The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 336: Killing The Two Dire wolves
The moment Evangeline's words fell, Neraxis didn't hesitate to dash to the side, dragging his sword across the snowy ground.
And of course, with so many free stat points, he didn't hesitate to dump them into the stat that would make a drastic difference.
Free Stat Points: 158 → 0
Agility: 163 (+50) → 321 (+50)
Immediately, his body zipped forward, and if Neraxis hadn't been much stronger on the outside, he would have already lost control.
But in this case, he didn't. And after a few more steps, he appeared in front of the Infernal Dire Wolf.
It was a hulking wolf-like figure whose size almost neared that of a giant building. It had crimson fur with orange streaks scattered everywhere.
It had a few scars on its body, but the most menacing ones were on its nose, and even a single scar across its front left leg.
And yet, with every 5 steps Neraxis took, the Infernal Dire Wolf took one. That was why he was able to go under the Dire Wolf and begin slashing it with his sword.
It wasn't able to do much aside from stomp the ground in an attempt to crush Neraxis. But he was too fast for the wolf, so by being annoying, he consistently shredded its legs while dodging each stomp.
Yet as he was about to deliver a finishing blow to one of its ankles, he suddenly felt as though he was enveloped by something. And as he looked down, he realized a blood lasso had appeared around his chest.
Then, with a single yank, Neraxis was sent flying backward. Just in time, the Infernal Dire Wolf collapsed onto the ground.
Not because it was dead, of course, but simply because of what happened next.
Its body began shrinking and shrinking, until finally, its size was similar to the Spatial Dire Wolf the two of them had killed.
And yet, once it looked at Neraxis, he couldn't help but flinch.
Yeah... that one's a bit stronger than the other one, Neraxis deduced as he finally cut the blood lasso around his chest and skidded across the ground, landing right beside Evangeline.
"It powered up," Evangeline commented, taking a glance at the Frost-Nova Dire Wolf that was on the opposite side of the Infernal Dire Wolf.
It seemed like she had taken care of it, and while she didn't have a strong offense like Neraxis, Evangeline had a great balance.
She could attack, defend, and even support. If he had his actual abilities here too, then he'd be able to do the same. But still...
"I'm surprised you managed to make it power up as well," Neraxis remarked with a whistle as he stared at the shrunken Frost-Nova Dire Wolf. "How's your HP, are you hurt?"
"Nope, I heal too much." Evangeline giggled. "I did take a hit earlier from one of its ice attacks, but it healed within 20 seconds."
Neraxis's brow twitched. "I see... I guess we should finish them off somehow before they get out of hand."
Obviously, the ideal plan was to fight them separately. However, since both of them were smaller and powered up, Neraxis and Evangeline had no choice but to deal with them now.
And he had just the idea for that.
He turned toward the massive cliff nearby, and without wasting any time, he grabbed Evangeline's hand and took her there.
The Dire Wolves followed slowly, as if they had already cornered their prey. Yet with each step they took toward the cliff, the quicker they'd be killed.
After all...
I'll try to cut the mountain. I want you to lasso us onto a tree branch, Neraxis explained his plan before pointing to a certain structure. Or that big rock. If you could throw your lasso onto it, we'll definitely be safe.
Evangeline huffed a confident breath. [I'm known for my accuracy. You should've seen that when I flipped pancakes back in the Obscura headquarters.]
It was charcoal.
She flinched. [No it wasn't! I told you... I seasoned the pancakes with peppers, that's why they turned out so... crispy and dark.]
Neraxis rolled his eyes and didn't even want to argue. He had a taste of those particular pancakes after she left, and it was definitely radioactive.
Nonetheless, he stood at the front with his sword, and Evangeline was right behind him with her blood javelins and all sorts of other constructs she managed to manipulate.
As for the Dire Wolves, they approached slowly, yet their bodies began crackling with each step.
It was almost as if they were about to cast an attack of sorts.
Yet as Neraxis glanced down the cliff, he knew the only way they'd be able to survive that kind of fall was if they knew how to fly.
And clearly, from their lack of wings, they didn't know how to.
After a few more seconds, the Dire Wolves were practically in front of them.
That was when the Infernal Dire Wolf's body suddenly lit up, exposing a giant pair of magma pincers.
It was a weird addition, but it wasn't as weird as what the Frost-Nova Dire Wolf had done.
It literally grew a horn.
Yet he knew neither of them were something to joke about. After all, even if his mana was greatly suppressed, he could tell the fact that both of them were at their most powerful.
Therefore, without wasting any more time, Neraxis performed a single decoy attack.
[MP -100 100/2,200 (x1 Advanced Horizontal Slash)]
The slash flew at them, threatening to do absolutely nothing since they were so strong currently.
But still, since the Dire Wolves didn't exactly like being hit, they opened both of their mouths and chomped Neraxis's incoming slash, making it flicker and finally dissipate.
And yet, Neraxis didn't bat an eye as he suddenly pinched Evangeline's thigh.
A focused expression appeared on her face as she wrapped her arms around his body, holding on tight.
With that, Neraxis took a step backward, and the cold air immediately hit him as he began falling down the cliff. The two Dire Wolves looked down at them in confusion, yet before they could fall too far, Evangeline cast a few lassos around the trees.
Then, like a bungee rope, the two of them flew back up.
But before they dropped below the cliff's edge, Neraxis focused on the weakest part of it, which had several cracks, and without hesitation, used a single skill.
[MP -100 0/2,200 (x1 Advanced Horizontal Slash)]
His MP had completely run out. Yet the slash traveled and hit the bottom of the cliff. Then, to no one's surprise, a loud cracking noise resounded, followed by the entire cliff collapsing.
Neraxis glanced at the collapsing cliff as he finally arrived at the top, and in particular, he noticed two glowing figures scrambling on what was left of the collapsed cliff, trying their best to escape.
Yet it was too late, and with each passing moment, they plunged further into the abyss.
And soon, the long-awaited pop-ups appeared.
<DING!>
<You have slain...>
