The Unstoppable Comeback Of the Unrivaled Ex-Wife-Chapter 594
"We didn’t do anything! Maybe the blood loss was too much.’
"Blood loss?" Joanna’s head began to ache, and she demanded, "What should we do now? Will she be okay?"
"You have to rush her to the hospital for a blood transfusion. If not... it’ll be quite dangerous,"
the man in the white coat stammered. After all, she had such a big cut on her body, and it had bled profusely. In the past, all these men needed to do was cut open the body. They were never asked to sew up the injuries, so they weren’t prepared for such emergencies.
"I’m so sleepy. I want to sleep now..." Taylor’s voice was practically a whisper, and her hold on Joanna’s hand grew weaker.
"No, Taylor, wake up! Don’t fall asleep... Hold on just a little longer. I want to take you home so Quinton can meet you. He misses you very much, so don’t fall asleep." Regardless of what Joanna said, Taylor eventually lost consciousness.
Liam patted Joanna’s shoulders gently to comfort her. "Boss, don’t panic. What we need to do now is take her away. I’m sure Benjamin knows what’s going on."
Liam was right—at that moment, Benjamin had ordered half of the armed forces in the fort to surround the dismantling room.
"Dad, I’m begging you. Please let them go. I’ll listen to you as long as you let them go. I’ll take over your business and I’ll never disobey you. Please let them go..." Amber had been restrained by her father’s guards, and could only cry and scream helplessly.
"The three of them caused chaos in my fort, and trampled on my dignity and pride! If I let them go, I can never show my face in these parts again.’ Benjamin turned around and said to Mateo, "Keep an eye on her. The second they come out, shoot them. I don’t think they can escape the hail of bullets unscathed."
"No, Dad, please don’t! If you dare to hurt Liam, I’ll take my life!" Amber wailed desperately.
She knew that her life was the only bargaining chip she had.
"Silly girl, you’re young and haven’t met a lot of men. There are many men more exceptional than Liam. You don’t have to keep him alive since he doesn’t love you. You’ll find another man."
"I’m not joking. If you don’t want to lose your only child, show some mercy and let them go!"
"If you choose to stand against me, I don’t mind punishing my family for the sake of
righteousness." Benjamin’s cold gaze was full of ruthlessness.
At that moment, someone opened the iron door of the dismantling room.
Benjamin frowned, and without hesitating, he roared, "Fire!"
Bang! Bang! Bang! Endless bullets were fired at the person who came out of the room.
"No, don’t! Don’t fire! Stop!" Amber could not take it anymore. She struggled and bit Mateo’s arm fiercely before rushing towards the bullets.
Benjamin’s face paled and he shouted, "Stop!"
Finally, the hail of bullets stopped, but the person lying in a pool of blood had long stopped breathing.
’ Liam!" Amber’s eyes turned watery as she rushed towards the man lying on the ground.
She felt the breath leave her lungs, and her face went pale.
Liam pushed away the man in a white coat on top of him and stretched his body. He
sounded relaxed as he said softly, "Miss, stop crying. I’m still alive..."
The people who had been shot were the two ’surgeons’ in lab coats. Liam had hid behind them, so he had escaped unscathed.
Joanna was hiding in the dismantling room with Taylor, who had fainted. They did not come out for the time being.
"Master, you’re a bit cruel to your disciple. If it weren’t for these two, I would be dead by now,’ Liam said slowly, staring at the two dead men on the ground.
"How dare you fool me!’ Furious, Benjamin ordered, ’Aim your guns at him. Fire again!"
"No, you can’t do that!" Amber spread her arms out wide as she stood before Liam, and said seriously, "Dad, it looks like you don’t want your daughter anymore. Go ahead and fire. I’ll die with Liam."
"Damn it, you’re driving me mad! Come here now!" Benjamin had only one child. Even if he was a ruthless man, he could not bear to let anything happen to her. Gritting his teeth, he yelled, "He doesn’t even like you, but you’re willing to die for him. What are you trying to get out of this?’
"I don’t want anything. I’ll be fine as long as Liam is fine. I’ll be happy as long as he is. If he dies here in your hands, I’ll take my life and die with him immediately. Try it if you don’t believe me." Amber’s tone was firm, and she even took out the dagger she gave Liam previously and pressed it against her neck. "Go on! Give it a try!" 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Seeing that, Mateo became very anxious. His voice turned shaky as he tried to beg for mercy for Amber. "Master, Amber looks gentle but she’s a tough one. I don’t think she’s lying, so let’s not force her. If she becomes desperate..."
"Let her take her life if she’s that desperate! I’ll forget about that child. It’s fine as long as I have my foster sons with me." Benjamin clenched his fists and uttered, "It’s my fault. I protected her so much that I raised an indecisive fool. She interferes with my affairs, so I’d better give her up."
"Master, don’t say things out of spite. It’s just her first time falling in love, and she fell for a man who doesn’t deserve her love. She did nothing wrong. Please give her another chance.
When she grows up and becomes more mature, she’ll be sensible." Mateo risked infuriating Benjamin as he tried his best to persuade him.
"Dad, I’m an ungrateful child. I failed to become the kind of daughter you’re proud of. I don’t care if you hate me, I just want you to let them go. I’ll use my life as a bargaining chip. I’m begging you, please let them go..." Amber closed her eyes and uttered slowly, "On the count of three, I’ll slash my neck if you don’t let them go."
"How dare you!" Benjamin bellowed, "It looks like I’ve spoiled you too much ... You seem to think you’re indispensable! Go ahead and slash your neck. I’ll forget about even having you.
I..."
"One..."
"Go ahead. I won’t let them go even if you cut off your head!"
"Two..."
"Hmph! You’re lying. You know how much I hate being threatened!" "Three!" Amber called out, and closed her eyes as she pressed the dagger into her skin.
