the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 928: For the Rest of My Life, I’ll Fight for Your Love and Never Let You Go
The sun sets in the west, and on the Thames River, boats keep coming and going. The twilight glow stains the river water, half of it shimmering, half red.
Delphine and Ignatius Leclair sit on a bench by the riverbank, feeling the river breeze and gazing at the distant ferris wheel.
"There’s a ferris wheel." Delphine leans against the man’s sturdy shoulder and says softly, "They say that watching the sunset from a ferris wheel in the evening is the most beautiful moment of the day."
"Do you want to see it?" the man asks in a low voice.
Delphine shakes her head, her black and white eyes revealing a hint of smile, and says, "If it were Leah, she would definitely go on the ferris wheel. I’m afraid of heights."
"Don’t worry, I fear my wife." Ignatius Leclair smiles and says softly, "So we’re a perfect match."
Delphine reaches out to touch his forehead, seeing that he’s clear-headed, her lips curling into a smile. She is defenseless against these sweet words.
Since their reunion, both have unknowingly discarded all distracting people and matters, leaving more time for each other. They’ve taken so many detours and almost went their separate ways. They cherish every minute and second together.
"Actually, there’s something I’ve been hiding from you." After completing his check-up, Ignatius Leclair comes out somewhat silent, wrapping her in his arms and speaking softly.
Delphine squints her eyes and snorts coldly, "Don’t tell me you used to bring a little lover here for a walk?"
Ignatius Leclair smiles and says hoarsely, "You are the first and last I’ve ever brought for a walk."
He never considered marriage or having children before; Delphine was the biggest surprise in his life. It was she who let him experience the five aggregates of suffering in this world.
The man pauses, holding her tighter, and speaks softly, "That year, I made a deal with Magnus Leclair. I let you go, and he chose to sleep. Later, I broke my promise. In this lifetime, I will seize love and never let you go."
Ignatius Leclair originally wanted to confess about pretending to be Magnus Leclair, but changed his tone at the last moment. Now, he only wants sweetness with her and doesn’t want to deal with anything else. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Delphine feels a bit tender, speaking softly, "Then take good care of your surgery. There are so many places I want to visit that I haven’t yet."
"Yes, I’ll accompany you."
In the evening, Ignatius Leclair makes a phone call back to Malaysia.
Nathan Leclair is both surprised and delighted to receive the call. In the days Ignatius Leclair has been missing, the old man got ill again. After a brief period of silence, Malaysia has become lively again.
With Ignatius Leclair around, it seemed as if any problem could be solved. Nathan Leclair had a vague retreat in mind. But now, with the burden on his shoulders, he deeply feels its weight.
"Brother, where have you been these days? We’ve been looking for you everywhere. Grandpa is sick with worry. Did Delphine find you?" Nathan Leclair has been so busy these days that his feet haven’t touched the ground. Given Ignatius Leclair’s rather tricky condition, Arthur White and the others didn’t swiftly pass the news back to Malaysia, leaving Nathan Leclair completely in the dark.
"Yes, I’ve seen her." Ignatius Leclair sits on the balcony, listening to the mundane hustle outside, and says in a low voice, "Ayang, I’m going to have surgery in the United Kingdom. I’m entrusting Grandpa to you. If I don’t return to Malaysia, then the Leclair Family will rely on you."
"What do you mean by this?" Nathan Leclair’s voice changes instantly, urgent as he says, "What do you mean by not returning? Explain it to me clearly."
Ignatius Leclair briefly explains the situation, leaving Nathan Leclair sitting on the ground, his heart cold and sinking.
