The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth-Chapter 50: Rulers I
Chapter 50: Rulers I
He gasped and bent forward as the pain intensified.
Zorathian had punched him.
His anger boiled and he didn’t check it this time. His power roared through his veins and he threw a punch, but Zorathian just moved around him as easily as if Vacuse was a baby.
"Ah! Do you think you are something just because you have an SSS? Right now you are still weak! You’re not special, you spoiled kid. You are nothing but shit!"
Vacuse took quick breath, his frustration apparent in the way his face was squeezed and his fist trembled. He had thrown more than twenty punches and none of them connected.
To him, he was fast, faster than all the others at the same Advancement Stage as him, but compared to Zorathian, it was as if he was trying to catch the wind.
"I hear you’ve been sleeping all this while. One fight in the hall and you’re sleeping for four days. Are you sure it’s not the sleeping Dragon you have?"
Rith hissed angrily. ’..let’s use your second eye for that technique and make this puny thing knee to us!..’
Vacuse was breathing hard by the time he stopped fighting. His eye was hard and he seriously considered what Rith said. What he hated most was happening.
For him to be toyed with so easily because of power difference.
’...I can’t stop..stronger..I need to get more stronger!..’
Zorathian realized that Vacuse wasn’t throwing useless fights again and he laughed. "Tired so soon, spoiled kid? Is this the amount of power of an SSS rank? You should just return the ring and stop being an heir. You don’t deserve the Vorrakyn."
Vacuse’s eyes chilled as he heard the last statement and faint black lightning seemed to crack around him. The aura that surrounded him was that of anger and hatred. "The Vorrakyn doesn’t deserve me! I gave you bastards enough already. This time, I will take from you lots! I will use you all for myself!"
Zorathian’s eyes and those around showed their confusion.
It was then that Vacuse moved.
He used the technique that Harkon used to throw his sword where he would turn his power into spring-like inside the muscles of his hand and then release it.
This time he used it on the muscles of his legs and released it in one explosive burst.
Crack!
The ground shattered beneath him as he shot forward like a lightning bolt.
Straight at Zorathian.
Time seemed to slow down around them. He saw the surprised look on the guards’ faces, because for an instant, they couldn’t keep track of him at all.
Even Zorathian showed shock as if he didn’t expect it from him, but then he smiled.
He smiled.
Vacuse knew then that something was wrong, but he couldn’t stop his charge now.
Woosh!
The winds stirred violently as he blew past and just when he was about to touch Zorathian, the man disappeared.
He disappeared without leaving even a ripple behind!
Vacuse cursed internally, but he did have time.
’..incoming!..’ Rith shouted.
Vacuse didn’t even have the time to twist out of the way before something slammed into his head from behind with enough force to send him stumbling, and with his initial momentum, he slammed into the wall with a bone-crashing force.
His head throbbed painfully and his eyes watered. His previously closed eye opened with pain as if broken needles were on his eyelids.
He sprawled on the ground in shock.
When last was he humiliated and beaten like this?
Little wonder he was obsessed with growing stronger.
It stung and it’s not only physical pain. He could feel it deep in his heart. Getting constantly beaten down and humiliated does something to oneself.
But Vacuse forced himself to his feet and with his SSS powers, the pain was already fading memory. But the humiliation and embarrassment still stayed.
He understood then.
At first he thought Zorathian and Drenvar wanted to control him, but now he knew they wanted to break his will and instill fear into him. They want his self-esteem.
They don’t want a Dragon with its wings spread.
But one where they could use strings to spread its wings.
Zorathian laughed. "Ah! I bet for a moment there you thought you were something for a while then. That kick must have set your brain back to normal. Do you see it now? You’re not some special shit."
Vacuse didn’t say anything. His blood shimmered beneath his skin and his powers roared in his veins, but he didn’t say anything.
Zorathian seemed disappointed and sighed and waved his hand casually. "Ah! You’re no fun. Take him to his room and don’t let him out again until I said so."
Captain Yemi hesitated and then he bowed. "My Lord..."
Vacuse took a deep breath and turned away with a defeated look towards his door. He shivered and then he went away.
The guards exchanged looks among themselves and then they took position beside the door.
Inside the room, Vacuse’s eyes cleared. The dejected, defeated look on his face was gone.
’..what did you do brat..’ Rith asked, his neck turned to look at him with suspicion.
Vacuse smiled. "Just a small gift."
Meanwhile, the expression on Zorathian had turned thoughtful as he looked at the closed door.
"What do you think, Commander?" Captain Yemi asked.
Zorathian shrugged. "He’s got potential. But he thinks he’ll be the boss or something. I’ve seen his likes before, arrogant young masters who think they’re something. It’s always fun to humble them. Break them slowly until they’re like you want them.
"We’ll mold him into something more useful."
Captain Yemi bowed.
Zorathian’s eyes had a shine to them as he turned to go. ’...I’ll mold him into something I want...my weapon...Drenvar thinks the boy is his instrument but now, I can use him for my own goals...’
Zorathian smiled. His death was fast approaching and he already saw ways to turn things around. "What a humble guy."
But just then, he suddenly tensed.
