Chapter 11: Level 3

An order was something Ellie could not refuse.

She flew toward the hill without revealing herself immediately.

Meanwhile, Leonardo slipped into a hollow between the smaller rocks to hide.

Then, he revealed himself.

From there, he could still see the top of the hill clearly—and sense Ellie’s presence as she chose to fly behind the Golden Golem.

She landed on the gate’s chain and hid behind it.

It was a good position. After all, she would be attacking with her song, not physically.

Leonardo stared at the bottle in his hand, filled with red liquid.

He opened it and poured it into his mouth.

It burned his throat intensely—almost making him spit it out—but he had already prepared himself and forced it down.

The burning sensation quickly spread throughout his body.

It felt as though his attributes were falling into chaos.

DING!

(All of your attribute points have doubled but become unstable, requiring you to transfer them into a single attribute!)

(Please issue a command to determine which attribute all your points will be focused on!)

(Beast Buff Power!) Leonardo commanded.

<Statistik>

(Beast Buff Power: 6,6) +6,4

(Strength: 0)

(Defense: 0)

(Agility: 0)

(Intelligence: 0)

(Vitality: 0)

(Stamina: 0)

(Mana: 0)

Leonardo was shocked by the number.

6,6.

Even if he reached Level 5, one of his attributes might not reach that value.

But he also felt incredibly weak from losing all his other attributes. He was weaker than before—moving even a finger felt difficult.

Fortunately, activating Beast Buff Power only required a thought.

(Ellie, now!) Leonardo ordered.

Ellie appeared, her feathers standing on end. Her body even emitted a faintly oppressive aura.

Shock filled her eyes as she felt power far beyond her limits.

(Boss, this—?) she muttered unconsciously.

(Use all of it. Make sure that Golem dies!) Leonardo replied.

"HOO-hu... HOO-hu..."

Ellie began to sing immediately. Her voice was so loud, it was as though it were being played through massive speakers.

If this had been in Layer 17, the sound might have reached the Harvey Family’s village.

In other words, as Ellie’s power increased, the range of her song’s attack would also expand.

"Aghhh...!"

The Golden Golem suddenly screamed—thrashing and even jumping as it tried to cover its ears with its hands.

But it didn’t work at all.

It began to roll on the ground. Its hands moved to its chest—but it was powerless to protect its heart, located in a place it couldn’t reach.

Leonardo’s excitement surged when he saw blood begin to flow from the Golem’s ears and nose.

It was a monster with very little blood—so that must have been the blood around its heart.

"Aghhhh...!"

Its screams grew louder.

(Boss, it’s going to explode!) Ellie’s voice echoed—and then Leonardo saw the Golem spew blood. Not much, but perhaps all it had.

DING!

(Ellie has killed an S Class Monster Level 5 with Boss Monster status, obtaining 300 EXP!)

[EXP: 300/300]

DING!

(Ellie’s EXP is full, Ellie has leveled up to Level 3!)

[Monster List:]

[Name: Ellie]

[Type: Owl]

[Class: SS Class]

[Level: 3]

[EXP: 0/400]

DING!

(With one of your Monsters reaching Level 3, you have also reached Level 3. You have obtained 2 Evolution Points that can be distributed to your attribute statistics!)

Leonardo was surprised by the level-up—but he couldn’t care less about his stats right now.

The power of the Bloodflare Elixir was nearly exhausted, and fortunately, he felt no side effects beyond slight dizziness.

As the Golden Golem lay motionless as a corpse, Leonardo saw something glowing emerge from its body, pull the body, and enter the chained gate.

BANG!

All the chains suddenly shattered, and the gate began to glow—destroying the wall of light that prevented Awakeners above Level 2 from entering the hill.

DING!

(The 12th Gate on Floor 1 has been opened, slain by a Beast Tamer... The one who killed the guardian of the 12th Gate may now enter and claim your reward so this gate can become a teleportation route from Transmission World!)

The notification appeared on Leonardo’s chip—and he knew it had appeared to everyone else as well.

(Ellie, return to Invisible Mode!) Leonardo ordered, entering Invisible Mode as his statistics returned to normal.

Since the process was brief, he still had some Mana left. Otherwise, he would have had to run to the hill as fast as possible.

But since he could become invisible again, he moved calmly.

He thought about distributing the 2 Evolution Points he had obtained.

After a long moment of consideration, he decided to invest them into the three attributes he relied on most—Mana, Intelligence, and Stamina.

DING!

(Your statistics have been updated!)

<Statistik>

(Beast Buff Power: 0,2)

(Strength: 0,3)

(Defense: 0,2)

(Agility: 0,4)

(Intelligence: 1,1) +0,5

(Vitality: 0,3)

(Stamina: 1,1) +0,5

(Mana: 1,5) +1

With his statistics updated—especially Mana, which had increased significantly—the fatigue Leonardo had felt vanished instantly.

He felt refreshed. Powerful.

"Good," he muttered as he saw more Japanese Awakeners approaching—including the woman in the kimono from earlier.
