The Royal Mark-Chapter 337: Completely Enamored

"I want to take my family to Zemaria, where we truly belong... But anywhere would do as long as I can get them out of Kurzen," Lulu admitted, lowering her head in embarrassment and fear.

Noticing her reaction, Elsa asked, "Are you not allowed to leave Kurzen?"

"No, Your Majesty. Our ancestors were slaves to the demons. Over the years, the humans here have gained a bit of freedom. We can go anywhere within Kurzen, but crossing the border is forbidden unless our master takes us with them.

Half-breed humans have more freedom than pure breeds. They can work outside Kurzen, except in government positions, and they are allowed to travel outside Kurzen as long as they secure a permit."

"If you ever get out of Kurzen, what would you like to do then?" Elsa asked.

"I would like to join the mage army of Zemaria or maybe become a healer. I haven’t really thought it through since becoming a mage seems impossible, let alone going to Zemaria," Lulu replied sadly.

"Maybe I could help you achieve at least one of your dreams. What do you think?" Elsa probed.

Lulu just stared at her utterly confused, "What do you mean, Your Majesty?"

"You said you wanted to be a mage and earlier I told you that you don’t need a mage ancestor to be able to become one. Elemental magic can be learned, all you need is to train yourself how to gather the mana around you so you can use it to manipulate the elements around you," Elsa explained.

"Really? B-But I don’t know how to gather mana."

"That would be my responsibility. So are you up to it?" Elsa pondered.

"But it is forbidden for humans here to use learn magic."

"Yes, it is. Only if someone will know about it. This is just our little secret, Lulu."

"May I ask a question, Your Majesty?" Lulu inquired and when Elsa nodded, she sat up straight and looked Elsa straight into the eyes, causing her to smile inwardly.

’She’s going to accept it!’ Elsa excitedly exclaimed in her mind.

"Why do you want to help me?" Lulu added.

"Because I need a favor from you. I will teach you to gain the power and freedom that you are longing for but in return, I need your help," Elsa boldly divulged.

"What kind of help you need, Your Majesty?"

"I think you and the other servants here already know that I am here against my will. Like you, I want to get out of this hell and go back to my family. I miss my family so much, especially my son and husband.

You know this place so well and I need your expertise on that. You are a human like me and I just risk my life and freedom by saying my plan to escape to you. But I am willing to gamble it if it means I get the chance to someday get out of here. Just like how you told me your dreams."

"But that would be dangerous, Your Majesty! I don’t want you to get hurt! You are so kind to me and I don’t want anything bad to happen to you," Lulu’s heartbeat was already beating so fast just by thinking of Elsa’s plan. Plus she doesn’t have the confidence as well to learn magic. "Besides, I am not even sure if I could help you. I am not sure how long it will take for me to learn how to gather mana and learn magic."

Elsa smiled faintly and gave Lulu’s hand a light squeeze. "All I need from you is a yes and your trust. If in case you didn’t learn what I will teach you then it’s on me. But for me to proceed, I need you on my side. I need your determination to learn to be able to fulfill your own dream. Can you do that?"

Lulu’s eyes were starting to become blurry with unshed tears. She was feeling mixed emotions and for the first time in her life, she could feel that there was hope. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

It was her parent’s dream to bring her and her siblings to Zemaria so they could have a better life. And now that she has a chance to do so, she will not let go of it.

"I accept, Your Majesty. Let’s help each other," Lulu smiled at Elsa with reassurance and faith in her heart.

"Great! Now let me start. Stay here, I will go that demon king and make you my permanent servant."

Elsa immediately went to King Mordrak’s room. She knocked several times but no one opened the door.

"King Mordrak, are you in there?" Even after calling his name, she did not receive an answer. She placed her ear against the door after hearing some noises and was completely convinced that someone was definitely inside if not the king, himself.

She turned the knob and it was open. Slowly, she pushed the door to open it while peeking little by little.

"Hey, what are you doing?" King Mordrak called, startling Elsa when he suddenly appeared and blocked her view.

"You scared me! I knocked several times and even called you but you were not answering that’s why I opened it after hearing something," Elsa explained while staring at the king’s wet hair and moist upper body. He was shirtless and she was not sure if it was a blanket that he was holding to cover his lower body but she didn’t give any attention or care about it.

"I was doing some exercise in the bath chamber and didn’t hear you. Are you going to say something to me?" the demon king asked.

"Yes, I need clothes and some other things," Elsa tersely replied.

"I will send a servant to bring you those and you can ask him anything that you need," Mordrak said and quickly closed the door but Elsa was fast enough to stop him from doing so.

"No, I want to go to the market so I can choose them myself. I am going to die of boredom here so either you trust me to do this or you will cage me in your castle so I could formulate a plan on how to escape from here."

"What? You don’t even know this place, you will just get lost."

"You could send a servant or guards to accompany me. If you really want to earn my trust, better do it now," Elsa challenged.

Mordrak sighed and gave in, "Alright, bring the servant that was assigned to you. The guards know what to do the moment you step out of the castle. They will follow you everywhere so don’t ever think of escaping."

"Got it..." Elsa beamed and swiftly went back to her room.

However, Mordrak stood on his spot frozen after witnessing Elsa’s smile. ’It’s the first time I saw her smile like that. I never thought she could get even more beautiful than she already was,’ he thought, completely enamored.
