The Sweet Life of Superstar and His Goddess Wife-Chapter 105: Ruthless Li Congsheng
Chapter 105: 105: Ruthless Li Congsheng
"Bo... Boss..."
"I’m asking you, where is he?" Li Congsheng pressed the gun directly to the burly man’s temple, his eyes blazing with madness. If he didn’t hear a satisfactory answer, it seemed this man wouldn’t live to see tomorrow’s sun.
"I... I really don’t know." The burly man was on the verge of tears. "After the person came in, there hasn’t been a single sound or movement. No one has approached this place either. I truly don’t know how he disappeared. Boss, please, spare me! I promise I’ll do better in the future and never..."
"If you know nothing at all, then just go to hell!" Li Congsheng knew he no longer had any chance to rise again, so capturing Jiang Nuo was his last act of desperate revenge.
But now, that person had escaped. How could he not be furious?
If he couldn’t be at peace, no one else would be able to either.
Then, with a single shot, he silenced the man.
The burly man’s eyes widened in disbelief, dying with glaring resentment.
Everyone who witnessed the scene felt chills down their spines and quickly straightened their backs.
Ever since the Boss’s company ran into trouble, he seemed to have cracked under the pressure. He wouldn’t feel at ease unless he killed a few people every day. In just a handful of days, several of their brothers were already dead.
Now, everyone was living on edge.
One of Li Congsheng’s trusted aides, terrified that the wrath might turn onto himself, quickly stepped forward and said, "Boss, one of them is gravely injured, probably near death. The other one is just a powerless movie star—they couldn’t have gotten far. Within ten minutes, they’re sure to still be nearby. Let’s send some of the brothers out to search, and we’ll definitely find them."
"Since you’re so sure you can find them, I’ll give you a chance. If you don’t find them, you’ll pay with your life."
The trusted aide: "..." Did I just dig my own grave?
"What are you standing there for? Get moving!" Li Congsheng roared viciously.
"Yes, Boss." The trusted aide quickly picked a few men and divided them to search in the east, west, south, and north directions.
Another one of Li Congsheng’s aides shrank his neck: You don’t see me, you don’t see me, you don’t see me—important things must be said three times!
"And you, step forward."
Unfortunately, this aide wasn’t spared either; he was directly called out by Li Congsheng.
"Boss, what orders do you have for me?" *Sob sob sob*... I’m doomed too!
"How many years have you been with me?"
"Including this year, almost twenty years now."
"And you?" A third aide was identified.
"Nineteen years."
"Mm-hmm, how about you?"
...
"Oh, so you’re all veterans approaching twenty years, huh..." Li Congsheng nostalgically recalled the "glorious days" of fighting together, "All these years... you’ve worked hard!"
"Boss, it’s you who’ve worked the hardest. We runners have nothing to complain about." Years of following Li Congsheng had polished their bootlicking skills into proficiency.
"That’s right, it’s been tough. Feeding you, clothing you, and even paving your futures..." As he spoke, he poured a few glasses of wine and distributed them among his aides. "Tell me, without me, what would’ve become of you back then?"
"Without Boss, there’d be no us today."
"Exactly, exactly, Boss, you’re our provider and benefactor."
...
The aide sent out to capture Jiang Nuo hadn’t walked far before a group of police officers surrounded and apprehended him. He resisted desperately, trying to escape, but unfortunately, the police weren’t the forgiving type, immediately cuffing him.
"Hmph!" If it weren’t for the Boss sending him out to find someone, he wouldn’t have been caught so easily by these useless fools.
The Boss was sure to rescue him. Definitely!
When the time came, the Boss would take them abroad, where they could continue living their lives as "superiors among men."
He was still convinced that Li Congsheng would save him, especially since he was one of the trusted aides who knew so many of the Boss’s secrets—if he got into trouble, Li Congsheng wouldn’t be able to escape either.
With leverage over Li Congsheng, the more he thought about it, the more emboldened he became, certain nothing would happen to him.
However, just then, a series of explosions suddenly rang out not far away.
He was puzzled, thinking the direction of the sound seemed oddly familiar.
Moments later, his suspicion was confirmed—Li Congsheng’s villa had exploded, killing him instantly, along with a group of trusted aides who had followed him for years.
The only aide who survived was the one caught by the police.
Surviving aide: "..." Did I just cheat death?

The young boy was brought home directly by Jiang Nuo and Mu Qiuniang.
When Lu Mingchen received a call from his household-name celebrity dialing him to say they had returned home, he was taken aback. "Weren’t you missing?!"
"Yep, kidnapped. But my wife rescued me."
Even through the phone, Lu Mingchen could feel the smugness and pride radiating from someone a thousand miles away. "Sister-in-law Jiang really isn’t your average person, huh!" His tone was laced with sarcasm.
"Of course." Smugness amplified.
Lu Mingchen: "..." Truly no shame left in this guy.
"I’m just letting you know, so you don’t worry. I went through some thrills today, taking a break for a day, back to work tomorrow."
"Wait," could you at least not sound so carefree about this? Being kidnapped is a big deal, okay? Lu Mingchen hurriedly stopped him from hanging up, firing off a string of questions: "Shouldn’t you explain why you were kidnapped? Were you hurt? How were you rescued? Did the police get involved? Was anyone noticed...?"
Afraid the guy would hang up, he rattled off several questions in one go. Having dealt with this person before, he knew their track record in this area.
"Kidnapping reason? You’re the jinx. No injuries. Said my wife saved me. Reported to the police. Not discovered..." Jiang Nuo hung up.
Lu Mingchen: "..."
Do you have to answer this concisely? I don’t understand a single thing, okay?
Forget it, better to head to Jiang Nuo’s place directly.
But then again, which house is Jiang Nuo staying in with his wife these days?
At Jiang Nuo’s home.
The boy stared at the pale pink ceiling and the white walls surrounding him, even the cabinet doors were white, the wall paintings were white, and the bed sheets were white with subtle patterns. He didn’t know how to feel.
How come he didn’t know his idol liked white so much?
That overwhelming sense that he wished the whole world were white—what in the world was going on?
Some kind of secret quirk of the superstar?
Moreover, wasn’t the place they just entered an ordinary residential area?
Wasn’t this internationally famous top-tier movie star able to afford a villa?!
He couldn’t believe his idol was so broke—looks like he’d have to think of a way to help him out with money in the future. Counting the months left until he turned 18, he could probably gather a few hundred thousand, maybe even a million.
If worse comes to worst, he might as well "gift" the assets under his name to his idol. After all, once he’s dead, he wouldn’t be able to enjoy anything. His family probably wouldn’t miss that much money anyway.
