The Rising Phoenix-Chapter 958: Attend The Class.
"Alright... since everything is settled, let’s spar." Ji Yuan said, rising to his feet.
Without further delay, both of them stood up and began their match. As was usually the case, Bai Xifeng ended up on the ground, getting beaten by Ji Yuan without a hint of mercy. She gritted her teeth in frustration. Even though she had improved significantly through her rigorous training, she still could not find a way to defeat Ji Yuan.
"If you can defeat me, it means I have nothing more to teach you." Ji Yuan remarked after hearing Bai Xifeng’s vocal complaints.
"Hmm... that’s true." Bai Xifeng agreed with the statement, even though the reality of it frustrated her.
After that, Bai Xifeng returned to her courtyard. That night, she did not go to sleep immediately. Instead, she planned to concoct some elixirs and pills for the point exchange. She wanted to enter the cultivation hall once again.
Only after the break of dawn did she finally get some much-needed rest. Later, she woke up and prepared herself to attend her Poison Master class. She left the Inscriber Division and walked steadily toward the Poison Master Division. While she was on her way to class, she happened to see Li Qiao.
Li Qiao was her fellow classmate within the Poison Master Division.
"Oh... You have finally come back." Li Qiao said the moment he saw Bai Xifeng.
Bai Xifeng was currently yawning and rubbing her weary eyes.
"Hmm... The job over there was finally done." Bai Xifeng stated.
"Job? What kind of job?" Li Qiao asked, his curiosity piqued.
Bai Xifeng turned to Li Qiao and replied with a small smile. "Extracting poison."
"Oh? What kind of poison was it?" Li Qiao asked, feeling genuinely interested in the topic.
"It is a slow-acting poison. Spirit Wither Root mixed with a specific powdered lead-zinc." Bai Xifeng explained.
"Oh... That is quite interesting." Li Qiao nodded thoughtfully.
Both of them then entered the classroom. Not long after that, Tang Shunyuan, the teacher, arrived. He was also visibly surprised when he saw Bai Xifeng present. He began teaching the lesson, and he told Bai Xifeng that she could consult Li Qiao regarding the lessons she had missed.
During the final minutes of the class, Li Qiao asked Tang Shunyuan about the specific poison that Bai Xifeng had mentioned before the session began.
"Where exactly did you hear about that?" Tang Shunyuan asked.
"From her." Li Qiao pointed his finger directly at Bai Xifeng.
"Xifeng?" Tang Shunyuan’s eyes turned toward Bai Xifeng.
"I met with someone afflicted by that poison. That person had been poisoned for a long time. She was very lucky that she met me. I managed to cure her and extracted the poison from her body." Bai Xifeng stated.
"You extracted the poison itself?" Tang Shunyuan asked for clarification.
"Hmm... Since we are all here, let me show it to you." Bai Xifeng said.
She pulled out her storage rune and took out the glass jar that contained the extracted poison. Both of them were already used to Bai Xifeng’s unique way of retrieving items. However, they were left speechless upon seeing how Bai Xifeng had stored the toxic substance.
"You just store the poison like that?" Tang Shunyuan asked, sounding stunned. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
"Huh? What?" Bai Xifeng could not understand the reason for his shock.
"You should not put the poison inside the rune without sealing the jar properly! What if the poison leaks out? It is extremely dangerous for the other items kept inside that rune." Tang Shunyuan exclaimed.
"Oh... About that? You don’t have to worry. There is nothing inside the rune." Bai Xifeng explained.
"You took out everything else just to store the poison?" Tang Shunyuan asked.
"Of course not. I simply have a lot of storage runes." Bai Xifeng showed them her collection of multiple storage runes.
Tang Shunyuan and Li Qiao were both surprised. They had momentarily forgotten that this girl was a skilled Inscriber. She could easily create as many storage runes as she desired.
"Oh... Let’s go back to our main topic." Bai Xifeng said, pointing at the glass jar. "This is what I extracted from that patient’s body."
"Can I take a closer look?" Tang Shunyuan asked.
"Sure." Bai Xifeng nodded, handing the glass jar over to Tang Shunyuan.
Tang Shunyuan took the glass jar, opened the lid carefully, and examined it. He also smelled it.
"It was indeed Spirit Wither Root. This... It is mixed with powdered lead-zinc. However, it is incredibly concentrated. I really could not imagine what happened to the person who had been poisoned with this." Tang Shunyuan stated.
"Well, as I said earlier, she was almost dead. If she had taken just one more sip on that day, she might have had to face King Yama." Bai Xifeng said.
"Okay... I will give you your homework now." Tang Shunyuan suddenly announced.
"Eh... Why is it so sudden?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Because I can." Tang Shunyuan replied simply.
Bai Xifeng and Li Qiao both looked at Tang Shunyuan with annoyed expressions clearly pasted on their faces.
"I will give you two separate assignments. Li Qiao, you should tell Bai Xifeng the names of the poisons that you learned while she was not here. List the ingredients and how to make them. Not only that, but you also need to find out their symptoms. As for you, Bai Xifeng, take this poison as your assignment. The tasks for you are also the same." Tang Shunyuan stated.
Bai Xifeng and Li Qiao looked at each other and reluctantly accepted the assignment. Tang Shunyuan then left the classroom.
Li Qiao began packing up his items, getting ready to leave the room.
