The Royal Mark-Chapter 309: Wall of Fire

Because of the combined power of Elsa, Dasher, and Rylie, they arrived in Arcanis before sunrise and found Elandir waiting for them in Blackhart Castle. It was written all over his face that there was something wrong.

He quickly greeted Chris and Elsa the moment his eyes landed on them. "Marina is not doing good."

"What do you mean? I thought she was fine when we left Saldivar and you were able to bring her back to Qiryn safely?" Chris tried to clarify.

"Yes, she was fine after you left with Neia and I was able to bring her safely back home, but the moment Hera woke her up from the chamber she was weak, and until now she hasn’t regained her strength," Elandir explained.

"So what did my mother-in-law say?" Chris asked not knowing that his words made Elsa blush.

It was the first time that she heard him call her mother his mother-in-law. It was music to her ears that Chris had acknowledged Hera as his family. It was just a trivial thing but it was something special for her.

Chris felt Elsa’s mood brighten up a little causing him to look at her. He saw her staring at her fidgeting hands, so he held it and gave it a little squeeze.

’I got you, Love. We will get our son back. I promise,’ he assured her through their bond.

Elandir gave Elsa a stare before turning back to Chris. "She sent me here to get a sample of Elsa’s blood. She’s also aware that the archmage’s book is already with Valeria and expecting them to arrive there after Andrius’ coronation."

Chris frowned, he didn’t like the sound of it. Elsa and Marina were not from the same race, so he finds it odd why would Hera want her blood. Before Chris could protest, Elsa already had a plan of her own.

"Let’s go to the kitchen then. I’ll give you more than what you need. I also have a message that I want you to relay to my mother," Elsa told Elandir.

"Baahu, please help Rylie, get the blue box from the medical supplies that I bought from Zemaria and follow us in the kitchen," Elsa instructed before walking away.

"Everyone out!" Chris shouted as he entered the kitchen. Startled by the sudden command, the maids and cooks quickly exited the room. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Chris didn’t want anyone to overhear their conversation or witness their actions because he and Arla suspected there was a spy within the kingdom, which had made it easy for the demons to kidnap Milda and Rocco.

Elsa quickly poured water into a large pot and heated it on the stove. She also washed her hands thoroughly with water and soap while waiting for Baahu and Rylie.

"Did my mother say what will she do with my blood?" Elsa asked.

"She said that she would try to make a cure out of it. How will she do it? I have no idea," Elandir honestly answered.

"Alright, she knows what’s best, so let’s support her."

When Baahu and Rylie arrived with the blue box, Elsa quickly opened it, and inside was a set of syringes, rubber bands, and glass tubes.

"Rylie, do you still remember what I taught you about extracting blood from veins?" Elsa asked.

"Yes, I do. Shall I start?" Rylie uttered.

Elsa nodded and they they both started preparing the glass tubes by sterilizing them in the pot that Elsa heated.

After it was done, Rylie tied the rubber band around Elsa’s arm and inserted the needle into her skin, extracting her blood.

"I need you to get a sample of Chris’ blood as well," Elsa said.

"Me? Why me?" Chris questioned with a hint of protest.

Elsa took the rubber band from Rylie and reached out for Chris’ arm forcefully, but he retracted it back.

"You never know when will it be useful so give me your damn arm!" Elsa rolled her eyes while waiting for her husband to give her his arm.

And when he did, she acted fast. She laughed when she was able to insert the needle into his vein for she felt how nervous he was.

"Seriously, Chris... You go to battles and fight but you get nervous because of a tiny needle?" Elandir said after seeing beads of sweat forming on Chris’ forehead.

"Shut up! Why don’t you fall in line and have your blood extracted too?" Chris retorted.

"No thanks..." he tersely replied before turning to Elsa, "What was it that you want me to tell Hera?"

"Tell her to freeze my blood I might come in handy someday. Also, tell her that I need her help in finding a cure for Chris’ hecatolite problem that’s why I am sending her his blood. I also have a feeling that she will get answers from my grandmother’s book."

"Alright, if that’s all. I will go now, she told me to not stay long as soon as I get your blood for it spoils fast."

Elandir took the glass tubes and quickly entered the portal that he created.

Elsa turned to Chris, her aura instantly changed into a dark, ominous one. "Now, tell me when should we attack that damn demon king?"

Chris held her hands and said, "We will get him back but let’s plan it well. The demon’s king power is no joke. We need help not only from Zemaria but also from the other three kingdoms."

"Are you kidding me? I cannot wait for any of that! My son is out there and God knows what are they doing to him right now. I will not sit here and do nothing while you ask for people to ally with you!"

Elsa stood up and walked away. Chris grabbed her arm but she shoved his hand forcefully and continued walking.

Chris tried to stop her but she waved her hand and put a wall in between them made of fire.

"Don’t you dare stop me from getting my son back, I wouldn’t think twice even if it’s you who I need to fight!" Elsa warned while glaring at Chris, shocking Chris himself together with Baahu and Rylie.
