The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 43: Can I Return To My Room?
Abigail was angry, so angry that she wanted to destroy this entire hotel! Her fingers curled up to form a fist as she continued to rub her other jaw with her other free hand.
All traces of fear slowly replaced with intense fury once she was outside the room. Now that she wasn’t facing Nicholas, her eyes turned red as she fumed.
"Who does he think he is to treat me like this?!" Abigail raised her hand and tried turning the knob of her door. "I can sue him for hurting me! That’s practically a crime!"
"What crime?"
Asher, who had just gotten out of his room to take a little break in the garden, heard her words and frowned. He walked over and looked at her face, specifically her reddened jaw. His frown deepened as a slightly angry expression appeared on his face.
"Who did this?" Asher pointed his finger at her jaw, still frowning.
Abigail didn’t turn back and said awkwardly, "No one."
She knew she was angry, and she was barely able to hold it in because she didn’t want to be the kind of woman who made her husband a villain behind his back no matter what. She still had her brains intact to hold onto her morals.
So she turned the knob and was about to enter when the man stopped here, grabbing her other hand. He used slight force to turn the woman around and saw finger marks on her jaw.
Asher clearly knew who would dare to do this, and who would dare to make Abigail so angry that she would want to destroy the entire hotel. An intense sense of fury filled his heart.
That person didn’t deserve her.
Not even in his dreams.
But...
He looked at Abigail who was still trying her very best to control her anger, probably for the first time. It was all for whom? That damned cousin of his who didn’t know how to treat a woman?
How laughable!
Asher took a deep breath and said in a cold voice, "Come with me. I have a cream to heal your wound."
Despite knowing who hurt her, he knew he couldn’t overstep. If Abigail still liked to be with her husband, why should he insert himself between the couple?
He knew that he would probably end up hurting the woman even more, emotionally.
The most he could do was warn that guy against such acts. If things persisted like this, he would probably have to take strict actions (really not to show off his firm stand and gentlemanly behavior in front of Abigail)!
Abigail saw that her cousin-in-law wasn’t listening and panicked. She knew if she stayed with him, she might end up blurting out everything, and that’s what she didn’t want to do.
"No need. It’s not serious anyway."
"You’re a woman." Asher still felt bubbling fury in his heart, but he lowered his voice and spoke gently with the woman, "For a beautiful woman like you, your face should be more important."
Beautiful...
Abigail blushed slightly.
Seriously, she had no face value in front of this handsome, all-rounder young man she created!
She coughed and said, "Alright. Let’s go."
Ah, her character called her beautiful!
If both Nicholas and Asher heard her thoughts and realized that she merely considered them the characters she created in her novel, they would surely be speechless. But right now, Asher thought that she blushed because she was a face-con.
He didn’t take her emotions seriously this time and smiled, saying, "Wait a little here. I’ll bring the first-aid kit."
Abigail nodded, standing there obediently like a little kid. But since it was awkward to stand around in the corridor, letting other people watch her in such a situation, she finally decided to enter.
So she did. She walked inside and closed the door behind her.
The sound of the door alerted Asher, but he still continued to search.
Damn, she really entered his room. Doesn’t she know it wasn’t safe to come inside another man’s bedroom so brazenly like this, especially a man who had a crush on her?!
He took a deep breath and finally took out a cream from his bag. It was the same brand of cream that Nicholas had thrown at Abigail earlier. But the latter didn’t notice since she hadn’t taken a single glance at the thing thrown at the ground.
She merely took the cream and applied it on her jaw, handing it back to Asher. "Now, happy? Can I return to my room?"
Her mood had calmed down, and right now, she merely wanted to roll on the bed and giggle.
Her character was so awesome! As expected of this all-rounder, handsome young man!
But Asher frowned. "Wait, there’s still some left."
He took a portion of that cream and raised his hand, gently rubbing his index finger on the area of her jaw that had been left. His actions were gentle and soft as he carefully applied the cream.
Abigail also raised her head and looked at the man. Her heart thumped in her chest seeing his soft yet serious expression.
Certainly, she started feeling a little envious of the girl Asher would marry. He was an entire package full of gentleness yet rude at the same time when needed. But toward ladies, especially her, the man was more than gentle.
Ah, why did she have to marry that rude b*stard again?!
If she could turn back time, she would have refused to sign that contract in the first place! Would not marrying Nicholas change the entire course of events? It would have saved her a lot of trouble!
Of course, Abigail could file for a divorce, but she didn’t have that much money to hand over to him. Fifty million dollars! Where would she find that much amount? She didn’t have a single penny under her name in this world!
No, honestly, she didn’t even know how to earn money at all!
So she had no choice but to accept her depressing fate and sighed, stepping back a little. She smiled and said, "Thank you, cousin-in-law."
After saying that, she turned back and walked out of the door.
Of course, how could Asher not understand those words? He stood there, frozen a little. Then he chuckled bitterly.
What else was he expecting from her, appreciation? Even Abigail knew how to step back and draw a clear line when needed.
She said cousin-in-law with a depressing smile.
Asher lowered his head and looked at the cream in his hand and felt ridiculous.
He should return and stay away from this woman. It’s not like he didn’t want to stay with her a bit longer, but he was afraid his heart would be more invested than necessary.
