The Villainess Wants a Divorce:Beast Husbands Regret It to Tears-Chapter 128: In This Life, I Only Choose You
It can be exchanged for the tribe’s highest level hunting tools, and it’s even enough to propose to the elders.
She knew this, so she didn’t dare to accept it.
"Isaac, this is too much... I can’t take it."
She carefully pushed the skirt towards him, not daring to look up at him.
"You should keep it, for... someone more deserving in the future."
"There is no future."
Isaac suddenly turned around, staring at her.
Seraphina’s heart ached dully.
He was still tightly gripping that skirt, with the bone needle hanging at the corner, yet to be removed.
Seraphina’s heartbeat was in chaos, but her face was flushed with heat.
She didn’t know whether to explain first, or to escape.
"Don’t you understand yet?"
"I don’t want to break the contract. Isaac will only recognize you in this lifetime. Don’t... don’t leave me."
When those words fell, Seraphina froze, her breath stopping for a moment.
Suddenly, she remembered last night.
Isaac sat with his head lowered, icy blue hair falling across his shoulders, the strands threading through his fingers.
In his eyes, there was only that skirt, nothing else.
Turns out he couldn’t get up today because he hadn’t slept all night.
He took out his most treasured possession, just to make her a skirt.
Seraphina knew that perhaps behind this was the troublesome mating season.
Males instinctively desire to bind to a sole female master during this period, showing strong possessiveness.
But even so, it doesn’t mean that these feelings are false.
He could’ve given other things, or waited until he was more clear-headed one day to say it.
Yet he precisely chose now, using the most precious material, sewing it by hand, staying up all night.
She’s not heartless; when someone treats her so sincerely, how could she be unmoved?
Seraphina began to realize that she actually cared about him long ago.
It’s just that she was always afraid to admit it.
Perhaps he’ll regret it in the future, but now, the way he looks at her is genuine.
Seraphina finally took a deep breath and stopped avoiding.
She straightened her back, meeting his gaze head-on.
"Okay, I’ll accept it."
She lowered her head.
"Turn around."
Isaac’s eyes suddenly brightened.
His face started reddening gradually from the tips of his ears.
Isaac hastily stuffed the Beast Skin Skirt into Seraphina’s hands.
When he turned, his back was impossibly straight.
"Put it on, don’t catch a cold."
Seraphina accepted the skirt.
The outfit consisted of two pieces, a top and a bottom, the workmanship was exquisite, clearly not the rough work casually sewn by an ordinary hunter.
The top wasn’t the usual bust cover but two thin straps instead.
She took a deep breath and carefully draped the straps over herself.
The Beast Skin was supple and close-fitting, with a gentle tug it smoothly glided over the shoulder.
Below it rests snugly at the waistline, neither loose nor tight, fitting securely without any effort.
The hem falls above the knees, with naturally curled pleats at the edge.
She looked up and softly asked.
"Finished dressing, does it look good?"
Only then did Isaac slowly turn around.
When he finally raised his head and his gaze met hers, his breath halted for a moment.
The pale blue skirt complemented her skin’s delicate translucency.
Her waist was cinched just right, making her appear light, agile, and captivatingly beautiful.
"I regret it."
Seraphina’s smile froze instantly, her hand clutching the skirt hem tightly.
"I’ll take it off and return it to you."
She reached to untie the straps.
But Isaac caught her hand.
He lowered his head, not looking into her eyes, closed his eyes lightly, and planted a soft kiss on the back of her hand.
"I regret not making it for you sooner."
These words instantly dyed Seraphina’s face a bright red.
She lowered her gaze, her fingertips subconsciously curling.
But at the moment Seraphina appeared, everyone else paused.
Seraphina’s steps faltered, she instinctively tugged at the skirt hem.
"...Is it strange?"
Wyatt Yardley stepped in front of her in a few strides.
He spoke, only slightly bending over, wrapped her in his arms.
She was willing to wear the outfit Isaac made, also willing to accept his feelings.
Does that mean that if he waits a bit longer, she might gradually open up to him?
"Not strange, it looks very nice."
Gideon Larkin dropped the firewood he was holding and rushed over in a few strides.
Those icy blue eyes shone brightly with amazement.
He circled Wyatt Yardley holding Seraphina, clicking his tongue in wonder.
"Seraphina! You look really nice in this!"
He grinned broadly.
"When winter comes, I’ll sew a Beast Skin Skirt for you! I’ve got the skin of Frost-Congealed Beast, it’s soft and warm, thicker and prettier than Isaac’s! When you wear it, I guarantee you’ll be so warm even the Snow Wolves will be jealous!"
Seraphina smiled at his excitement.
She didn’t say anything, only quietly watched him.
Yet she knew in her heart.
Can Gideon Larkin’s enthusiasm last until winter?
His mood is high now; the words he speaks today might be completely forgotten by tomorrow morning.
It’s not insincere, it’s just that it comes quickly and goes just as fast, leaving no trace behind.
Kaelan Hawthorne still squatted by the fire pit, holding a wooden skewer of roasted meat.
His eyes fixed on the pale blue skirt Seraphina wore, his gaze growing increasingly deep.
He recognized this skin.
It was Isaac’s most precious Beast Skin, taken from the depths of the freezing sea domains of the Umbral Scale Beast.
The entire tribe had only one complete piece. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
It was said Isaac had reserved it for his own armor.
No one expected he’d really cut it, stitch by stitch, into a skirt and gift it to Seraphina.
What he suspected seemed to be confirmed.
Seraphina had not intended to break the contract.
She was waiting, waiting for them to fall deeper.
Evan Orwell stood in the corner, unmoving.
He gracefully leapt down from the tree branch, making a silent landing, his amber eyes never leaving her.
Seraphina glanced around and her gaze suddenly fixed on his arm.
The originally golden Beast Ring was gone.
Her eyes lit up.
"Evan, you’ve leveled up?"
Evan looked at her, that pair of cold eyes rare with a ripple of emotion.
He nodded lightly.
"Mm."
"You didn’t enter mating season, there’s no need to panic."
Seraphina’s taut string in her heart slackened slightly.
She had always worried that after leveling up, he would, like Wyatt Yardley and Isaac, fall into overwhelming desire.
But now hearing what he said, she felt somewhat relieved.
However, observing his distant demeanor, she couldn’t help but ponder.
Has he been... wanting to leave her for a long time?
From the day she arrived in this world, he kept his distance.
Not blaming her, nor being close.
He was the quietest of all the Beast Husbands but precisely because of this quietness, she always felt he hid the deepest.
Could he have been forced to accompany her to find her father because of the Beast Seal, tired of it long ago?
After all, she as the master has neither power nor background.
For someone who awakened the High-Level beast nature and was a powerful warrior, following her across mountains and rivers, could it be he’s secretly developed resentment?
"Why are you in a daze? Eat while it’s hot."
A wooden bowl was pushed in front of her.
It was Kaelan.
His smile was as usual, but those eyes lacked the slightest warmth.
Seraphina clenched her hand.
Kaelan watched her take the meat and continued speaking.
"This meat I hunted last midnight; it’s more filling than wild fruit. The mountain road will be tough today, eat more and you’ll have the strength."
