The Seventh Base-Chapter 102 - 6: Targeting
Chapter 102 -6: Targeting
“Pfft…”
Blood splattered on her helmet, but Qin Lan’s eyes did not close. She watched as the gigantic infant monster lunging toward her was bisected with a single slash, killed instantly on the spot.
The splendid radiance of the blade left her stunned for a moment, unable to snap back to reality.
Was that, Xu Mo’s saber?
It felt somewhat surreal to her.
Xu Mo’s figure didn’t stop; he charged forward with the War Saber in hand, the blade’s light still dazzling, like streaks of lightning.
Xu Mo’s saber was swift. Qin Lan saw his saber and only then did she understand what a Desert Hunter’s saber was like.
He was slaying monsters as if chopping vegetables.
“So strong.”
Qin Lan’s heart was pounding, especially after the impact of that one slash.
Was she covering for Xu Mo?
Thinking of some things that happened last night, Qin Lan felt a bit peculiar.
So embarrassing!
Qin Fu, standing beside her, was also stunned by the scene unfolding before his eyes.
A half Desert Hunter?
It seemed Xu Mo was showing him how a Desert Hunter slaughtered monsters.
They didn’t know.
The creatures Xu Mo had killed before were not monsters.
Seeing this, Qin Fu suddenly remembered something, feeling a chill down his spine. He exchanged a glance with his daughter.
He thought about what would have happened if his eldest son had made a move on Xu Mo that day, what their outcome would have been.
“Misjudged him,” Qin Fu murmured softly.
Indeed, they had misjudged him.
He saw Xu Mo’s youth and corrected for the fact they were just several kids in the ruins. He hadn’t taken their strength seriously.
How many monsters must one kill to hone such a sword technique?
“Dad, he said he hasn’t tested his Source Power Fusion Degree.” Qin Lan suddenly remembered something.
“Hmm,” Qin Fu nodded.
Seeing it now, Xu Mo’s Source Power Fusion Degree was definitely more than C-level.
It started at B.
Perhaps it could reach B or even B+.
If he had that Source Power Fusion Degree, he wouldn’t have any worries about surviving in the city.
Most students at the Extraordinary Academy were also at the level of B.
What exactly were these guys’ backgrounds?
Ye Qingdie, Shadow, and Elsa were also dealing with the occasional monsters that came near them.
Contrarily, Qin Fu and Qin Lan did nothing, standing quite leisurely in the middle.
Who was covering for whom?
After Xu Mo had killed all the monsters in front of him, he retreated back to where Qin Fu and the others were, without going too far.
Glancing back, the One-eyed Dragon and his two companions were being attacked by monsters; two of them had already been knocked down.
“Lao Qin, help us,” they pleaded with Qin Fu from amid the monsters.
“Hmph.” Qin Fu snorted coldly.
They hadn’t settled the score for what they did, and now they wanted to be saved?
“Save me.” The One-eyed Dragon’s eyes showed a pleading look.
Xu Mo glanced at them and said, “We’re moving forward.”
“Okay.” Qin Fu and the others nodded, following Xu Mo forward, preparing to make their way towards the people from the academy.
A terrifying scream echoed from behind them; the One-eyed Dragon’s helmet was bitten by the enormous mouth of a gigantic infant monster, its sharp fangs grinding against the Battle Armor, emitting a piercing noise.
The One-eyed Dragon howled in madness, but no one paid him any attention. The Battle Armor shattered bit by bit, and he became food for the gigantic infant monster.
Xu Mo and the others charged forward.
Several figures also headed their way through the slaughter.
Lin Xi, Su Rou, and Hughes.
Lin Xi in the front, Su Rou in the middle, with Hughes protecting her side.
The monsters in the middle were cleared, the two groups merged, and Lin Xi gave Xu Mo and his group a glance, saying, “Keep up.”
With that, she turned and walked on ahead.
Clearly, she had come to support Xu Mo and his group.
Xu Mo and his companions followed, the entire party converging together.
The gigantic infant monsters here were also wiped out, including a large B-level monster lying on the ground, slain by Benjamin alone.
The ground was covered in monster corpses.
The entire party was stained with fresh blood.
More monsters charged forward; Sun Xiaoxiao directly cleared them with her firepower.
“Why are there so many monsters?” Li Man looked at Benjamin and asked.
An alarm sounded from Yang Ming’s wrist, his brows deeply furrowed. He and Benjamin climbed up the slope of the ruins ahead, stealing a glance into the distance.
The others followed suit, their pupils slightly contracting, their hearts twitching.
Xu Mo and his group naturally saw it too; the monsters in the distance surged like a flood, densely packed.
And now, it wasn’t just gigantic infant monsters.

In the sky, flying creatures appeared, gradually obscuring the light, casting a massive shadow.
From the city’s direction, warships emitted piercing alarm sounds.
“Boom…” Energy Light shot out into the distance, instantly causing a rain of blood in the sky; many flying creatures were pierced and killed on the spot.
The solemn alarm sound made one’s scalp tingle.
“Retreat quickly.”
Yang Ming said aloud.
The party turned and ran, sprinting towards the location of their vehicles.
“Let’s go.”
Xu Mo also spoke, and the group turned to run.
When monsters attack the city, the base will be hit first.
That piercing alarm was a warning to the base and the Desert Hunters outside: everyone to retreat to the city.
The city’s offensive and defensive capabilities would also be activated, clearing the monsters.
They needed to reach their vehicles as quickly as possible.
While retreating, Sun Xiaoxiao still led the way, firing at the monsters that approached; the Mecha was energy-powered, naturally fast. Even if the terrain wasn’t flat, the strides made through the ruins were still big.
