Chapter 60: The Wind Glider

After hearing Leon’s past achievements from Kristoff, Eren asked Leon, "But why did you join the knights? From what I see, you seem more suited to be an adventurer... or even a famous one."

"....."

Leon went silent for a moment, unsure whether he should share the reason with the young master. Kristoff also looked confused and curious, as even he had never asked before.

Seeing Leon’s troubled expression, Eren shrugged and said,

"Forget it. You don’t need to answer if it’s triggers you a flash back memories"

The young master then moved on, walking behind the other knights.

Leon was surprised by what Eren said but didn’t respond—just nodded, feeling appreciative that the boy didn’t push him to explain. Kristoff noticed it too and stayed quiet, and the three of them continued walking behind the other knights, who moved carefully ahead.

....

Meanwhile, Eren was deep in thought, wondering about Leon. Ever since he saw him, he felt a dejavu or flash back about his look.

’Where have I seen him before?’ he thought, a nagging familiarity stirring in his memory.

’Ah, I remember now.’

He reached into his system storage and pulled out his game console. As usual, disguised by illusion magic to look like a "Death Note" book. Leon and Kristoff noticed it but said nothing, assuming Eren was just reading.

Opening Valoria Legends, Eren navigated to the character selection screen and began searching—still walking as he did so.

It didn’t take long before he found a character that resembled Leon.

A 3D character model of a man with light blue hair and deep, sharp blue eyes, a faded scar on his left cheek. He wore a high-collared blue coat over a sleek silver chestplate adorned with a green gemstone centerpiece. Silver-plated armor protected his shoulders, forearms, and shins, featuring wing-like designs that gave a knightly yet agile appearance. His lower half was covered by a dark blue split-tabard over dark brown pants, secured with ornate belts and silver buckles. A sword and dagger hung from his belt, and a long sword was strapped to his back.

The outfit blended knighthood with utility—perfect for a swift, agile warrior.

Underneath was the character’s name and profile:

[Leon, The Wind Glider]

[Description: A wind-blessed swordsman whose blade carries the weight of a broken promise and an unfulfilled dream. He wanders not for glory—but for the memory of a friend who once dreamed beside him.]

A five-star character that Eren already had—just like Raven.

He then opened the character’s story and read:

---

Once just a commoner boy with a wooden sword and a wild dream—to become a name sung in taverns and written in legends. Together with his childhood friend, who shared the same dream, they trained, studied, and aspired to become knights—two souls chasing the same star.

Both were accepted into a prestigious academy, but fate soon pulled them apart. Leon, a natural genius in swordsmanship, left the academy early to support his family by working as an adventurer. His friend stayed, graduated, and lived out their shared dream—if only briefly.

For years, they would meet in a dusty tavern, laughed over old scars, swapped stories, and reignited the fire of their promise. Until one day... the tavern remained silent. His friend never returned.

News came of a dungeon expedition that ended in tragedy—an Outbreak. Leon rushed to a burning village, but arrived too late. In his arms, his friend entrusted him with a final gift: his father’s sword. A nameless blade... carrying the memories of his shared past.

Fueled by grief and resolve, Leon answered the call of the Valmont Knights. No longer just a wandering adventurer, he became a storm on the battlefield—swift, sharp, and unwavering. The wind his ally, and his friend’s name stitched into the blade.

The people now call him The Wind Glider —because he is always carried–

Eren quickly finished reading before giving a chance for the Viewers to read.

Looking back at the 3D character design, he compared it with the real Leon walking nearby. Both had the same hair, eyes, look, and scar—but wore different clothes. And unlike in the game, the real Leon didn’t have a second sword.

The game showed that his character was a dual-sword user, a DPS and damage-dealer type warrior. The guy might even become stronger than the other Awakeners Eren had met—even stronger than the commander himself.

—Rustle!

Just then, the knights in front stopped moving. Leon, noticing this, also came to a halt and grabbed Eren’s shoulder. Eren snapped out of his thoughts and followed Leon’s gaze toward the front, where one of the knights gave Leon a nod—meaning they sensed a monster nearby.

"Monsters are approaching," Leon whispered as he slowly walked toward the front. But then he paused and glanced back at Eren. He remembered that Eren had joined their team for training.

The trip to this Dry Forest was originally meant as a training month for the young master, with the knights accompanying him for support.

"I suggest the young master stay behind for now, just in case. But... if the young master doesn’t want—"

Just as he worried that his suggestion might upset Eren, the boy raised a hand with stoic, lazy eyes.

"It’s okay. You and your team can go do your thing. I won’t be joining the fight—just planning to observe from behind."

Leon’s eyes widened in surprise—same with Kristoff. They both thought Eren would jump into battle immediately, like he had with the troll before. But it seemed they were wrong.

"Alright, then." Leon gave a look to his senior, Kristoff, who responded with a nod. With Kristoff beside the young master, He could focus on the battle without worrying.

He walked slowly to rejoin his team as they prepared themselves, while Eren and Kristoff remained behind, hidden among some bushes, watching.

Unbeknownst to Kristoff, Eren’s red eyes glowed purple for a brief moment.

.....

Leon and his team spotted five Dire Wolves emerging from between the trees. Four of them had dull grey fur, but the one in the center stood out—it had jet black fur and was noticeably larger than the others. That one had to be the leader.

Raising his hand, Leon gave a silent signal to his team. The knights nodded in unison and immediately began moving stealthily through the bushes, spreading out to the sides and slowly encircling the enemy like trained hunters.

The black-furred wolf suddenly halted, its nose twitching as it sniffed the air suspiciously. Its sharp eyes scanned the surroundings, clearly sensing something was off. The other wolves followed suit, sniffing and twitching their ears in alertness.

Seeing that the leader had caught on, Leon made his move. He burst out of the bushes in a swift leap, sword in hand, and shouted to signal the ambush. At the same time, the other knights sprang from their hidden positions, surrounding the pack of wolves from every direction.

Each of the regular Dire Wolves was a Level 3 monster, while the black-furred leader was a low-tier Level 4. But that was fine—Leon and all his team members were also at Level 3. A fair five-versus-five.

While his teammates focused on the four grey wolves, Leon charged directly at the black leader, who snarled and met his challenge head-on.

–Slash!

He launched a swift slash at the beast, but the black wolf jumped back with incredible reflexes, narrowly dodging the attack. It then countered with a series of rapid claw swipes, aiming straight for Leon’s chest.

"Tch... too fast," Leon muttered.

Realizing brute force wouldn’t cut it, Leon activated his Aura, a faint glow enveloping his body. Instantly, his speed increased, matching the wolf’s agility.

Blades and claws clashed in a fast-paced duel.

–Slash!

–Slash!

–Clang!

The sounds of steel and fangs echoed through the forest.

Meanwhile, behind a tree and dense bushes not far from the battlefield, Kristoff stood observing the battle with interest. His eyes were fixed on the fight as he silently evaluated his juniors’ performance. Next to him stood Eren—or at least, what appeared to be Eren—watching the intense clash with his usual half-lidded, lazy expression.

But the Eren standing there wasn’t real.

The real Eren was actually positioned far behind them, hidden deep within the forest. He was completely camouflaged using illusion magic, sitting calmly and chatting with his system.

’Useless. Buy me the things I told you about earlier,’ Eren complained inside his mind.

[Already done, Master.]
