The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 170: Her Empty Dish
Abigail’s mind finally started functioning after he spoke those words.
So.... He meant to move the chair behind her.
Damn....
Abigail instantly stammered, "I-I’ll be in my room."
After speaking those words, she instantly turned around and dashed toward the kitchen as if she were fleeing for her life.
On the side, Nicholas looked at the empty dish on the table as he raised his brows and took it up, heading toward the kitchen at a slow pace.
Of course, Abigail didn’t know that her husband had immediately followed after her with her own empty dish in his hand. She only realized that she had entered this space empty-handed when she was standing over the sink. She stared at her empty hands for a second before gritting her teeth and finally turning around.
At first, she only wanted to get her dish back, but when she returned to the main door, she found him standing in front of her with the dish that she was supposed to bring. The moment she saw him, she became stunned as her feet froze at that place.
Her face turned red automatically upon his glance as she took a step back. Unfortunately, she stepped back without looking behind her and ended up bumping into the corner of a table by the door side as she jumped back in the front, only to bump head first into Nicholas, hugging him indirectly.
This event happened so fast that both Nicholas and Abigail were stunned by the time she ended up in his arms. His hands automatically wrapped around her waist, pulling her close so that she could stand properly with his support. But he didn’t know his action only made her blush even more.
Her face turned even redder as she coughed and said, "Nicholas.... Can you let me go?"
At first, he wanted to let her go, but when he thought of how he wanted to become an active party once again and keep her mind off Asher, his hand only tightened around her waist as he silently placed the empty dish on the table on which she had bumped into. Then he even wrapped his other hand around her waist as he directly looked into her face with an expressionless face.
"You can go if you want. I’m not stopping you."
Veins popped into Abigail’s face as she glared at him. "What the heck do you want?!"
The corners of Nicholas’s lips curved up as he said word to word, "Nothing. I just realized teasing you is worth it."
"..."
Abigail took a deep breath and struggled, but as she struggled, she only realized that the man’s hands were keeping her steady and it was useless to try to get out of the knot that was behind her back. When she was finally done struggling, she stopped and stood there obediently as a mere puppet in the hands of a puppet master.
She pursed her lips and looked at him, saying, "Can you please let me go?"
"No."
"Why the heck not?!"
Nicholas looked at her and said, "Well, you have to do something to get it unlocked. Stuff a key in me to unlock my hands."
He said with a straight face as if he weren’t teasing her but rather, he was talking about a business deal with some CEO. If it weren’t for the words he had just spoken just now, even Abigail would have been fooled.
But she wasn’t. Unfortunately, despite how low he spoke, she heard it because she was standing way too close, so close that his scent engulfed her entirely to the point of suffocation. Wherever she looked, she could only smell him.
Nononono, even Asher wasn’t this advanced! How did Nicholas out of everyone get transformed into such a person overnight?!
Abigail felt a trace of anxiety in her heart.
She had originally wanted to push him away from her heart and make sure to stay alone to save him. But if this keeps going on, she might end up falling for him even more, and it would be impossible to get away at that point. What to do? How to save her husband from the hands of the great villain?!
The more she thought about it, the more she became anxious. Now, her expressions were obvious on her face. For some reason, Nicholas felt a little hesitant upon seeing her expression as he sighed and decided to step back.
But before he could step back, she raised her head and kissed him on his cheek, saying, "There. Let go of me now."
She was so anxious that she didn’t think her action was that intimate. She only wanted to get away for now and save her heart from falling for that man at the moment.
Of course, her actions rendered even Nicholas speechless and stunned. He had only wanted something, but she would end up kissing him... he hadn’t expected that.
So.... if he pushed her limits, she would definitely come around. That thought itself lifted the corners of his lips as he said, "Alright. You win. You can go."
Abigail relaxed but when she was about to move, she realized that the man’s hand hadn’t moved away but it was still locking her in his embrace. She looked up at him with a confused expression on her face.
Nicholas still had an indifferent expression as he stared at her and said, "But you still have to promise me something."
"Okay, what is it?" Abigail was in a hurry as she didn’t realize that she was slowly ending up falling into his trap.
The corners of Nicholas’s lips curved as he said, "Then, remember this promise for the latter."
After saying this, he stepped back and said, "Go."
Abigail blinked as he stepped away from her, leaving her alone. For a moment, she felt like she didn’t want to step back into the coldness. She was feeling rather good in his embrace. Why did he have to step back and leave her cold from head to toe?
But then, her reasoning also came along, making her realize why she was doing what she was doing. Thus, she lowered her head and rushed outside the kitchen, not even turning back to see the empty dish. Heck, she didn’t even wash her hands in the first place!
But she wasn’t in the right mind to think of those things. She only rushed toward her room at the fastest pace possible.
