the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 905: You Finally Found Us
Griffith’s words almost confirmed the locals’ claims. That year, after he was diagnosed with the illness, he likely felt overwhelmed and came to the mountains for a vacation, where he happened to encounter an injured elk, which led him to post such updates on his social media.
Delphine hung up the phone, thinking of the many events since Ignatius Leclair left over a month ago, events that were truly a mix of joy and sorrow, indescribable in words. It was her choice to leave, so even if she was angry, even if she found him, she had no right to question him.
That night, Delphine tossed and turned, unable to sleep. But the next day, Richard Shaw did not appear. The two waited until the afternoon, and by evening, an unfamiliar call came to the hotel phone. The landlady at the reception was taken aback, then approached them, asking, "Miss, are you really going to work as a caregiver? They say the gentleman of that house has a terrible temper."
The town was so small, and the high-paying caregiver job was known even to the hotel’s landlady.
Delphine was startled; she had already forgotten about this matter and didn’t expect the other party to call the hotel.
"He said he’s at the hotel entrance," the landlady said.
Delphine left the hotel and saw a man by the second-hand SUV. He was tall, muscular, and efficient, wearing a cap. The man was smoking, and upon seeing Delphine, he was initially stunned, then quickly stubbed out the cigarette, saying in surprise, "Miss Delphine?"
It was Richard Shaw, who had been missing for over a month.
Arthur White came out from the hotel just then, and upon seeing Shaw, his eyes instantly reddened. The usually calm man rushed up and grabbed Shaw, angrily saying, "Shaw, where the hell have you been these days? Where’s Ignatius?"
After searching for more than a month, Arthur not only had to manage the group’s affairs but also took care of Delphine’s safety and daily needs. He had been searching relentlessly, and with the Howards’ keeping it a secret, he was so infuriated upon seeing Shaw that he wanted nothing more than to punch his face in.
Richard Shaw, a former special forces soldier, didn’t resist when Arthur grabbed his clothes and said in a deep voice, "You finally found us."
Remembering that post, Delphine’s heart instantly sank, and she asked, "Where’s Ignatius Leclair?"
"Ignatius is in the mountain vacation house," Shaw replied.
"Then hurry up and take us there," Arthur demanded.
Shaw hesitated and said, "Ignatius doesn’t want to see anyone, especially not Miss Delphine."
"What the hell does that mean?" Arthur’s face turned livid, and he angrily said, "You just left with Ignatius without a word. Do you know how hard it’s been for us searching for you? Ignatius lost hope, and so did you? What use are you?"
Richard Shaw knew he had done wrong, but Ignatius Leclair had saved his life, and he had sworn an oath. Now scolded, he dared not make a sound.
Upon finding them, Delphine’s eyes filled with tears. For over a month, she hadn’t eaten or slept well; the burden in her heart finally eased. She calmly said, "Arthur, inform the fourth and Richard, tell them we’ve found him. Have the brain surgeons fly to the United Kingdom. Shaw, tell me about Ignatius’s condition."
"Alright." Shaw also breathed a sigh of relief.
Shaw bought some daily necessities and food, then drove the second-hand SUV to take them into the mountains, briefly explaining along the way, "Ignatius’s brain condition has worsened, pressing on his optic nerve, and he’s completely blind now. Over the past month, his temper has worsened, and his migraines have become more severe. Sometimes, even I couldn’t control him."
Shaw had deliberately made a high-profile appearance in the town and even posted that notice seeking a caregiver as a way to attract attention. He couldn’t go against Ignatius’s orders but didn’t want to see Ignatius’s condition worsen and die in an unknown wilderness. Fortunately, they were finally found; as long as Miss Delphine was here, there was still hope for Ignatius.
