The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL]-Chapter 469: Noticeable Changes
Chapter 469: Noticeable Changes
An ancient philosopher once said that change was constant.
But when even the densest star in the system starts to notice the changes, you know it’s already visible from orbit.
And that was the fallout that one particular "friend" was dealing with.
An entire line of risk takers, predators, and headaches.
Kyle Nox had already found yesterday torturous. It was difficult to watch and even harder to stop himself from running right over, especially when he knew how to solve his little mop’s problems.
And maybe it was wrong of him to ask Luca, that earnestly responsible being, to temporarily watch over Ollie while he was busy running around like a madman.
Because the amount of updates he was getting was making it harder for him to do his job.
After all, Luca was another type of natural disaster, and said disaster had sent in tons of photos and updates about his little chick’s suffering. freёweɓnovel_com
However, this was something he had expected, and while he felt intensely compelled to comfort him, he knew it was working. And it’s exactly the thing that Ollie wanted to discover for himself.
It was just that he didn’t expect to have to dodge this many shots.
Attempts at confession, sudden stalkers, and an entire bag of rumors awaited him, all because everyone thought that he was available right now, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
But somehow, he could understand why, since the disparity between then and now was particularly obvious. So when the Captain warned him about the incoming noise, Kyle could only sigh.
Lyka, on the other hand, couldn’t believe her luck. She’d overheard a few people talking about a rift between her Kyle and that mechanic, and felt like she’d been given a solid chance, so of course, she was going to take it.
Her first attempt was centered around following Kyle everywhere so she could talk to him and get closer. Only it didn’t work out as planned when their schedule practically locked them all inside the training hall, stuck inside their mechas.
Even if she got inside the hall, she wouldn’t be able to talk to him.
Tsk.
In the afternoon, she knew that they had general subjects, but what was that?
Kyle didn’t attend the afternoon lecture?
Did he go to that blonde again?! She thought, gritting her teeth and clenching her fists in anger as she momentarily remembered the embarrassment of the last time they spoke.
But it should be okay now; after all, it seemed like Kyle didn’t succeed with worshiping that mechanic. And if comforting him would work in her favor, then maybe she should be thanking Ollie for this grace instead.
However, the man she had been looking for could only wish to look for a certain blonde, for unfortunately, he, along with his Captain and Jax, were stuck in the military headquarters, listening to sudden damning news from the frontlines.
Fusion.
They weren’t sure what had triggered it, but mature corrupted creatures suddenly started cannibalizing creatures or outright fusing with them. And it has started making the battlefield even more unpredictable.
In-fighting between those creatures wasn’t new, but the soldiers hadn’t really encountered creatures who would further their mutations with the traits of whatever they had devoured.
And this was bad news for everyone. Because the first and last time their Guild encountered such a thing was when they were inside the goat’s dungeon.
It was unknowingly the first of many, but after learning about the worsening conditions, it had become impossible for the three to return to class, as they had to face Marshal Julian.
And so two of the three who had to sit through an intense interrogation couldn’t have possibly known the kind of skirmish that their little treasures were facing.
The situation was odd from the start.
For the longest time, Ollie had genuinely believed that Lyka Vela had been interested in him—emphasis on him—which made the current scene unraveling in public even more baffling.
So when she came looking for him in a rush, he nearly bolted to run away from her, Luca in tow. But then she shouted, loud and dramatic, "I need help!"
That alone had Ollie skidding to a halt.
Luca blinked. "Is she in danger?"
Princess Kira, standing nearby, narrowed her eyes and folded her arms as she thought, ’Something’s off. Why say that in public?’
Ada, who had been quietly watching with increasingly narrowed eyes, moved closer to Ollie and Luca at the silent behest of her boss, just in case the girl decided to throw hands. Or worse, theatrics.
It would be bad for men to hit women, especially someone from Luca’s division. But Ada and Princess Kira, as women, wouldn’t be subject to the same discrimination.
But who would’ve thought that instead of throwing herself at Ollie, she’d launch a full-scale verbal missile—one that made the surrounding students stop in their tracks and look on with a mix of horror, curiosity, and the sort of excitement usually reserved for those online dramas.
"Is there an emergency?" Luca asked gently, ever the helpful one.
That’s when Lyka’s expression twisted with sudden melodramatic emotion. "It’s my heart," she whispered with a tremble. "I’ve been in pain for a while. And I came here because I think we could help each other."
Ollie instinctively shielded his chest. "Help each other? How? Why?"
Lyka turned toward him, eyes shimmering. "Please give Kyle Nox to me. I want to be his wife."
Ollie’s hands froze. His expression collapsed into stunned disbelief. "...What?"
Gasps echoed.
Luca’s eyes widened. Princess Kira’s jaw dropped. Ada looked like she was two seconds away from pulling out something, well, anything.
The entire plaza fell into stunned silence.
"I’m sorry, what?" Ollie asked again, squinting as if maybe—maybe—he had hallucinated the words.
And oh, Lyka wasn’t finished.
"I know you think he likes you," she said, sniffling. "But you said it yourself! You said you were just friends! I heard it—I heard Kyle say it."
Ollie was internally panicking. What in the name of all that was holy was happening?!
Princess Kira stepped forward, her smile deceptively calm. "What are you talking about, miss...?"
"Lady Lyka Vela," Lyka corrected, hand to her chest. "And I’m talking about taking Kyle Nox off Ollie’s hands."
"You want to...take him?" Luca asked slowly, horrified.
Lyka nodded solemnly. "Yes. I’ve loved him for years. I believe I can help you, Ollie, by helping him. You won’t have to be concerned about his feelings anymore. It’s a win-win situation."
"I—" Ollie opened his mouth. Then closed it. Then opened it again. Words had completely abandoned him.
"Please," Lyka said earnestly. "I won’t ask for much. Just tell him about me. Maybe put in a good word. I’ll do the rest. If you just... give him to me."
And she might as well have asked to be queen. For the moments her words fell, the bomb started to tick.
