The Unveiling of Secret Queen-Chapter 1300: Are they alright?
Mr. Radcliff glanced at the man and woman outside, paused slightly, then withdrew his gaze and looked elsewhere down the street, hoping others would come.
The café selected by Jeremiah Bonette is situated in a bustling area of Beijing, yet the location is quite ingenious, offering tranquility amidst the chaos.
Although the café is adjacent to the road, it’s a one-way street near a residential area, bordered by tall Paulownia trees.
Usually, you only see people who live nearby pushing trolleys for grocery shopping on the sidewalk, with rarely a car driving in.
Aside from the black sedan he saw initially, no other cars have driven in at this moment.
Mr. Radcliff seemed a bit surprised, stretched his neck and looked around, then turned back and quietly said to the man, "Mr. Bonette, did you see wrong? How come I don’t see anyone coming?"
At this moment, Jeremiah Bonette was looking at Amadeus Yancey walking from outside towards them past the glass window, with his thick black eyebrows raised and eyes full of authority. His face showing surprise too, albeit slightly less than Mr. Radcliff: "No. Here he comes."
"Mr. Bonette, are you talking about the young man who parked just now?" Mr. Radcliff was quite reluctant to ask; to him, this was undoubtedly the worst result.
What is going on!
Even though that man looked young, at least he was an adult who had stepped into society.
The key issue is that there’s a girl beside him, and that girl... is she even a high school graduate? Mr. Radcliff was uncertain; he subconsciously thought their wise leader Mr. Bonette was momentarily muddled. Promised to find an expert to locate the ’Eagle Eye’, yet how did he end up bringing these two young greenhorns, isn’t this a joke?
If it were that easy for anyone to find ’Eagle Eye’, how come their detective team, with so many skilled personnel, tracked all night without any result?
If their technical staff couldn’t resolve it, could Mr. Bonette rely on two young people to solve it? 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Mr. Radcliff couldn’t restrain himself, "Can they do it?"
"Haven’t I taught you not to judge a person’s abilities by their appearance? Especially in our line of work, you should not judge by appearances. You follow me investigating cases, haven’t you noticed those extremely vicious criminals often appear timid and cautious, and behave honestly in daily life? Just because they look honest doesn’t mean they wouldn’t commit murder."
Jeremiah Bonette pulled out a packet of cigarettes from his pocket, extracted one, lit it and bit down, with his lips touching lightly, his body reclining with eyes narrowing into a sharp expression. He continued, "So it applies here too. You haven’t interacted with them yet, how do you know they can’t do it?"
Mr. Radcliff was rendered speechless by what he said, he couldn’t refute but privately didn’t believe him to be right.
"Criminals are criminals, they are them, how can these two matters be compared together? I’m not judging them by their looks, I just feel... they’re too young!"
"Especially the girl, Mr. Bonette, did you see the girl outside, I estimate she just graduated high school. How could she possibly be an expert in IP tracing? This is ridiculous. It’s not that I don’t believe, I just find it too implausible."
Jeremiah Bonette did wonder in his heart why Amadeus Yancey would bring such a young ’expert’. He thought the other party would at least select a team leader from The Ninth Institute, like Wallace Radcliff, who is relatively well-known in this field, or the emergent Mario Cagwin.
