The Smiling Death-Chapter 394: Killing The Abomination
He paused for a moment.
"But as the years passed... this village... these people... they became my family too." ๐ฏ๐ป๐๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ท๐๐ฟ๐๐.๐๐ธ๐ข
He looked toward the direction where the others had run.
"I taught them how to fight. I watched them grow. I watched children become warriors. I watched them laugh, fight, fall in love, have children. This place became my home too."
His voice became heavy.
"I really wanted to go outside and find my family. I really did. I dreamed about that day many times. But if it comes to protecting these people... if it comes to helping youngsters like you go out and explore the world... then I am willing to do it."
He placed his hand on Amonโs shoulder.
"Please. If possible, try to find my family. I have written their old address in that letter. If you ever meet them, give them the letter and the locket. And tell them... I am sorry for not coming back. Tell them I did everything I could... but I failed. But tell them I never forgot them. Not even for a single day."
Tears streamed down Amonโs face now. He could not stop them.
"I do not want to carry this," Amon said in a broken voice. "Do not give me something like this. You should go there yourself."
Malphas smiled again. "I wish I could."
For a few seconds, neither of them spoke.
Then Malphas said quietly,
"Amon, promise me something."
Amon looked at him.
"Survive. No matter what happens, survive. Become strong. Go outside. See the world. Do not remained trapped in a place like this for eighty-two years."
Amon nodded slowly, tears still falling.
"I promise."
The lightning barrier around them shattered as Malphas removed it.
Amon quickly put the letter and the locket inside his storage ring.
Malphas grabbed Amon by the collar and looked at him one last time.
"Goodbye, Amon," he said softly. "I hope you achieve your dreams."
Amon nodded, unable to speak properly.
"Thank you... for everything," he said.
At that moment, the huge monster noticed them.
It opened its massive mouth and fired a huge, dangerous beam toward them.
The beam rushed toward them, destroying everything in its path.
Malphas did not move away.
Instead, he threw Amon with all his strength toward the direction of the tower.
Amonโs body flew through the air.
Tears streamed from his eyes as he looked back.
The beam swallowed Malphas completely.
But Malphas was not dead.
At the last moment, inside the beam, he rose into the air.
His entire body began cracking with pure blue lightning.
Lightning exploded from his body like a storm as he floated in the air, facing the gigantic abomination alone.
---
Malphas floated in the air as the beam swallowed him.
But he was not dead.
Inside the beam, his body began to glow with intense blue lightning. The lightning did not just surround him anymore. It began to come out from inside his body itself.
Crack.
Crack.
Small cracks began to appear on his skin, and blue lightning leaked out from those cracks like light escaping from a broken vessel.
His clothes began to burn.
His armor melted and fell apart.
His skin started to turn black in places where the lightning burned too strongly. But he did not scream. He did not stop.
The lightning spread into the dark gray sky above.
Soon the entire sky above the battlefield began to glow with blue thunderclouds. Lightning spread like a storm across the sky.
Malphas slowly rose higher into the air.
His blue vertical slit eyes shone brightly now, glowing like two stars in the storm.
Lightning struck again and again around him.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Then suddenly, a huge blue magic circle formed in the gray sky above him.
It was enormous.
At least fifty meters in diameter.
It slowly rotated in the sky, filled with ancient runes and lightning symbols. Blue lightning traveled across the circle like rivers of light.
Malphas floated in the center of that massive magic circle, lightning exploding from his body continuously.
Below him, the gigantic abomination looked up and screamed in rage.
ROOOOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!!
It opened its massive mouth, and mana began gathering inside it.
A huge dull yellow ball of energy began to form inside its mouth, growing bigger and bigger. The air around it distorted from the pressure of the energy.
Malphas looked down at the monster quietly.
His body was now half-burned by his own lightning. Parts of his skin were black, and blood slowly floated away from his body in the air. But his eyes were calm.
He raised his sword slowly.
Then he muttered,
[Dreadmoor Secret Art: Heavenfall Thunder Emperor โ World Ending Dragon.]
The huge magic circle in the sky began to rotate faster.
Lightning exploded everywhere.
Then Malphas pointed his sword downward toward the monster.
And in the next moment. He shot down from the sky like a lightning bolt. His entire body turned into blue lightning as he descended.
Around him, lightning gathered and formed something enormous.
A huge serpent-like dragon made of pure blue lightning formed around his body. It was massive. Much larger than the abomination itself.
The lightning dragon opened its mouth and roared.
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!
The sound of thunder exploded across the entire forest.
At the same time, the monster fired its huge yellow energy beam upward toward Malphas.
The beam and the lightning dragon collided mid-air.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!
For a moment, the yellow beam tried to push upward.
But the lightning dragon tore through the beam, ripping it apart like paper.
Then the lightning dragon, along with Malphas at its center, slammed directly into the monster.
The impact was catastrophic.
A massive explosion erupted, spreading across nearly two hundred meters in every direction.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!
The ground shattered.
Trees were burned instantly.
Rocks turned into dust.
A huge crater formed where the monster stood.
Blue lightning spread across the ground like a storm, burning and destroying everything around.
The sky flashed blue again and again as thunder roared endlessly.
And in the center of that massive explosion...
Malphas and the abomination disappeared inside the storm of lightning and fire.
