The Soft-Hearted Wife of Mr. Big Shot-Chapter 183 Is My Bestie
The two hadn’t seen each other for a long time, and once they did, they started talking animatedly; once the conversation began, it couldn’t be stopped.
They hadn’t even ordered food.
"Aren’t you going to order?"
The waiter saw Holly Sawyer’s table engrossed in conversation without ordering food or broth, so he came forward to remind them.
These two started chatting right away, talking animatedly without a word about ordering food, almost like they were just there to use the seats.
"Forgot."
Cecilia Bennett tapped her forehead and then picked up the menu, started marking without even asking Holly Sawyer for her opinion.
Her actions were fluid and natural.
"Done."
After Cecilia Bennett finished ordering, she handed the menu to the waiter.
"I ordered all your favorites."
As soon as the waiter left, Cecilia Bennett playfully winked at Holly Sawyer.
Both were well aware of each other’s preferences, so one person handling the ordering was fine.
No need to consult the other, as the order would already include the other’s favorites.
"Good."
Holly Sawyer curled her lips into a gentle smile.
"Oh, right, hot milk tea."
Cecilia Bennett suddenly pulled out a cup of hot milk tea from her bag and playfully winked at Holly Sawyer.
The milk tea was still steaming, it was warm.
"You still remember my taste."
Seeing the milk tea, Holly Sawyer’s eyes lit up.
It was white peach Oolong flavor from a milk tea shop they frequented as kids, though that shop was closed a long time ago.
This packaging seemed familiar.
"I remember, I especially went and asked the owner to make it."
Cecilia Bennett said, with a pitiful look on her face.
The shop was gone, but the owner was still around. Her first quest returning home was visiting the owner to beg him to make a cup of it.
The owner grew a bit frustrated with her pestering, so eventually agreed to her request; the packaging was also temporarily made due to her persuasion.
The milk tea shop was not any renowned brand, quite niche, it attracted customers with its adorable packaging.
Holly Sawyer and Cecilia Bennett were among them; they practically ran to the shop every day.
Thinking back to those student days indeed felt nostalgic.
"I’m about to cry."
Looking at Cecilia Bennett, Holly Sawyer pursed her lips and said slowly.
Very touched.
People often can’t help but cry when truly touched.
"Come on, I just wanted to make you happy."
Cecilia Bennett quickly waved her hands with urgency.
She didn’t want to see Holly Sawyer cry, only happy.
"It’s still the old taste."
Taking a sip of the milk tea, Holly Sawyer continued slowly.
The taste was the same as before, reminiscent of her childhood, drinking it felt like going back to those days.
It’s all memories.
Cecilia Bennett: "As long as the taste hasn’t changed."
"Give it a try." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Holly Sawyer offered the straw to Cecilia Bennett, speaking softly with a smile in her eyes.
She was truly happy.
"It really is, just like the childhood taste."
Taking a sip, Cecilia Bennett’s eyes instantly brightened.
Exactly as it was before.
All the dishes had arrived; the two chatted while eating.
After not seeing each other for long, there was much to discuss.
"By the way, I don’t have a place to stay."
After eating, as they walked out of the hotpot restaurant, Cecilia Bennett stretched lazily and said slowly.
She stared directly at Holly Sawyer.
She had arrived last night, but it was too late to inform Holly Sawyer, so she spent the night in a hotel catching up on sleep.
"Have you decided where, just say it."
Holly Sawyer put her hands in her pockets, speaking with generosity.
She owned many properties in Arkenfall, allowing Cecilia Bennett to choose freely.
"I just love hearing you say that."
Cecilia Bennett’s eyes brightened instantly, her gaze at Holly Sawyer filled with admiration.
This was the response she was waiting for from Holly Sawyer.
She had properties abroad but in Arkenfall, she truly could be wandering the streets.
She didn’t want to stay at home, and could only trouble Holly Sawyer.
"Here, take a look yourself, just say when you’ve chosen."
Holly Sawyer handed her phone to Cecilia Bennett, speaking slowly, with generosity.
Listing her properties there, letting Cecilia Bennett make her choice.
"Can’t I stay with you?"
Cecilia Bennett looked up after browsing, with a pitiful gaze at Holly Sawyer.
"I live with Leo Grant, it’s his place."
Holly Sawyer lazily lifted her eyelids, speaking leisurely.
So it was inconvenient for Cecilia Bennett to stay.
Cecilia Bennett: "..."
Careless.
She felt once more it was a case of her unworthiness.
"Between me and Leo Grant, who’s more important?"
Cecilia Bennett asked pitifully.
It was genuinely difficult for her and she felt really down.
"I refuse to answer."
Holly Sawyer crossed her hands in a gesture.
"Fine, I already know I’m not as important as him."
Cecilia Bennett’s face was filled with resignation.
"Idiot."
Holly Sawyer glanced at Cecilia Bennett.
"I must be careful not to lose someone who peels my shrimp, skins fruits, removes fish bones, and unwraps candies for me."
Holly Sawyer put her hands back in her pockets, speaking lightly.
Indeed, she didn’t want to lose Leo Grant.
"So, are you showing off to me right now?"
Cecilia Bennett felt speechless, suddenly realizing she was fed an eyeful of PDA.
Oh dear, getting a mouthful of PDA just like that, really tough luck.
Being friends with someone in a relationship means you’re bound to get fed PDA, it’s quite challenging.
"I didn’t say that."
Holly Sawyer shook her head, wearing a look of innocence.
It might have a hint of showing off, but that wasn’t her intention.
Cecilia Bennett was about to speak when Holly Sawyer’s phone rang. Seeing Holly Sawyer’s joy at the incoming call, she immediately quieted down.
Tsk.
"Leo Grant will come pick me up later."
Holly Sawyer ended the call, telling Cecilia Bennett with glee in her eyes.
"Alright then."
Cecilia Bennett sighed; someone with a boyfriend really is different. Suddenly, she wanted to fall in love too.
Leo Grant arrived quickly, holding a cup of hot milk tea.
"Here, cold?"
Leo Grant handed the milk tea to Holly Sawyer, his voice extremely gentle.
Holly Sawyer shook her head: "Not cold."
Cecilia Bennett watched from the side, totally envious.
Holly Sawyer introduced Cecilia Bennett to Leo Grant before leaving with him.
"She’s my best friend, we’re very close."
Holly Sawyer looked up at Leo Grant, emphasizing once more.
Her bond with Cecilia Bennett had never changed.
If, hypothetically, Leo Grant and Cecilia Bennett were ever in an unresolvable conflict, she would choose Cecilia Bennett without hesitation.
