the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 971: Richard Shaw, the Great Demon King with Horns on His Head
So Richard Shaw accepted the fact that Crystal Landon had moved into the Shaw Mansion, thinking of her as a sister. Instantly, their interaction seemed much smoother.
But in the next second, his sharp eyes caught a pink bedsheet, and when he saw a dusty ashtray and cigarette box among the clutter, his temples started to throb violently. He said sternly, "You smoke?"
Crystal raised an eyebrow at him. Wasn’t smoking a hallmark of being a bad kid? She only smoked when she was extremely unhappy. Although she heard it was bad for her teeth, she thought her rebellious phase was about over, and for the sake of beauty, she planned to quit. She didn’t really have a nicotine addiction; smoking was just for show.
Caspian Howard didn’t smoke either. Every time he saw her reach for a cigarette, he’d chase her around and beat her until her head was covered in bumps.
"Great Crown, but I don’t feel much from it. Your cigarettes are better. From the lit end to the filter, they reek of strong masculinity." She faked a smile, her brows and eyes full of defiant wildness.
Richard Shaw took a deep breath and directly confiscated her Great Crown cigarettes and lighter. His handsome face darkened slightly as he said, "Since you’ve moved into the Shaw Mansion, let’s get the rules straight!"
Crystal was stunned for a moment. What? Rules?
Richard Shaw began listing a slew of rules: "First, every time you fail an exam, a thousand bucks is docked. Second, for the following behaviors: fighting, smoking, drinking, dressing provocatively, bullying, clubbing, or any misconduct—caught once, a thousand bucks is docked. Third, not coming home by ten in the evening, a thousand bucks is docked. Fourth, will add more as needed."
Holy crap, docking money? Crystal was completely dumbfounded by these one-two-three-four rules.
The man smirked coldly without showing it. He had already seen her little booklet with her pocket money written in it. Five thousand a month for pocket money, with every expense clearly listed. It was apparent she was a little penny pincher; docking her money was more effective than beating her.
For the elite offspring of the Imperial City, five thousand a month isn’t much. When Richard Shaw was still studying, the old lady would give him ten thousand a month, but he didn’t spend much. His private money was all handed over to his brother, Ignatius Leclair, to manage.
The Leclair Family’s Crown Prince’s expenses ran into millions, looking at his mere ten thousand a month allowance, with a lift of his phoenix eyes, was sheer mockery. He didn’t bother engaging, as long as the old man made money out of money for him. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Financial management wasn’t his forte, always handled by the old lady. After he became an adult, she handed him the account book and the storeroom keys, which he kept in a safe and never touched.
The Shaw Family didn’t build their fortune from business, not as wealthy as the Leclair Family’s Crown Prince, yet from generation to generation, all joined the military, and the accumulated foundation from these generations was not to be underestimated, mostly antiques and real estate.
For the Shaw Family, with military merits towering like mountains, there were very few places to spend money. Almost everything, from major expenses to daily needs, could be reimbursed.
Therefore, Richard Shaw never had to worry about money matters.
But the Landon Family was evidently different. They were business-oriented, not very large in scale, just barely standing out among the prestigious families in the Imperial City.
As the youngest daughter of the Landon Family, it seemed reasonable for Crystal Landon to be a little penny pincher.
"Tomorrow I’ll buy you a full set of high school exam revision papers. Starting tomorrow, congratulations, you’re entering a devilish review mode." Richard’s handsome, cold face flashed a hint of a sneer. In Crystal’s eyes, he was the Great Demon King, completely blackened, with black horns over his head.
