The Rogue Alpha's Second Chance-Chapter 86: Fragile
"Your mood shifts pretty fast," commented Stella. looking at Violet who happily forwarded the plate of fresh strawberries to Sylas.
"It was only yesterday you were crying over your grievances over Alpha, and now, you are all over him."
Instead of feeling embarrassed, Violet grinned widely. "Alpha agreed to my pursuit."
Both Stella and Gabriella stared at Sylas in surprise and disbelief. Although they saw doting Sylas was to Violet, they never thought it would go this far.
Sylas stared at Violet helplessly. "Eat before the food gets cold."
Wearing a proud expression on her face, Violet muttered to Stella. "See, he didn’t deny."
Stella still remaining in her shocked state brought Violet a sense of satisfaction.
Once they were done with the meal, Stella volunteered to wash the dishes. Although she was a guest here, Violet happened to be pregnant and she couldn’t let Sylas touch the dirty dishes.
The entire time when she was in a daze about Sylas and Violet’s relationship, Violet grabbed on to Sylas’s arm, clinging on to him.
Then, she lifted her head, staring at the Alpha with her bright hazel eyes.
"Alpha, it has been a long time since I drank tea made by you," Violet expressed. "Can’t you make it now?"
Sylas wore a stern expression. "Stand up straight, and let go of me."
Violet scrunched up her nose but did as he said.
"You need to be disciplined," Sylas voiced out, "if you’re bored, I can recommend you books to read."
Violet stuck out her tongue. "I don’t like those gloomy books you read."
After that, she stepped closer to Sylas and added, "And you were away from me for so long, Alpha. Let me monopolize you now, alright?"
Sylas realized how Violet’s demands and temper was getting worse day by day. She tested his lower limit every moment, and when she saw it could go further down, she pushed it.
Violet then sniffed him. "I almost forgot how you smell as well."
The sound of the plate crashing followed.
They turned their head to find Stella standing there with a pale, incomprehensible face, as if she couldn’t make out what was happening in front of her.
Sylas took a step back and pressed his forehead.
"Will you leave me alone if I make you tea?"
Violet nodded.

Watching the girl play games on his laptop, resting on his couch, Sylas felt helpless. She grabbed chips from the packet, snacking on them, while her other hand worked fast.
After that, she took a sip out of the special lemon tea made for her by Sylas.
Sylas turned his attention back to his work.
Recalling how Lydia was with her and yet to return, Violet felt concerned and decided to send her a text.
"Where are you?" The text read.
Then, she proceeded to send another message to Damian.
Damian’s prompt response followed.
"Your friend was stolen away."
Violet furrowed her brows.
"Stolen away?"
"Yeah. By Lucas. He was pretty aggressive about it."
Lucas?
Did he go there for Lydia?
"You should have fought against him and protected Lydia," Violet typed furiously.
Since Lucas had no intention of being mates with Lydia, Violet hoped he could stay away from her.
An idea clicked into her head.
Then, she quickly followed it up with. "What do you think of Lydia?"
"Why are you suddenly asking?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Violet smiled widely. Folding her legs on the couch, she leaned against it relaxed and responded, "I think both of you have great chemistry. You think Lydia is pretty, smart, and competent. And you’re successful, stable, and mature as well. I think you will complement each other well."
"Children should stay out of adult’s business."
Violet giggled.
"You didn’t deny anything."
"Who are you texting?"
Sylas’s voice caused her to raise her head. She was caught off guard for a second before saying, "With Damian. He was there with me yesterday."
"Damian?" Sylas arched a brow.
"Yeah, he is the son of the Beta although he doesn’t plan to succeed his dad’s position. But he is nothing like his greedy and selfish father. He took very good care of me growing up," Violet vocalized.
Sylas smiled.
"You are used to being taken care of," Sylas commented.
Violet chuckled sheepishly.
"Might be because I seem to be the type to get in trouble. Now, Alpha, you’re taking good care of me," expressed Violet.
"Or it could be because everyone finds you lovely."
Sylas’s words made her hazel eyes sparkle.
"Alpha, are you indirectly saying you find me lovely?"
Then, before Sylas could reply, Violet added, "No, take backs, Alpha. This is considered half a confession."

Lydia glared at Lucas in front of her.
As the memories slowly returned to her, she recalled how she ended up on the same bed as him again— naked too.
Lucas raised his hand in his defense.
"It was you who came on to me," Lucas stated. Then, a smirk made its way on to his face as he carried on, "How come I didn’t know you get this thirsty for me when drunk?"
Lydia wanted to deny his accusations, but looking at the ripped shirt at the corner, she knew this was her own masterpiece.
This mate bond made even some like her lose her mind.
Lucas shouldn’t be the type of the man she sought after, but even after all the humiliations she faced under him, she couldn’t pull back completely.
Ignoring him, she removed the covers and was about to enter the bathroom to wash up when Lucas grabbed on to her wrist.
She stared at him questioningly.
"I thought I should say this to you when you’re sober," Lucas said, "My words went a little too far. I don’t know what went wrong with me. I couldn’t control my mouth."
Lydia was silent for a while.
Then, adjusting her emotions, she coldly stated, "I don’t care. Just because a dog barks doesn’t mean I have to be affected."
The corner of Lucas’s lips twitched.
He wanted to comment something sarcastic but recalling her appearance yesterday, he understood she felt hurt by his words.
How could he have forgotten although she was hard and cold on the surface, inside her laid a fragile heart.
