Chapter 335: Chapter 335: Cry a Little Quieter Later, I’ll Get Annoyed If I Hear You

Naomi Kenway had been annoyed with him for a while, so when she heard his snide remarks, she immediately clapped back.

Christina Lynch looked stunned, apparently not expecting Naomi Kenway to lash out so bluntly and leave him with no dignity whatsoever.

His face flushed red with anger as he pointed a trembling finger. "And you think you’re justified? You deliberately sabotaged the message to ruin things for the Blue Team! If it weren’t for you, how could we have lost so badly?!"

"You’re the one who ruined it. It’s bad enough that you’re deaf, but your comprehension is terrible too. You single-handedly dragged down the entire team, and now you have the nerve to use the team as an excuse to make snide remarks at me? Christina Lynch, have you no shame?"

"You!!"

River King quickly stepped between them, trying to smooth things over with a smile. "It seems everyone is taking this competition very seriously. Losing one round is perfectly normal. We still have other games to play."

Yara Preston couldn’t watch any longer. She chimed in with a teasing smile, "Best Actor Lynch is truly on our side. Looks like you can’t hide your identity as our mole for much longer. You single-handedly turned the tide and helped the Red Team win!"

Christina Lynch’s expression stiffened. He shot back in disbelief, "What nonsense are you talking about? Why are you siding with Naomi Kenway and telling such blatant lies? I’ve heard for a long time that variety shows are scripted. Did your production team arrange this beforehand? Are you all ganging up with Naomi Kenway to bully the Blue Team?!" he reprimanded, his face stern.

Christina Lynch had rarely appeared on variety shows. He was very conscious of his status and would never stoop to chasing clout. He was participating this time on behalf of the film crew, ostensibly for promotion, but in reality, it was to shore up his fan base.

Seeing how clueless and rigid Christina Lynch was being, River King could barely maintain the smile on his face.

He had previously admired Christina Lynch for being willing to try a variety show to promote the movie. Now, he just found him arrogant, overly serious, and completely lacking any entertainment sense.

"So when you’re the incompetent one, you blame everyone else?" Wayne Wyatt said. "If you don’t believe me, go ask your teammates on the Blue Team. My goddess passed you a ten-word phrase, all correct. If you couldn’t hear it properly, don’t stand here blaming everyone and everything but yourself. You’re a Best Actor, for crying out loud. How can you be so petty?"

The moment he said this, everyone was stunned by his audacity.

Christina Lynch’s face twisted in fury. He snarled, "Shut up! You’re Ms. Sherman’s son, which makes me your elder. By rights, you should be calling me Uncle. Is this how you treat your elders? You have no respect at all!"

"We’re not even remotely related, so stop trying to flatter yourself. Are you saying elders don’t have to apologize when they’re wrong? Is pulling the seniority card all you know how to do, Uncle Lynch?" Wayne Wyatt’s sunny expression darkened. "My goddess has no beef with you. Why are you lashing out at people like a rabid dog?!"

Christina Lynch was so furious he nearly smashed his microphone. He gripped it tightly, staring menacingly at Wayne Wyatt.

A Blue Team member, Sue Joyce, couldn’t stand it anymore. She said, "Mr. Lynch, we all saw what happened. Ms. Kenway passed on the message perfectly. She definitely didn’t sabotage it. You’ve really misunderstood."

Christina Lynch stared at her in disbelief, questioning whether she was telling the truth.

The other Blue Team members also began to speak up for Naomi Kenway.

Christina Lynch was finding it harder and harder to save face. His furious expression gave way to panic. He coughed a few times and averted his gaze. "Well, it’s for the best that she didn’t."

This was his attempt to just gloss over the whole incident.

Wayne Wyatt frowned at him, voicing the question on everyone’s mind. "...And that’s it? You falsely accuse someone, and all you offer is a single flippant remark with no follow-up?"

Veins throbbed on Christina Lynch’s forehead. He looked like he wanted to say something, but held his tongue.

Naomi Kenway let out a laugh, her eyes flicking toward Christina Lynch. "Forget it, Noah. I’m used to it. Besides, our Mr. Lynch has pulled this stunt more than once. The funniest part is how he’s always attacking me for being ’unfair,’ but now that he’s the one who’s falsely accused someone, he just tucks his tail between his legs and stays silent."

Christina Lynch was so incensed by their coordinated attack that he could barely breathe, his chest heaving violently.

The host, River King, stepped in to smooth things over again, and all the guests went backstage to change for the next game.

After getting off stage, Christina Lynch went straight to the director of "Happy Saturday." He demanded that the director cut the recent segment to avoid any negative impact on his image.

The director nodded. "For the sake of the broadcast’s quality, we’ll cut it."

Christina Lynch nodded, satisfied. He then continued, "The audience members saw it too. Is there any way you can make sure they keep their mouths shut...?"

The director frowned. "Best Actor Lynch, you’re putting me in a difficult position. I can cut the footage, but what am I supposed to do about the live audience? I can’t control what they say. It’s not like I can threaten them into silence."

Christina Lynch fell silent for a moment, likely realizing he was asking for the impossible. He left with a frown.

In the dressing room:

"Goddess, how did you get on Christina Lynch’s bad side? It feels like he’s always targeting you."

Naomi Kenway paused, then chuckled. "Because he’s a despicable bastard, and he brings it on himself."

Sensing Naomi Kenway’s loathing for Christina Lynch, Wayne Wyatt dissed him a few more times before changing the subject.

Once the stage was set, the guests returned.

River King read the usual sponsor messages, then held up his cue cards. "Welcome back. Our next game is called ’Balloon Battle’! As the name suggests, it involves balloons. Guests will sit on a balance beam and use pillows to hit the balloons on their opponent’s body. The first guest to pop all three of their opponent’s balloons wins!"

"The game will be played in five rounds. The Red and Blue teams will each send out a member to compete. The team that wins the most rounds will be the overall winner of this game!"

The guests were fired up, rubbing their hands together as they discussed their strategies.

Yara Preston had played a similar balloon game before, so she shared some of her past experience with the team.

Naomi Kenway listened intently, nodding repeatedly.

The competition began.

Christina Lynch stormed onto the stage. Wearing the simple Blue Team uniform, he puffed out his chest. "I’ll go first."

The Blue Team cheered him on.

Christina Lynch’s gaze landed on Naomi Kenway. He pointed at her and said, "Naomi Kenway. You come out. I’m challenging you."

"Me?"

"Yes, you! Are you scared?"

Wayne Wyatt, who was wearing a red headband, couldn’t help but step forward. "I’ll take you on. What kind of grown man picks on my goddess all the time?"

Christina Lynch saw how tall and well-built he was, with defined muscles on his bare arms, and refused without a second thought. "I don’t want to bully a junior. I said I want to face Naomi Kenway."

Naomi Kenway stepped forward and nonchalantly agreed, "Fine."

"Goddess..."

Naomi Kenway stared at Christina Lynch, a smirk playing on her lips. "Try to cry a little quieter later. It’s annoying when I can hear it."

Christina Lynch sneered. "You talk a big game. Let’s see you back it up with some skill. Anyone can run their mouth."