“Xiao Xiao, can you give me a ride? I can’t keep up with you,” Xiao Qi followed from behind.
Xu Mo saw Xiao Qi sprinting behind the Mecha, a curious expression on his face.
Had the kid latched onto someone else?
Where did you learn to pester like this?
But thick skin, that seems to be something Xiao Qi was born with, something I discovered quite early.
“How am I supposed to bring this along?” Sun Xiaoxiao said, annoyed.
Xiao Qi sped up, leapt, and jumped onto the mecha’s back, hugging its massive head like an octopus clinging on.
“???”
Sun Xiaoxiao’s face darkened inside the mecha’s cockpit.
“Xiao Xiao, you really have a good heart,” Xiao Qi praised.
Jiang Tong, who was following, also had a dark expression as he stared at Xiao Qi on Sun Xiaoxiao’s back.
Is this something a human does???
Sun Xiaoxiao, puffing with anger, moved forward, increasing firepower output.
So, the approaching monsters became unlucky victims, outlets for her venting.
“Xiao Xiao, this mecha is so awesome. Can you give me one?” Xiao Qi, lying comfortably on the mecha’s back, asked.
Sun Xiaoxiao was at her wit’s end…
Is this something a normal person would say?
Give away a mecha?
“Sure, if you beat Benjamin, I’ll give you a mecha,” Sun Xiaoxiao’s voice came from inside the mecha.
“Really? Can I ask someone to help me?” Xiao Qi asked.
“Whatever works,” Sun Xiaoxiao said.
She didn’t believe Xiao Qi could get help from anyone.
There were only a few students in the academy who could beat Benjamin.
Not to mention Xiao Qi’s friends.
Xiao Qi glanced over at Xu Mo.
Thinking to himself, Brother Mo, I can only help you this far. You have to fight for the mecha on your own.
Qin Fu and Qin Lan were also ‘shocked’ by Xiao Qi.
They barely spoke with those students; they were not on the same level.
Did Xiao Qi just cling onto a girl like that?
Even though it’s a mecha.
But it’s still a mecha piloted by a girl.
And he’s asking the girl for a mecha?
Does he want to be a gigolo that badly?
Qin Lan twitched her mouth, give away a mecha?
What kind of family does that!
“Watch out, a large group of monsters is coming.”
Yang Ming glanced down at his wrist.
Benjamin looked up at the sky. Some flying creatures were moving fast, already above their heads.
“Full speed ahead,” Yang Ming said as he continued to accelerate forward.
But as a result, Su Rou, Qin Fu, and Ye Qingdie began to lag behind.
The strength of one’s physique and Source Power Level are directly correlated.
Higher levels mean stronger physiques, explosive power, and naturally, greater speed.
“Stay close to me,” Xu Mo told Qin Fu and the others.
When a monster tide attacks the city, it’s just bad luck.
Let’s hope they won’t encounter any too powerful monsters.
There are many Desert Hunters among humans, and people in the city also hunt monsters in the ruins.
Is the monster tide attacking the city in retaliation?
It seemed that some air-borne monsters had spotted them. Several monsters dived down, targeting them directly.
Sun Xiaoxiao raised her arm, her gun pointed upward firing.
Vivid rays pierced through several monsters, with blood scattering in the air.
A mecha armed with heat weapons is an absolute powerhouse for output.
Sensing the scent of blood, more monsters from the air swooped down. The piercing sound from Yang Ming’s wrist indicated that some monsters had strong energy.
“Be careful,” Yang Ming warned.
Sun Xiaoxiao continued to fire, while Su Rou and Ye Qingdie didn’t forget to shoot at the sky as they ran.
Yet, many monsters still swooped down.
Benjamin leapt up, sweeping his hand through the air, releasing a stunning wave of energy that mowed down a row of them.
“You guys go ahead,” Benjamin said.
“Be careful,” Yang Ming advised as he killed a few monsters himself.
Benjamin’s involvement attracted many monster attacks, which reduced their pressure significantly.
“Xiao Xiao, you have to aim carefully,” Xiao Qi shouted from atop the mecha.
If any monsters got past her, he would be in trouble.
“Buzz…”
A scorching heatwave descended as a fiery red monster spat out flames, seemingly intending to melt the Battle Armor.
“Lin Xi, take them back to the vehicle. Desert Hunters, stay with me,” Yang Ming instructed, needing to attract the monsters’ attention to buy time for others.
“Okay,” Lin Xi nodded, continuing to sprint forward.
Xu Mo and the others wanted to follow, but Yang Ming blocked them.
“You will fight with me,” Yang Ming proclaimed, standing in front of them after slaying a monster.
“Brother Mo, Sister Butterfly,” Xiao Qi called out.
“You go ahead,” Xu Mo responded to Xiao Qi, his War Saber cutting through the air, slicing a bird in two.
“We stay behind as cannon fodder?” Qin Lan angrily stared at Yang Ming, with a flock of monsters circling overhead.
At the brink of life and death, she no longer cared about his status.
“This is your mission,” Yang Ming replied coldly, his gaze towards the sky indifferent.
Qin Lan was not pleased, although she knew money didn’t come easy.
But if it was deliberate, it was going too far, making her lose respect for the instructor from Extraordinary Academy.
Xu Mo paused, looking at Yang Ming.
He too sensed it. Was Yang Ming targeting the Desert Hunters?
Previously, he had purposely avoided providing rescue.
Leaving them behind now, it was as Qin Lan said, they were purely serving as cannon fodder.
What was his intention?
The few Desert Hunters should pose no conflict of interest to Yang Ming, an instructor at Extraordinary Academy.
