The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 388 - 390: I Have the Final Say in the Kenway Family
Jeanette Kensington stressed her point, then went home and threw a tantrum, smashing an antique glass vase in a fit of rage.
It was only now that she felt their engagement party had been far too rushed and had completely lacked any sense of occasion.
Especially since Caleb Bishop’s attitude toward her hadn’t changed in the slightest; he was the same as ever. She had thought their relationship would reach a new level, but in the end, all her excitement had been for nothing.
Furious, Jeanette Kensington collapsed onto the sofa, wiping away her tears.

Caleb Bishop’s talents were gradually becoming apparent. Under his leadership, the company’s performance was booming. The projects Jackson Kensington had worried were high-risk all yielded high returns. Jackson was overjoyed; his vision blurred as he counted the profits.
As he got older, Jackson Kensington felt increasingly overwhelmed by the company’s affairs. He had never possessed a talent for business to begin with and had been running through the company’s old capital. It wasn’t until Caleb Bishop arrived that he finally began to see a glimmer of hope.
Jeanette Kensington was solely focused on becoming a famous actress and had no interest in running the company. Jackson, therefore, turned his attention to Caleb Bishop, viewing him as his successor.
Caleb Bishop had previously asked for the CEO position, but Jackson Kensington had always refused. Now, however, Caleb was engaged to Jeanette, making him practically one of the Kensington family. Besides, Jackson held the majority of the shares; even if he gave the CEO position to Caleb, ultimate control of the company would remain in his hands.
Jackson Kensington called an emergency meeting to address the matter. Most on the board of directors were in agreement. They only cared about profit, and since Caleb Bishop could bring the company greater returns, they had no reason to refuse.
But there were a few hard nuts to crack.
Saul Linton shot to his feet, stroking his beard as he cursed, "Jackson Kensington, you ungrateful bastard! Rose entrusted the company to you, and not only have you done nothing of note, you’re about to hand executive power over to an outsider! How can you face Rose after this? How can you face your father-in-law, Vincent Kenway?!"
"Caleb is my son-in-law! How can you call him an outsider?!"
"Hmph. In any case, he has no connection whatsoever to the Kenway Family!"
Jackson Kensington slammed his hand on the table. "You’d better remember this! I am the chairman of this company now! The age of the Kenway Family is long over! If you miss them so much, why don’t you go join them in the ground!"
Saul Linton was so furious he could barely stay on his feet. He threw open the conference room door and stormed out. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Saul Linton was one of the original board members who had started the company with Old Mr. Kenway. The two had been extremely close, and Saul frequently clashed with Jackson Kensington, their arguments sometimes even escalating to physical fights.
Saul Linton owned a significant portion of the company’s shares, and his abrupt departure brought the board meeting to an early close.
After everyone had left the conference room, Jackson Kensington angrily smashed a glass. "That old bastard! He’s got one foot in the grave, so why isn’t he dead yet?! He’s always there, trying to control me! Who the hell does he think he is?! And who were Rose Kenway and Vincent Kenway to him? They’ve been dead for years! I’m the one who calls the shots in this company now!"
Caleb Bishop walked over and offered him a cup of tea. "Uncle, please calm down."
Jackson took the cup and had a sip. He patted Caleb Bishop’s hand. "Don’t you worry, my good son-in-law. His defiance won’t last long. I’m still the one in charge of this company!"
As soon as he finished, he couldn’t resist muttering another curse. "A bag of old bones... who knows how many years he even has left!"
"Understood," Caleb Bishop said. "Then I’ll have to trouble you, Uncle."
Jackson said, "We’re family. There’s no need for thanks. You don’t have to be so formal."

"Out with it. What is your goal? What will it take for you to leave me and my son alone?" Gemma Chambers asked, her face cold. The man across from her bore at least a passing resemblance to her, though she would never deign to admit it.
’This wasn’t her son. He was just a filthy person, with filthy blood in his veins, who had come for revenge.’
"What’s the rush?" Caleb Bishop took a sip of his coffee. With his elegant posture, he looked as if he had long since assimilated into high society.
Gemma Chambers looked much more haggard, with faint dark circles under her eyes. Nevertheless, she sneered, "Do you really think draping yourself in the trappings of the upper class makes you one of them?" She chuckled, covering her nose. "A pity. No matter how thick that veneer is, it can’t hide the stench of your filthy blood. The lowborn will always be lowborn. Don’t delude yourself into thinking a sparrow can become a phoenix!"
Caleb Bishop started laughing too, throwing his head back as if he’d just heard the funniest thing in the world.
Gradually, the smile vanished from Gemma Chambers’s lips. "What are you laughing at?" she asked coldly.
"I’m laughing at you. Your downfall is imminent, and you still have the nerve to act superior and look down on people?"
"So you’re admitting it? You were the one who reported our company for tax evasion?"
"I never denied it."
Gemma Chambers flung the steaming coffee in her hand into Caleb Bishop’s face, her eyes filled with utter disgust. "After all, I’m the one who carried you for nine months and gave birth to you! Is this how you repay me? You heartless monster!"
Caleb calmly took out a handkerchief and wiped the coffee from his face. A faint flush had appeared on his fair skin, but he was still smiling. "You abandoned me in the middle of nowhere. You gave birth to me but didn’t raise me, yet you expect me to grovel at your feet like some wretched dog?" He scoffed, his eyes turning ice-cold. "There’s no such sweet deal in this world."
"I always knew you were just like that disgusting father of yours. You’re both ungrateful wretches! I gave you life, I suffered so much to bring you into this world, and all I get in return is your revenge! If I had known then..."
Caleb stared at her, his gaze frigid. "Is that your so-called ’kindness’? Abandoning me in the wilderness to fend for myself? When I was a child, I was hungry, cold, and beaten. When I grew up, I was isolated and despised because of my background. I fell in love with someone, only to be tormented by my own low self-esteem. When I first started at the academy, people looked down on me. Some even attacked me for no reason. It was only later that I found out they were following your orders."
"What do you take me for? A dog to be summoned and dismissed at will? A punching bag for you to vent your frustrations on? Or an enemy you couldn’t wait to dispose of?"
"If you had felt even a shred of pity for me, you would have aborted me before I was even formed, or strangled me at birth. You wouldn’t have let me suffer so much only to demand my eternal gratitude."
"Don’t say another stupid word about how I should be grateful just because you gave birth to me. You have absolutely no right."
Gemma Chambers clutched her handbag, her eyes cold. "So you’re saying you have no intention of stopping?"
"The real show is just getting started. Wouldn’t it be too soon to stop now?"
Gemma Chambers stood up in a fury. "You won’t be gloating for long. Even a starving camel is bigger than a horse. Don’t think that just because the Chambers Family has fallen on hard times, we’re completely helpless against you!"
