the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 893: I Know What It Means When a Man Lets Go
Delphine had already cried once in the afternoon, she didn’t want to cry, but at that moment, hearing Arthur White speak about Ignatius Leclair in such a calm tone, she suddenly couldn’t hold back.
In her heart, Ignatius Leclair had always been a man so strong he seemed almost demonized, but now he tells her that this man also has weaknesses, it’s just that he hides them, concealing his pain from the world, so no one knows.
If it were anyone else, finding out at a young age that they had a rare brain disease, they would probably feel a sense of injustice, unable to withstand such a blow, but he lived his life so brilliantly, in the South Sea, he could cover the sky with one hand, everyone respectfully called him Young Master Leclair.
"Ignatius Leclair disappeared, he gave all his assets to me, and even the custody of the child to me," Delphine said, choking slightly.
Griffith Squire had already glanced at the document on the table before, and casually picking up a page to look at was shocking enough, let alone an entire heap of assets.
That man always does things unexpectedly.
"What do you plan to do?" 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"I’ve had Brock Gray handle the divorce procedures for me and Ignatius Leclair, and then I handed all these assets he left me to his previously trusted think tank to manage, but many of the decision-making documents still need my signature. I plan to find him and bring him back." This is the conclusion Delphine reached after thinking about it all afternoon.
These vast assets were never truly hers, she couldn’t accept them so openly, especially since Nicholas and Benjamin can’t be without a father, and there’s the eighty-something-year-old grandfather, and the elegant and kind grandmother far away in the Imperial City. If they knew something happened to him, how heartbroken the old folks would be.
"And what after you find him? He chose to leave, willing to divorce you, probably just to accomplish something for you," Griffith Squire said lightly, "Delphine, I know what a man’s letting go means, if you can’t give him the feelings he wants, it’s tantamount to a second wound."
Delphine shook her head, hoarse and choking, "I must find him, he’s got such a bad temper, gave me all his assets, used to a life of comfort, without these, outside, he’d have to watch people’s faces, be bullied."
Griffith Squire saw her dark eyes red and swollen from crying, maybe even made sounds from crying, her voice became a bit hoarse, obviously overly worried. The stunningly handsome man reached out to hold her, softly comforting, "If you want to find him, then go, people always have to live for themselves."
Delphine leaned into his embrace, tears rolling down, softly said, "Griffith, you really are wonderful."
"I know I’m wonderful, too." Griffith Squire curled his lips into a wicked smile, saying, "It’s just a pity that someone is blind and never fell in love with me."
Delphine couldn’t help but laugh, wiped the tears off the corners of her eyes, then said lowly, "Thank you, you’ll find someone you love."
Griffith Squire smiled enigmatically, it seemed he had already found someone. So he hopes little Delphine will be happy, otherwise he would feel life had regrets.
That evening, Griffith Squire stayed for dinner, and Nicholas and Benjamin immediately gleefully hugged Griffith Squire on each side when they saw him, chattering and calling him uncle.
Griffith Squire played like crazy with the two little ones until late, then went back.
Delphine bathed the two little ones, changed into cute pajamas, and didn’t separate rooms, the mother and children slept in one big bed.
"Benjamin, did daddy ever say anything special to you?" Delphine asked her little daughter.
Benjamin tilted her little head, thought for a moment, and said sweetly, "Daddy said, I must listen to mommy, and he also said, Benjamin is the cutest girl in the world. Daddy praised me."
