The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 26: Shift in Attitude
Ian Rowe stared at her deeply, "The thing with the text last time was an accident."
Maya Monroe wasn’t afraid of his gaze at all, "What kind of accident? What accident?"
Ian turned his gaze away again and got back to his work.
With his noble demeanor, his indifferent expression always seemed a bit cold. From Maya Monroe’s angle, she could clearly see his high, straight nose and smooth jawline.
Maya Monroe didn’t appreciate the beauty before her, becoming more aggressive, "Why aren’t you talking? Are you annoyed with me now? Or was that text meant for someone else? I want to see which little vixen has captured your soul! Just wait for me to sort her out properly!"
Someone like Ian Rowe, born into wealth, always gets chased and flattered by others. Moreover, he has excellent skills himself. Being in such a high position naturally gives him a strong desire for control, making him most unable to tolerate interference and telling off from others.
Maya Monroe analyzed these points thoroughly, and she didn’t believe she couldn’t completely trigger Ian’s annoyance!
Vincent Summers observed Maya Monroe from the rearview mirror, thinking this woman was still as foolish as ever.
Ian Rowe hated being bound and instructed the most. Sitting in such a high position, even if he can appear somewhat modest, how could he just listen to others obediently?
Vincent didn’t understand what Maya was talking about with the text message, but he was sure it was Maya’s fault that she questioned if Ian had someone outside, thinking everyone was like her, eager to bind with other male celebrities for gossip.
Vincent felt a bit of schadenfreude, hoping to see Ian scold Maya next.
He would never consider himself human until he avenged the mastiff’s bite!
Ian’s eyes are beautiful, with long and narrow curves, but their usual intimidation makes few people look into them closely.
Ian slightly tilted his head to look at her, his expression somewhat inexplicable, "Does it matter to you that much?"
Maya Monroe’s cheeks were flushed from excitement, like delicate blooming peach blossoms, yet she was completely unaware, "Are you tired of me managing things already? It’s only been a while, and you’re already sick of me! No wonder you never send me a message or call. I thought you were busy with work but you were actually out doing something else! Ian, are you being fair to me!?"
Maya deliberately made her voice sharp, sounding like an unreasonable, nagging woman.
After comparing the beauty of the peach blossom with the person in front of him, Ian shifted his gaze back to Maya.
Maya’s eyes were slightly red, looking quite pitiful and endearing.
Does she really care about him that much?
"No, don’t overthink it."
Ian rarely explained himself, and this was the furthest he’d go.
Vincent was slightly surprised, so Ian actually backed down?
Vincent’s heart was like fireworks going off, feeling completely rattled.
Ian’s attitude towards Maya had changed; it seemed he needed to reevaluate her.
Indeed, Maya didn’t continue the fuss, believing Ian was already annoyed excessively, as he returned to his work.
The rest of the journey was silent.
Ian felt a bit unaccustomed to her sudden silence.
He recalled Maya’s earlier expression of dissatisfaction, wondering if she was hinting that he should message or call her more often?
Maya was thinking about what to eat that night, having upset Ian enough, there was no need to talk to him any further.
*
Maya eagerly tried out many new items.
The fact that she had embarrassed Ian made her quite happy.
Ian was sitting on the sofa, occasionally closing his eyes to nap.
He watched Maya try on various clothes, and noticed how her taste had suddenly changed, from her original love of bright, flamboyant outfits to a preference for a more simple style.
Seeing her come out in another new outfit, Ian’s eyes narrowed slightly.
The youthful, vibrant outfit paired with her bright, beautiful face was quite striking.
The off-white hoodie and pants looked clean and simple but were certainly not suitable for tomorrow’s birthday banquet.
The sales assistant strongly recommended, "This young lady is so pretty, anything looks good on her. Doesn’t this outfit suit you perfectly, full of vitality!"
The assistant also looked at Ian, "Sir, just look at how well your girlfriend wears this outfit!"
In fact, the sales assistant wasn’t unfamiliar with either Maya or Ian. The former was a fairly well-known actress, and the latter frequently appeared in financial journals.
Seeing them come in together, the sales assistant wasn’t surprised since it’s common for celebrities and wealthy figures to come by to pick outfits; it was not unusual.
"Not my girlfriend," Ian said indifferently.
So she’s a kept mistress then.
The assistant thought to herself but maintained her polite smile.
"She’s my wife."
Ian continued, "Let her try that outfit."
The sales assistant concealed her shock internally, surprised Ian, a person so successful, would marry someone with Maya’s bad reputation.
"Sir, you have good taste. This is a new piece by Master Roti from F Country."
Maya went to change again.
The burgundy vintage dress with pleated skirt and cinched waist further accentuated her slender, fragile waist.
Maya’s long hair was slightly curled at the ends, lazily draping over her back, the clash of black and red always vibrant and stunning.
The burgundy gentle-style dress highlighted her bright and bold temperament while smoothing out her sharper edges.
Ian finally nodded, "This one then, and wrap up all the other clothes she tried."
Vincent’s eyes widened slightly, filled with amazement.
Clothes make the man, as they say; how could a mere change of clothes alter Maya so much?
Vincent prided himself on seeing numerous beauties at home and abroad, yet this moment left him stunned for a few seconds.
Maya had no idea what they were thinking; after Ian paid, she ran over to him, holding his arm, "Honey, you’re so good to me, I knew I was your favorite."
Ian didn’t pull his arm away this time, only giving a faint reply.
Vincent followed behind with a pile of shopping bags, quietly muttering that Maya changed faces faster than flipping pages.
When they returned to the villa, Ian found Maya still asleep.
She had fallen asleep halfway through, and Ian didn’t wake her.
Vincent muttered disdainfully, "She fell asleep in the car, didn’t even wake up after reaching home, is Maya a pig or what!" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Vincent considered himself unlucky, ready to pull Maya out like cleaning up trash as usual.
Ian shot him a cold glance, "I’ll do it, handle the rest."
Vincent watched as Ian carried Maya away.
He couldn’t help but worry for himself, if Maya wasn’t favored by Ian she’d let the mastiff bite him, but if Ian started pampering her more, with Maya’s malicious nature she’d be ruthless against him!
