The Villainess Wants a Divorce:Beast Husbands Regret It to Tears-Chapter 116: Closer to Her
"Mm."
She still didn’t look back.
These days, Isaac Vaughn, Wyatt Yardley, and Gideon Larkin had treated her with meticulous care.
But now she realized, none of it came from genuine affection.
She must break the contract as soon as possible and choose a true Beast Husband.
She couldn’t delay any longer.
These antagonists...
Were simply too exceptional.
She had crossed three tribes, met countless male Beastfolk, and yet none could catch her eye.
No matter how excellent they were, she shouldn’t let herself be lost.
Feelings can be nurtured, but reality waits for no one.
The rainy season brings toxic miasma.
If she didn’t have a stable partner for protection, survival as an individual would be difficult.
She looked down at the bowl of rice, when suddenly, a figure appeared in her thoughts.
Jasper Quinn.
Gentle by nature, speaking softly.
Indeed...
Quite likable.
The three Beast Husbands hadn’t noticed her thoughts.
When she finally finished eating and gently put down her bowl and chopsticks, Isaac Vaughn was the first to rise and approached, lifting her horizontally.
"Full? I fetched water, a bath?"
Seraphina Caldwell leaned into his embrace, raising her head to smile at him.
"Thank you, Isaac."
Isaac’s arms suddenly tightened.
He had always thought that after so many days and nights together, she was finally starting to slowly move closer to him.
But this word "thank you" sent a jolt through his heart.
Once inside the wooden house, he slowly put her down by the bed.
Before leaving, he gently brushed his fingers against her dark, soft long hair.
Then he took half a step back and stood firm.
"The heat cycle hasn’t completely passed. Can I... stand here? With my back to you, and promise not to look. Just wanted to be a little closer."
In reality, the heat cycle had mostly passed.
But at that moment, her light "thank you" had tightened around his heart.
He just wanted to be a bit closer to her.
Seraphina Caldwell knew very well.
To dissolve the contract, she must make the contract beast truly reliant on her.
And currently, the safest way is to follow its emotions, offering comfort and response.
She slowly nodded.
"Okay, turn around, don’t look."
Upon hearing this, Isaac’s taut shoulders immediately relaxed.
He quickly turned around, back towards the tub.
Seraphina Caldwell lowered her head and loosened the Beast Skin Skirt’s tie, gently slipping off her clothes.
As she raised her hand, about to scrub thoroughly, a strand of coolness rested on her left shoulder.
Seraphina was momentarily startled, looking down to find it was Isaac’s long hair.
Without thinking much, she simply found the sensation of the strands particularly unique, instinctively reaching out to twist the strand of hair.
The softness of the touch made her heart itch.
She reached out again, lightly tugging at two strands hanging from his back, slowly beginning to braid.
But halfway through braiding, the hair in her hand suddenly disappeared.
Startled, she looked up to find Isaac had somehow turned back, his eyes fixed on her.
Seraphina Caldwell’s face instantly turned crimson.
She clasped her hands tightly over her chest.
"Why did you turn your head? Didn’t you promise not to look?"
Isaac didn’t answer, his gaze fixed on her face.
"I felt you pulling my hair... thought you wanted to say something."
His eyes slowly moved to the half-finished braid in her hand.
"I didn’t see clearly, just thought to turn back and ask you."
Seraphina’s embarrassment made her fingertips burn, pulling out a dry smile.
"It’s nothing, just... your hair is so long, I just casually braided it."
Isaac’s eyes suddenly lit up.
He moved half a step forward, his knees touching the edge of the tub.
"You can do whatever you like with my hair."
Seraphina’s fingers unconsciously curled up.
How could he be like this?
Clearly a cold antagonist, and her task’s enemy.
Yet at her most unguarded moment, he used such eyes to look at her.
No...
She couldn’t be soft-hearted anymore.
She quickly returned to her senses, lowering her head swiftly.
"It’s nothing."
Isaac watched her turn her face away, the light in his eyes gradually dimming.
He knew she was pushing him away again.
Every time he got a little closer, she would retreat a step.
He understood her caution, also aware of her concerns.
But understanding didn’t mean the pain wasn’t there.
Yet he said nothing, slowly turning his back.
After all...
How can he make her stop avoiding him?
Should he let go and fulfill her, or should he disregard everything to keep her by his side?
He didn’t know.
Seraphina Caldwell tightened the Beast Skin Skirt’s straps, her fingers firmly wrapping the soft cords twice.
After tidying up, she lifted her foot, lightly stepping out of the tub.
With a turn, Isaac still had his back to her, motionless.
Seraphina didn’t think much, assuming he was just waiting for her to finish tidying up.
She stepped forward, getting closer.
"Earlier I promised to give you the blood drop, but forgot while traveling. Now that things are calm, let’s do it now."
As soon as she spoke, she raised her hand towards the necklace on her neck.
It was a thin silver chain with a crystal pendant hanging from it.
But before she finished speaking, Isaac turned around.
His face was pale as paper, his eyes staring intently at the necklace in Seraphina’s hand.
So it turns out her gentleness just now was just a facade.
She wasn’t trying to get close to him but had the intention of breaking the contract.
How he wanted to ask, do you really want to leave me that much?
But he knew, asking might mean goodbye forever.
Seraphina was about to say, "What’s wrong?"
But before the words left her mouth, Gideon Larkin suddenly rushed in.
He stood at the door, slightly panting, with his golden lion ears standing tall atop his head.
Seraphina’s gaze was immediately captured by those ears.
The necklace in her hand was already held loosely, and in this moment of distraction, the chain slipped from her fingers with a soft "clink".
The fur on those ears was dense and fine.
With each of his breaths, it quivered and trembled.
Gideon Larkin noticed her gaze as soon as he entered the door.
His lips curved upward, and he immediately stopped, swaying his head slightly.
He lowered his head, took a step forward, and walked closer to her.
"Seraphina! Look! I sprouted ears! They’re really there! Touch them! I’m not running away! Go ahead, touch them!"
What kind of temptation is this? It’s clearly naked seduction!
She paused for a moment, but her hands moved faster than her mind.
Her fingertips cautiously brushed the layer of golden fur, the sensation more tingling than she’d imagined.
She couldn’t help but rub it again.
The more she rubbed, the more she couldn’t let go.
Gideon Larkin squinted his eyes, his smile spreading to the corners.
Soon, lowering his posture, extending his arm, he gently swept her up.
Then he strode over to the bed covered with thick dry grass and Beast Skin in the corner.
He placed her down gently, then sat himself down, pulling her over smoothly, encircling her in his embrace.
Lowering his head, he nudged it forward.
"This way it’s more comfortable for touching, don’t worry about hurting me. I truly won’t dodge, touch as long as you want."
Seraphina surrendered herself completely.
Both hands pressed down, one hand rubbing the left ear, and the other pinching the tip of the right ear.
The fluffy golden fur tingled her fingertips with its softness.
Her lips involuntarily curved upwards, becoming happier the more she rubbed.
She got so absorbed in the moment.
Didn’t even notice when Gideon’s breathing gradually turned heavy.
