The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 184: He Always Moves Her to Tears
Because in her heart, friendship is more important than love; she values friendship more, and this friendship has been nurtured from childhood.
She is not someone who places love above everything else; she hopes that friendship and love can coexist.
There is a saying that is truly insightful: a friend can be a lifelong friend, while a boyfriend may not necessarily stay by your side in the end.
"Alright, I’ve got it."
Leo nodded and gently wrapped Holly into his arms.
Cecilia Bennett is very important to Holly, and this he remembers.
The little girl is surrounded by many friends, and although she cares about them all, she has never emphasized it this seriously before.
Cecilia Bennett is the first one, probably also the only one.
Of course, he would never neglect someone important to the little girl.
"Brother, I think you’re Santa Claus."
Holly’s lips curled slightly as she looked up at Leo, her eyes twinkling with the stars of joy.
"Why is that?"
Leo looked down at Holly, and his eyes glimmered with fragments of light.
"Because you are the best gift from heaven to me."
"Santa Claus delivers the best gifts to people, and you are my best gift, so you’re just like Santa Claus."
Holly blinked her eyes slowly as she spoke, her smile in her eyes especially bright.
Leo is her greatest gift of the year, without a doubt, the only one.
"You are too."
Leo ruffled Holly’s head, his voice overflowing with fondness.
Holly is the best gift heaven has delivered to him.
"Cecilia needs to adjust to the time difference, in a couple of days I’ll formally introduce her to you."
Holly said softly.
Leo nodded: "Okay."
When you love someone, you’re willing to introduce them to your best friends.
"Brother, this is for you."
Holly took out a braided red string from her pocket, opened Leo’s hand, and placed it in his palm, her lips slightly curled, accompanied by a playful smile.
"A little hair tie?"
Leo laughed; perhaps the little girl wanted to claim her territory.
Many girls like to give their boyfriends little hair ties as a way to declare ownership.
Most boys wearing hair ties on their wrists are because they have a girlfriend.
"Yes, I made it myself."
Holly blinked her eyes with a playful look.
Her hands-on abilities may not be the best; it took quite a while to braid this.
"Alright."
Leo put the red string on his hand, his smile genuinely pleased.
"It has my hair, and it carries my unique scent."
Holly said playfully.
She learned from online tutorials and followed the video to braid it; it took her about three days to complete, using quite a bit of hair.
When it comes to small handicrafts, Holly’s hands-on abilities aren’t strong; sometimes she really feels like she’s useless.
"Yes, I can smell the little girl’s scent."
Leo placed his wrist near his nose and inhaled, his lips curled slightly.
"So, what does it smell like?"
Holly blinked her eyes and lifted her eyebrows lightly.
"A unique scent that only I can perceive."
Leo’s lips curved slightly as he gently ruffled Holly’s head.
Holly: "..."
Goodness.
"Let’s go home."
Leo laughed and walked with Holly towards their home, his arm around her shoulder.
Holly stuck out her tongue in mild protest but obediently went home with Leo.
"Open the door."
At the doorway, Leo stopped and signaled for Holly to open the door.
"I didn’t bring the keys."
Holly blinked slowly as she replied.
She rarely likes to carry keys when she goes out; sometimes she can be forgetful, often losing her keys.
"I have them."
Leo unhooked the keys from his waistband and placed them in Holly’s palm.
Holly: "..."
Well, if Leo has the keys, he could just open the door himself; why ask her to do it? This seems somewhat redundant.
What a peculiar thing.
"Open the door, what are you standing there for?"
Seeing Holly not moving, Leo urged her.
Holly gave Leo a puzzled glance and silently turned to open the door.
Though curious about Leo’s actions, she was too lazy to ask. It was chilly outside; she was eager to get inside and warm up.
As soon as the door opened, Holly froze there, stunned, her eyes filled with disbelief.
She turned to look at Leo, "Brother, you..."
The words faltered at her lips; she was genuinely shocked.
"Do you like it?"
Leo’s lips curved into a joyful smile, his gaze at Holly utterly tender.
After Holly went out, he prepared a surprise for her.
"I love it."
Holly nodded, suddenly feeling a warmth in her eyes.
It was out of gratitude.
The living room had a Christmas tree decorated with lights and many ornaments; the entire tree was covered.
The lights were on, flashing continuously, looking beautiful.
"A surprise for you; although Christmas is tomorrow, I prepared the surprise ahead of time."
Leo stepped behind Holly, wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder, speaking softly.
The most important thing was that the little girl should like it.
He loved seeing the little girl’s happy demeanor; her happiness made him happy too.
The little girl said she liked Christmas trees, so he got one for her, and all the decorations were hung by him. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
He had been plotting this since Holly went out.
Originally he wanted to surprise Holly tomorrow, but worried that Holly might not go out, making the surprise impossible, so he prepared it early.
"My tears are about to fall."
Holly covered her eyes and sniffed as she spoke.
No one dislikes surprises; she loved surprises, and Leo’s surprise made her feel so touched that she wanted to cry.
"My intention was to make you happy."
Leo gently took Holly’s hand away, speaking softly.
He certainly didn’t want to see Holly cry.
His little girl should have a smile on her lips every day, be joyful every day, without any worries.
"I know."
"I was just moved to the point of tears."
"I found that since knowing you, my threshold for tears has lowered; no matter how painful before, I wouldn’t shed a tear."
Holly thumped Leo’s chest, muttering discontentedly as a tear slid down her cheek.
Yes, since meeting Leo, she’s become much more sentimental, randomly experiencing various emotions.
Leo loved doing things that moved her, and each time she found herself wanting to cry.
Before, regardless of what happened, she wouldn’t cry; even facing great difficulties or enduring immense physical pain, she wouldn’t shed a single tear.
