the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 970: Overwhelming Sense of Aggression
"Whatโs up with men, do men get to smoke and hit women? Iโm still your fiancรฉe, you know." Crystal Landon said defiantly. ๐๐ป๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐ฃ๐ค๐๐๐ต.๐๐ค๐ข
Richard Shaw was at a loss for words, as someone who was naturally reserved and not good at arguing.
For years, bearing the responsibilities of the Shaw Family, smoking was just a way for him to relieve stress. But discovering the young girl beside him imitating him by smoking left Richard Shaw speechless.
The man let go of her, only to see Crystal Landon turn around and leap onto his back, biting his neck.
Richard Shawโs face turned grim, whatโs this, a dog?
On the way back, neither of them said a word.
Crystal Landonโs eyes reddened, feeling as if her butt was swollen from being hit, sitting was uncomfortable, and she kept twisting and turning, which irritated Richard Shaw.
"Are you a caterpillar?" Richard Shaw parked the car at the Shaw Mansion, suddenly speaking with some grit in his voice.
"Wouldnโt you feel uncomfortable if you got slapped by a rough man with muscles all over?" Crystal Landon said coldly with a sneer on her face.
Richard Shaw: "..."
The man noticed the red marks on her wrists, left from when he restrained her earlier, and it made him a bit silent. His grip shouldnโt have been that strong, yet her wrists were swollen and red. A light touch left such marks? Richard Shaw felt a bit regretful and said in a deep voice, "You go inside first, Iโll get you some medicine."
Crystal Landon dragged a suitcase inside, chatted briefly with the old lady, then went to take a bath. Seeing her skin all red and swollen, she cursed Richard Shaw from top to bottom.
When the man came in, he saw the tender young girl wearing an oversized T-shirt, exposing her legs while sorting her suitcase, with the bed covered in her belongings.
The man coughed lightly, placing the ointment he bought on the table, his tone softened slightly but still carried a hint of coldness, saying, "Crystal, remember to apply the medicine."
Richard Shaw had been living a military life for a long time, accustomed to a rugged, black-and-white, minimalist style. Seeing the room overwhelmed with pink was a bit of an aesthetic shock.
Crystal turned her head, seeing him standing tall and strong in the room, with well-defined muscles faintly visible through the T-shirt, and a face unlike the usual young masters, handsome yet sharp like a finely honed weapon, truly an intimidatingly rough man.
Crystal nodded, once again confirming that he was like a hard, cold stone.
"Can you help me buy some college entrance exam papers and review books, I need to recover." She said with a hum, getting up to take the clothes out of the suitcase one by one and stuffing them into the wardrobe.
The room was entirely decorated in the style she liked, with a pink and white princess theme, a large space with distinct areas for the bathroom, balcony, dressing room, and bedroom, like a suite.
Every year, Crystal would stay with the old lady for a period, treating the Shaw Mansion as her second home.
But since Crystal was twelve, Richard Shaw hadnโt spent much time at the Shaw Mansion, so they rarely had a chance to meet privately.
Richard Shaw responded faintly with an acknowledgment. He had no siblings and once considered selecting a promising child from a collateral branch to stay by his grandmotherโs side. However, the old lady refused, preferring Crystal from the Landon Family, making everyone envious of how well she treated her.
The man pondered that there was a six or seven-year age gap between him and Crystal Landon. If the old lady liked her, adopting her as a granddaughter wouldnโt be bad; having an extra sister wouldnโt hurt. There was no need to sacrifice his marriage to take care of this young girl.
