The Second Son of the Marquis Wants to Laze Around-Chapter 69: Eren VS Big Cat
Chapter 69: Eren VS Big Cat
Eren quickly opened the system shop, purchased something, and tossed it to Leon.
Leon caught the item midair—it was a long, white cloak with a soft shimmer. Just from holding it, he could tell it was enchanted.
"It’s an invisibility... no, it’s a Camouflage cloak," Eren explained. "Use it to hide your presence from the monster while you meditate and restore your mana."
Leon clenched the cloak tightly, unsure how to process the situation. This whole moment felt surreal. He didn’t understand why the young Master was going this far.
Meanwhile, Kristoff and the other knights tried one more time to convince Eren to step aside and let them handle the Thundercalw.
But Eren shot them down again, his voice cold and his gaze sharp.
"If you guys keep pestering me... then I swear..." his red eyes glowed ominously as he frowned. The temperature in the air seemed to drop.
The knights froze on the spot. They felt it—that subtle but terrifying threat behind his words.
"I also have this magic necklace that protects me," he added, gesturing to the necklace around his neck. the same one he got from his mother. "So quit worrying."
After a long, tense silence, Kristoff and the knights finally relented. With heavy hearts and confused expressions, they backed down and obeyed the young Master’s orders.
....
As everyone left the dome, except for Eren and Leon, the atmosphere grew tense. Looking at the tied-up monster, Eren opened his status screen to check something—only to be interrupted by Leon, who was still standing behind him.
"Young Master? Why—" Leon began, but Eren cut him off with a loud shout filled with annoyance and anger.
"What are you still doing here?! Go far away and meditate, you Debhead!"
Leon flinched, stunned at being scolded by him for the first time.
"Hurry up and recover your mana and don’t waste my time! Do you want me to fight this lion for an hour?!"
Seeing the boy’s upset face, Leon quickly bowed his head in apology and ran off to find a quiet spot to meditate.
Once the guy was finally gone, Eren turned his gaze back to the bound Thundercalw. with Leon out of sight, the monster’s eyes was now fixed on him.
"Useless. Is it over?" Eren asked.
[Yes, Master. The quest has been successfully edited.]
"Show me."
A new green holographic panel popped up before him.

As Eren saw the quest difficulty had increased—along with the rewards—he was able to confirm it: quest rewards could scale with complexity. It was just like the dynamic quests when Useless generate a quest for his gameplay challenges. The harder the challenge, the better the loot.
A faint smirk formed at the corner of his lips.
–Shing!
With a sharp sound, Eren unsheathed his sword from his waist. He took a few steps back, widening the distance between him and the Thundercalw, who was still bound by the fading golden net.
[0:43:37 Minutes Left]
Eren glanced at the remaining time Useless had displayed for him. His stance remained calm, almost too composed, as he stood his ground. Slowly, his red eyes shifted into a glowing shade of violet.
[0:05:12]
With only seconds remaining, he took a deep breath, his expression stoic and focused. The golden net shimmered faintly, beginning to flicker like an unstable hologram.
[00:00:00]
The moment the timer hit zero, the spell finally collapsed—and the monster was free.
–ROOOOOAAAAAR!!!
A deafening roar tore through the air. Eren instinctively raised his arm to shield himself from the force of the shockwave. His body trembled—not from fear in his heart, but from the raw power and pressure exuding from the Thundercalw. Even if his mind remained neutral steady, The body he is in reminded him that he is too weak to face a Level 5 beast head-on.
–Boom!
Without hesitation, the Thundercalw lunged forward with shocking speed, its massive paw already swinging toward Eren’s face—ready to crush him like an insect. Eren’s eyes widened in shock. It was too fast. He couldn’t react in time.
"YOUNG MASTER!!"
Kristoff’s voice boomed in panic. The knight unsheathed his sword and released his aura, ready to dash forward and intercept as he was about to enter the dome. Regret flooded his expression.
But what happened next left everyone—including Kristoff and the observing knights—completely stunned.
–Shuuuush!
As the monster’s electrified claws slashed through Eren’s body, his form vanished into smoke, as if he were never there.
"Over here, Simba."
