the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 968: Is What You Call Love the Way You Treat My Fiancé, Sister?
Clark Landon felt a bit helpless. During the years he was studying, he rarely came back and had no idea that his sister would turn out to be so rebellious. She was obviously very adorable and sweet when she was a child. By the time he realized, Crystal Landon had already gotten used to acting on her own accord, caring little even about the reputation that girls usually value the most.
"I’m just going to stay with Grandma Shaw for a while. Richard Shaw only has a month off; he’ll be back at the Military District soon. Help me take the luggage downstairs." Crystal Landon pointed to her suitcase and then went downstairs to find Richard Shaw to help move the luggage. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
There was no one in the living room. The suitcases had also been taken away.
When Crystal Landon walked out of the living room, she saw outside the door Clark Landon and Richard Shaw standing in the night, the soft light from the wall lamp casting a tender glow on Clark Landon’s gentle and elegant face.
The man’s face was hidden in the interplay of light and shadow, not very visible.
Clark Landon’s gentle voice carried through the night, "Over the past few years, I’ve sent you some things from the United States. Did you receive them?"
Richard Shaw spoke with a cold and deep voice, "The Military District is often in closed training, and because of various missions, things from outside are withheld layer by layer."
The implication was that he hadn’t received a single thing.
Clark Landon felt a bit desolate. With the Shaw Family’s influence, if he had really wanted to receive something, who could have stopped him? He just didn’t want them, that’s all. She wanted to ask if he really planned to marry Crystal Landon, but couldn’t bring herself to ask.
She was also a daughter of the Landon Family. Why would the old lady choose Crystal Landon over her? Compared to the idle and unrefined Crystal Landon, she was more suitable to be Mrs. Shaw.
Moreover, Richard Shaw’s opinion wasn’t even considered in the engagement matter.
Once a handsome young boy, now so calm, transforming into one of the most exceptional young men in the Imperial City; in a few years, he would surely reach a position that the rest of the city’s elite could only look up to.
"I remember you always liked gentle and soft girls. Do you really intend to marry Crystal Landon?" Eventually, Clark Landon couldn’t hold back and asked.
Crystal Landon held her breath; on the other side of the door, it suddenly felt like there were mountains and seas between them. She also wanted to know the answer.
"Crystal, how much stuff did you pack in the suitcase? It’s so heavy." As Clark Landon carried the suitcase downstairs, he asked, "Why are you hiding behind the door?"
Crystal Landon, about to hear Richard Shaw’s heartfelt answer, was interrupted by Clark Landon, and she felt so upset she could bite him. She glared at him fiercely.
Richard Shaw and Clark Landon heard the noise and walked in.
Clark Landon’s expression was somewhat unnatural, while Richard Shaw remained calm and indifferent. He took the suitcase from Clark Landon’s hand and stuffed it into the car’s trunk.
"Crystal, how long will you stay at the Shaw’s?" Clark Landon asked awkwardly.
Crystal Landon looked at her sister, thinking about how she had just tried to sabotage her relationship. She curled her lips into a smile and said leisurely, "If I marry into the Shaw Family, I probably won’t come back."
Clark Landon’s face turned slightly pale. Seeing Richard Shaw hadn’t come in, she smiled gently, "You’re still so young; isn’t it a bit early to talk about marriage? You might not even know what love is yet."
"Is love supposed to be like how you feel about my fiancé?" Her delicate lips opened lightly, a sneering smile on her pure, charming face. She had forgotten which year it was, probably the year Clark Landon went overseas for study and Richard Shaw entered the Military District; she was still in middle school, upset about her sister going abroad and wanting to sleep together.
That night, Clark Landon’s door wasn’t closed, and when she reached the door, she heard Clark Landon crying.
