The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 136: It’s Me
Just as Abigail finished eating, she got a call from someone when Nicholas went to the toilet to freshen up. She picked it up without even glancing at the screen, asking, "Who is it?"
"It’s me, Owen." The man’s voice sounded warm to her ears, making Abigail feel her heart thump again. "How are you holding up these days? We didn’t get a single chance for counseling for the past few days."
"Yeah!" Abigail also wanted to have the sessions as before, but she had gotten too busy, and with her new filming location, she didn’t know whether she could continue to have the session anymore without hiding it from Nicholas and Asher.
Even she didn’t know why she wanted to hide this fact from the two of them. Probably because Owen became her third eye candy?
Maybe....
Just as she was thinking about it, she heard the man saying, "I know you’re busy, but there’s good news. I’m coming to your country for a few months because of work. The hospital opened a branch there and shifted me there for a few months to stabilize everything. After that, they’ll transfer me back."
"So...." Abigail’s eyes widened.
She could see him once again face-to-face! He seriously reminded her of her doctor from her previous life, and she realized she missed seeing him after all this time!
Thus, she became even more excited! "So you’re gonna come here?"
"Yes..." Owen didn’t know why this girl was so excited by this news.
Won’t ordinary patients feel reluctant to talk to their doctors?
But then again, Abigail could hardly be called an ordinary girl anymore. She was anything but that.
Thus, Owen ignored her blatant excitement as he said, "Yes, but will your husband let you go?"
"Don’t worry!" Abigail patted her chest and said, "I’ve already told him about you."
It was just that she told him that her psychiatrist was a middle-aged man. Hah, how could she let her husband know that she also had another eye candy for her to stare at after him and Asher? The two of them were already rivals and fighting neck to neck in everything.
And recently, it even seemed they had another target to compete with, her! Both of them were acting weird, and she didn’t want even her doctor, Owen, to join the fray! Thus, she refused to let the two of them meet her psychiatrist and let the man remain her only eye candy to whom she could stare at all she wanted without getting attached.
Owen didn’t know what she was thinking and said, "Then, wait for me. I’ll let you know when I arrive in your city. Let’s have a consultation face-to-face after that. You may also take your husband with you if you want."
He was completely professional, treating her merely as a patient he wanted to treat. But he didn’t know she was only interested in staring at his face during consultation.
Thus, when she heard those words, her excitement seemed to have no bounds as she said, "Okay! Thank you, Owen!"
Just as she hung up the call, she found Nicholas already standing behind her, looking at her with his eyebrows raised.
Abigail realized what he wanted to ask as she coughed and explained, "That was my doctor, Owen. He called me to let me know that his hospital sent him here to treat the patients for the next few months."
Nicholas nodded. Even though he knew she had found a doctor with his mom’s help, he didn’t know which hospital the man belonged to, and honestly, he didn’t care as long as Abigail was fine. If her condition would turn worse, he would definitely find that man.
Sure, he wanted to go and find that doctor’s address, but then he thought his wife should have a little privacy. Thus, he let her be. After all, the doctor was probably a married middle-aged man, as she told him.
Until now, Abigail had never lied to him, no matter how many messes she created. Thus, he didn’t doubt her words and let her be. But now that she said that the doctor was coming here, he might find out a bit more about him.
What if that new doctor ended up one of the killers in that murderer’s group? At first, he wouldn’t take that doctor seriously because that middle-aged man was in another country, and he believed that the threat from him was probably lower because of distance.
But since he was coming here....
Nicholas’s eyes narrowed.
He might as well search a bit more about him.
Of course, he didn’t speak a single word about what he was thinking to his wife. He only nodded at her and said, "I paid for the food. Let’s go. We have to go for a photoshoot."
"Photoshoot?" Abigail tilted her head in confusion. Why did she have to go to the photoshoot when they had agreed to the premier?
"That’s for the premier. Don’t worry, you’ll be standing on the side." Nicholas explained in short. "I’ll be the one doing this shoot for the movie since I’m the producer."
Abigail didn’t understand the technicalities, but she still nodded. Then she got up, and they walked out together, entering their car as usual. The driver soon drove off to their new destination.
They soon reached the place where the shoot was supposed to take place. Nicholas entered as his assistant also arrived, carrying several things, such as a cup of coffee and a small bag. He also came forward and took the man’s suit in his hand, standing by the side with his small frame and pushed up his glasses.
Abigail watched her husband get busy with the make-up artist on the side as she stood there inside the make-up room with the assistant on the side.
The assistant turned toward her and hesitated before asking, "Ma’am, here."
Abigail blinked and looked at the cup of coffee in the man’s hand. She tilted her head. Just when did Nicholas get time to order this for me?
The assistant seemed to have realized she was confused and said, "Boss had already ordered me to bring you the same as him whenever the two of you are together."
"Oh..." Abigail felt her heart thumping in her chest as she cleared her throat and said, "Then... Thank you." She took the cup of coffee in her hand and started sipping the drink firmly.
