The Villain Is Destined to Die: But as the Creator, I know All Endings-Chapter 216: To Merlin Kingdom [2]
A few foreigners brushed past Leon as he walked through the busy night streets with his hood pulled low.
It was late at night, but the Oak Market never truly slept. Located on the edge of Shinra District Fifty-Five, it was one of the most populated areas in the city, especially after dark.
Midnight shops lined both ends of the road, as their lanterns cast a warm glow that kept the streets bright even past ten.
Leon moved quietly among the crowd.
Smack–!
"Hey, watch it, brat!" a man hissed as Leon bumped into him.
"My bad." Leon pulled his hood down slightly and apologized without hesitation.
The man paused, his eyes flicking to Leon’s face, then to the faint glimpse of hair and skin he had tried to hide.
"Tch. Foreigners," he muttered.
He shoved Leon with his shoulder and walked past with an irritated expression.
Leon didn’t look back, nor did he react either, he simply took the next turn at an unhurried pace.
Then a shout rang out behind him.
"Huh?! Where did my wallet go?!"
Leon’s lips curved upward.
He tugged his hood fully down and casually tossed a red wallet into the air, catching it with one hand while ruffling his white hair with the other.
He was already far enough away that no one paid him any attention.
"That was easy," he muttered.
As he passed a wooden storefront, his steps slowed.
He glanced at it, and the glass window reflected his appearance clearly.
Black leather boots, dark trousers secured with a waist belt. A rugged, full-sleeved white shirt covered by a black cloak.
Above his neck, he had slightly red colored eyes, a mute yellowish-white skin, and finally white hair.
Leon studied the reflection for a moment.
He had activated his skill [Mirage Persona], altering only his eye and hair colour. It was a minimal change, but psychologically, it created a massive difference.
Until he reached Evana City, this persona would remain active all the time.
Eula had even prepared false identities for him and for the others in advance.
"I still look good," Leon muttered under his breath.
Inside his head, a familiar voice spoke.
’Haru, pickpocketing is bad.’
Leon scoffed internally.
’Oh, come on. This is my persona now. I’m trying to immerse myself in the character.’
’By stealing money?’
’Yes.’
There wasn’t a trace of guilt in him.
’Anyways. What time is it, Rumi?’
There was a brief pause.
’It’s 10:16 PM. You still have time till they arrive. Also, based on your memories and my understanding of the geography, I’ve already optimized the shopping route for you. It would be much more efficient if you follow it.’
Leon stopped walking.
’...You did what?’
’I just organized everything.’
He nearly choked.
’You’d make a terrifyingly good personal AI assistant you know....’ 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Rumi’s tone shifted instantly.
’Do not compare me to those emotionless chatbots from your previous world. I am a True Spirit. So treat me as one.’
Leon sighed.
’Alright, alright. No offence, Rumi. But I already had the stores sorted out in my head.’
’Mine is better.’ Rumi stated flatly.
Leon clicked his tongue.
’You’re awfully proud of that.’
’As I should be.’
Leon shook his head with a faint smile and resumed walking.
"...Fine then," he muttered. "Lead the way, Miss Spirit."
He would meet with Ethan and Cyan at exactly midnight, he still had plenty of time to purchase some useful items for their journey.
Leon looked around.
The place he was heading to was rather famous... in a bad way.
He had to request Madam Ayaka, aka Sumire, the seventh head of Twilight Order, to grant him an access pass to this place.
’Walk straight on this path, and take the third left.’
Rumi guided him in his mind.
Leon trusted her and followed her navigation.
He doesn’t have his Moonblade with him right now, he was carrying his old double-edged silver sword.
Walking slowly, he took the third left.
The Oak Market was huge, it stretched over seven kilometres in radius.
The more he went inside, the less the population on the streets became.
This gave Leon an idea that he was on the right track.
After fifteen more minutes of walking and strictly following Rumi, Leon finally reached his destination.
He looked up to a three-story building just a distance away from him with a huge sign ’Luvo’s Casino’ written on it with white glowing text.
Leon straightened his head and slowly readied towards its entrance.
Three guards with barbaric metal swords in hand were stationed outside the entrance.
Upon approaching, one of the guards stopped Leon.
"Entry is prohibited without a Pass."
Leon smiled at him, and from his cloak, he took a black card with ’VIP’ written on it, and handed it to the guard.
"..."
The guard was slightly stunned to see the black card.
He read the name written on the card and glanced back at Leon, who was adjusting his hair.
"This is my first time seeing this name. Are you a foreigner?"
Leon nodded and played along.
"Yes. I am from Merlin Kingdom." He said. Then paused before introducing himself. "I am a merchant, travelling the world, the name is... Den Cooper."
This was the name Leon had selected for his journey.
With the help of Twilight Order’s connection, he was able to craft a fake identity for himself.
For Eula, this type of work was child’s play. She just needed to contact the Twilight Order’s base situated in Merlin, and from them, they actually created a whole new identity whose name was falsely included even in the official records.
The guards exchanged looks, as if asking each other if they heard this name before.
"Is there a problem?" Leon asked coldly.
The three guards stared back at his red eyes.
The VIP card was authentic, and the name written on the card matches as well.
The guard returned the VIP card, then all three bowed their heads to Leon.
"Enjoy your stay, Mr. Cooper."
