Craved by the Wrong Volkov-Chapter 375: Reason for her obsession
Lucien’s POV
Raphael’s words broke something in Amelia.
I watched in silence as everything collapsed around her. Raphael looked completely broken and devastated in a way he looked pitifully yet my mind was still spinning the fact that Natalia helped Amelia.
It didn’t make any sense to me. In the past, I thought she favoured Amelia since she practically raised her and she was like family yet my gut had this feeling that something was wrong.
"Raphael please don’t say that I love you," she begged with tears rolling down her face. Raphael glared daggers at her. His breathing grew frantic.
"You don’t love me, Amelia. You are just an obsessed Psycho..." he chuckled through his tears brushing his fingers through his hair.
"But why? What did I do to deserve this?" He asked. "I treated you like a sister Amelia why did you have to destroy the one thing that made sense in my life.." he cried with bloodshot eyes
The murderous intent in his gaze could kill her instantly. Amelia clenched her fist until her knuckles turned white. "I never wanted to be your sister. I want to be the one on your heart" she snapped.
"And you think someone as vile as you can." Raphael scoffed. "Every second you touched me my skin crawled. You disgusted me so much I couldn’t bring myself to touch my wife, scared I would pass your rot to her..."
Amelia went silent, she was completely humiliated.
Raphael drew in a deep breath to steady his emotions. "Just tell me one thing. " he drawled. "Did mum know you were faking your pregnancy?" He asked, his teeth were gritting together
Amelia couldn’t reply immediately. Every second drew suffocatingly slow. "She never knew. All she helped me do was to frame Lynn and get us together. The rest was me." She admitted to glancing at Raphael.
"I did it because of you Raphael. I love you so desperately that I can do anything for us to be together. "
A loud laugh rang in the room followed by my deep voice. "Are you still telling that lie Amelia?" I scoffed then gave her a look that terrified her.
"Raphael let me tell you a secret about Amelia.." I chirped, Amelia’s head snapped at me.
"Please don’t," she begged but she was in no place to tell me what to do.
I ignored her, my gaze pinned her to the floor. "Years ago Amelia confessed to me after our final exam in secondary school.." I explained smoothly.
The room went silent. "I rejected her and that’s how her obsession for you started." I paused, letting the words sink into her head.
"We look alike, same build, height and better you were more composed so she thought you were an easier target. But what she never expected was for you to deeply fall for Lynn. That ate her up and the obsession to have you grew. She didn’t want to be the loser..."
The silence was deafening. The blow of realising the reason Amelia’s obsession started wasn’t because of actual love left him pale. My words struck the nail on the head
Having seen enough of this show I grew bored and stepped toward the door, no longer interested. My hand gripped the door, before I left I gave one last statement. "I already sent evidence of Richard’s murder and the drugging incident to the police," I said. "They should be here by now."
Amelia froze, everything snapped immediately. Her expression twisted and without a moment of hesitation she shoved past me and ran
She bolted out of the room, panic driving her forward. Neither of us followed, it was pointless. I smiled then followed after her. Amelia barely made it far when she was tackled to the floor.
A few seconds later, shouting echoed from the hallway. Amelia was pinned to the floor, and she was cursing and struggling to break free from their grip. Her screams filled the air as officers tackled her to the ground. "Let go of me.. You would regret it." She screamed.
"You are being arrested for fraud, toxication and murder. Ma’am, you have the right to remain silent ." The officer started saying her rights.
"I didn’t do anything.." she screamed then glanced at Raphael crying.. "Raphael please don’t let them take me away I love you. "
Raphael clenched his fist, his eyes were dead.."Take her away officer." He said coldly. She was yanked from the ground looking like her world just collapsed.
She stopped screaming as soon as she realised Raphael had no intentions of helping her. I watched them drag her away.
The only reason I used Richard’s fake death evidence was that it was clean, the other evidence would complicate things. Amelia had no idea Richard escaped her first murder attempt and was handled by me. Sylvia, Richard and even Sylvia’s mother were taken care of by me
Amelia had to go to jail for her crimes, I’m going to make sure she gets a life sentence there I would make sure she understands why she should have never messed with an Orlov most especially me
I didn’t want her to die. That would be mercy for her.
I glanced over to Raphael. He was eerily quiet. I didn’t say a word and followed the police. I signalled the head of the operation to come over.
"Mr Volkov. Thank you for the help." She thanked me. The lead was a woman in her late thirties in a sharp uniform and a no-nonsense face. Her hair was pulled into a bun giving her a sharp dominating presence.
I pulled out my phone which had been recording everything Amelia said about Natalia from my pocket. The voice started playing word-for-word everything Amelia said about Natalia.
I wasn’t letting any of them go. The lead investigator’s face turned stern as she listened until I ended it after Raphael asked about the pregnancy
"I understand. I will arrange an arrest warrant for Mrs Volkov. Thanks for the help once again. " she said, then quickly brought out her phone.
"I need back up to head straight to the residence of Mrs Natalia Volkov while an emergency arrest warrant should be processed.." she instructed on the phone.
With Natalia’s status they couldn’t arrest her abruptly without a proper warrant but with the severity of the crime. Natalia had access to banned drugs, which was drug trafficking and a serious offence.
She hung up the call. "We would watch her closely in case she attempts to flee before her warrant is processed."
