the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 899: The Young Ignatius Leclair Was a Lonely Soul
Nearly twenty hours of international flight. Last night, Arthur White printed out all the old content from Ignatius Leclair’s social media accounts, so that Delphine could review them on the plane.
Ignatius Leclair’s social media has not been updated for over ten years.
Delphine began going through the thick stack of printed papers, starting from his very first post.
At six years old, Ignatius Leclair registered his social media account for the first time and posted his first message, which was about his mother: "From now on, this is Jane and my new home."
The accompanying image showed a small two-story white house on a green lawn, with a young and beautiful Lara Howard crouching beside the handsome six-year-old boy for a photo, and purple flowers blooming on the white fence in front of the house.
Both the mother and son had radiant smiles, seemingly filled with endless anticipation for their new life.
Delphine reached out to touch the image of the six-year-old Ignatius and suddenly realized that Nicholas looked a lot like Ignatius. However, the Ignatius who smiled so brightly in his youth had become cold and deep in adulthood, almost never smiling. Time indeed is the most ruthless sculptor.
The late Mrs. Leclair, Miss Lara Howard of the Howard Family, was indeed a rare beauty in her youth, with soft and delicate features, a warm smile, and a unique taste in her simple yet elegant attire.
Delphine stared at the photo for a long time, then continued to turn the pages.
Young Ignatius Leclair seemed to be a very lonely person, posting updates almost every day, mostly related to his mother or things he learned that day, with rarely any posts about friends.
Delphine spent four to five hours, going through Ignatius’s life from age six to fifteen, her eyes growing sore and her shoulders aching.
Arthur White handed over a glass of warm water and softly said, "Miss Delphine, take a break before you continue. This task is like finding a needle in a haystack; there’s no need to rush."
Delphine took a sip of the water and nodded. She had set aside all the information she found important, marking it with a pen.
"Let me look at his posts when he was fifteen." She said quietly, then continued browsing.
By the time Ignatius was fifteen, he had stopped posting his own photos. His social media updates had become a weekly occurrence, and he had amassed a large following. By this time, Ignatius had already begun to show his talent, becoming a radiant but reticent figure.
Delphine noticed a one-month gap in his updates, furrowing her brows slightly. It’s hard for a person to change their habits, and unlike the trivial daily records of ordinary people, Ignatius’s social media posts had evolved into a platform for summaries, with weekly reviews.
Delphine circled the time period and asked Arthur White, "Do you remember what happened during this time?"
"I would need to get off the plane to check Ignatius’s past records and medical history to confirm. It’s too long ago, and I wasn’t with Ignatius back then." Arthur White shook his head and said, "I started following Ignatius about a year later. Mrs. Leclair sponsored me to study in the United Kingdom, to accompany Ignatius. By then, he was already a genius sought after by major academies. After I arrived, others like old third came one after another."
Delphine nodded and made a note of this time.
Delphine’s knowledge of Ignatius’s mother, Miss Lara Howard of the Howard Family, was mostly through stories of her being an unattainable artist, philanthropist, and socialite.
Lara Howard sponsored many underprivileged children to receive an education, which was originally a small matter. But why, when Ignatius was in his teens, did she start selecting the most outstanding children from those she sponsored to come to the United Kingdom to study and accompany Ignatius?