The beast’s ears twitched. It turned swiftly to the left, just in time to see Eren mid-air, floating at eye-level with his blade raised, aiming for the monster’s other eye.
–Swish!
The Thundercalw reacted instantly, leaping backward with feline agility. Though clearly in a weak state, it could still move fast enough to evade the strike. Eren clicked his tongue as he landed.
He hadn’t been aiming to land a fatal blow—only to scare it.
"Tch. What’s the matter, pussycat? Getting scar—"
–CRACK! BOOM!
Before he could even finish his sentence, a blinding bolt of lightning shot down and exploded against the ground where he stood.
A loud explosion shook the air. The knights gasped, some even cover their mouths in horror.
When the smoke cleared... there was no body. No blood. Just scorched grass.
Suddenly, Eren’s figure appeared a few meters away, entirely unscathed.
"Wow. You really are—"
–BOOM!
Another flash. The Thundercalw appeared before him in an instant, slamming its electrified paw downward with terrifying force.
–BANG!
A small crater formed where Eren had just been. But again, there was nothing. No mangled body. No torn limbs. Just air.
The beast’s claw had passed straight through yet another illusion.
The real Eren stood elsewhere, hidden by camouflage of illusion magic, his violet eyes glowing faintly.
’Damn. This crazy cat won’t even give me a second to finish my words’ Eren thought, weaving another illusion clone on the spot.
Each time the beast struck, it destroyed the clone in one blow.
–BANG!
"Can you just—"
–BOOM!
"Really—"
–BANG!
"At least let—"
–BLAST!
The scene unfolding before the knights was both surreal and bizarre.
From their point of view, it looked like the young master was being repeatedly smashed by a ferocious lightning beast—yet somehow surviving each hit like a cockroach with plot armor.
"Is he... teleporting?" one of the knights watching from outside the dome asked, eyes wide.
"No... I don’t think that’s it," another knight replied, narrowing his eyes and focusing harder.
"I think... he’s dodging. He’s moving fast. Like, really fast," he added, following Eren’s faint traces with effort.
Those with good observational skills began noticing flashes of movement—moments where Eren’s real figure appeared only for an instant before disappearing again, right before each attack landed.
Even Kristoff, who was known for his sharp combat sense, stared in disbelief.
It was his first time seeing the young master fight... and he couldn’t follow his movements at all.
Back inside the dome, the Thundercalw growled in frustration as it continued chasing and attacking Eren’s clone. But then, the beast’s eyes twitched. Its ears perked up, clearly sensing something was off.
"What’s wrong? Getting tired alread—"
–BLAST!
Another clone taunted the monster, only to be blasted away by yet another lightning strike.
The real Eren was just about to summon another illusion when—
–SHUSH!
The Thundercalw’s body flickered with static, and in the next instant, it leapt toward the real Eren with terrifying accuracy. Its eyes locked on. Its claws raised. Electricity crackled violently around its arm.
"What the f—"
–BANG!
Eren barely had time to leap to the side. His sword was raised, but the sheer force of the attack slammed into the ground next to him, launching him through the air like a ragdoll.
–Thud!
He crashed hard, tumbling across the ground.
Thankfully, the magical necklace around his neck activated in time. A transparent, shimmering shield wrapped around his body, absorbing most of the impact and preventing serious injury.
Grimacing, Eren knelt on one knee, his violet eyes glowing brighter.
"... That was dangerous."
He conjured another illusion clone, which instantly darted toward the Thundercalw at high speed.
–Swush!
The clone was obliterated by a quick tail swipe.
But Eren didn’t stop.
He created another. Then another. And another.
Each time the Thundercalw destroyed a clone, a new one appeared immediately, as if Eren were playing a frustrating game of magical whack-a-mole.
To the onlookers, it looked like the boy was teleporting all over the battlefield.
To the monster... it was being haunted by a cocky red-eye fly who refused to die.
"Useless. What just happened?" Eren asked, staying still in the same spot, unmoving, as he watched the monster fight his clone.
[It seems that the Thunderclaw has detected your presence and awareness during the fight.]
Hearing that, Eren’s face turn dark of annoyance.
