, I’ll bear it."
"Once you lose the Beast Seal’s blessing, your power will crumble, your rank immediately drops Third Rank. From then on, you’re no longer a Hunter, not even comparable to the lowest rank Collector. You’ll be expelled from the tribe, becoming a struggling wanderer in the wilderness."
Her gaze was fixed on him, her lips trembling.
"You’ll never stand on high ground again, no one will look up at you. Because no one wants to follow a cursed failure, struggling in the mud to survive. You’ll rot in the mire, like a snake with a broken spine, forever unable to raise your head."
Yet Silas Shaw suddenly leaned forward, his movement rapid and abrupt, almost pasted to her face.
Under the firelight, his eyes darkened brightly.
"You wouldn’t, I believe you."
"If it were another female, she’d have long screamed and rushed forward, scratching my face with her nails, pounding my chest with her fists, or crying for me to spare her... but you?"
"You didn’t cry, didn’t act, you still stand here calmly and threaten me one sentence at a time. You don’t shout, don’t drama, haven’t even shed a tear."
He tilted his head slightly, a touch of indescribable fascination flashed in his eyes. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"Obviously holding a knife that could destroy me, yet hesitant to strike. Your heart is softer than I imagined."
He whispered.
"With such a soft heart, how could you bear to harm me? How could you stand to watch me die?"
Seraphina Caldwell nearly laughed aloud.
The laughter got stuck in her throat, turning into a cold sneer.
What kind of twisted logic is this?
Absurd beyond belief!
She glared at him, one thought exploding repeatedly in her mind.
This person is downright unreasonable!
Now, just because she didn’t hysterically rush to hit him, he assumes she’s compliant?
So, in his eyes, not acting against him was reason to believe she accepted his rule?
She suddenly raised her right hand, using all her strength, and slapped him!
"Smack!"
The echo collided with the stone wall, bouncing back layer upon layer.
It buzzed, lingering for a long time.
Silas Shaw’s face was slapped to the side, his neck made a slight cracking sound.
Five deep red marks quickly appeared on his cheek.
Yet he didn’t move, didn’t cover his face.
After a few seconds, he leisurely turned back, his gaze still locked on her.
In those dark eyes there was no anger.
He laughed, deeper than before.
"Does your hand hurt? Seems it wasn’t heavy enough."
He said lowly, voice hoarse.
"How about... trying the other side too? Let me completely wake up?"
Seraphina Caldwell froze, her fingers still quivering slightly.
Watching the twisted dedication in his eyes, a chill surged from her feet to her spine.
She finally understood.
This person, cannot understand reason at all.
He doesn’t care about threats, doesn’t fear consequences, isn’t afraid of death.
He views all her resistance as another form of response.
In his eyes, silence is tenderness, rationality is tolerance, restraint is acquiescence, anger means caring.
He’s sure she won’t voluntarily erase the Beast Seal.
She’s not someone who submits easily, nor would she give up her last dignity and freedom without being driven to the brink.
The Beast Seal is a shackle, a chain.
But to her, it’s a bottom line.
Once erased, it means completely succumbing to him, becoming his legitimate spouse.
And Seraphina Caldwell, would never choose to do so unless pushed to absolute desperation.
He thinks, just by stalling, waiting until she’s dizzy from hunger, she’ll naturally submit and accept fate.
Hunger and thirst are the most primitive weapons.
He knows, no matter how strong-willed, one can’t withstand the torment of physical instincts.
When the abdomen churns with empty pain, one instinctively seeks relief.
And at that moment, if he offers even a ray of hope.
