Chapter 950: Chapter 950: Blocking His Attack

Si Tang was pushed back several steps, her arms going numb from the sheer force of the impact. This was the true power of a Low Rank Cold Core Realm cultivator, whereas she was merely a Mid-Rank Congealing Channels Realm cultivator.

Before she could recover, another strike whistled from her blind spot. She had no idea an attack was coming, but a slender hand intercepted it effortlessly.

Bai Xifeng casually blocked Si Wunjian’s assault as if it were nothing. Upon contact, the violent energy dispersed like mist.

"You..." Si Wunjian gasped, slightly shocked.

"You can not kill her." Bai Xifeng said.

Her reasoning was simple. Si Tang had not yet paid her treatment fee. If she died, Bai Xifeng would lose her money.

Si Wunjian immediately retreated, landing several meters away. His gaze sharpened as he stared her down.

"You are not just a pharmacist." Si Wunjian muttered, narrowing his eyes.

"What? It is not a rare occurrence. There are plenty of strong cultivators with their own unique professions." Bai Xifeng replied, letting out a soft, melodic chuckle.

The atmosphere shifted instantly. While Si Wunjian’s aura was overwhelming, Bai Xifeng’s presence was unfathomable. It was quiet and calm, yet it felt like standing before a bottomless abyss.

Si Tang felt a surge of gratitude toward Bai Xifeng for blocking the blow; otherwise, she would surely have lost her life. However, she did not want Bai Xifeng to interfere any further. She had to fight Si Wunjian herself for her mother’s sake.

"I will fight on my own." Si Tang declared.

Bai Xifeng glanced over and a slow smile spread across her face. She could see the burning determination in Si Tang’s eyes.

"Alright. I will let you handle him," Bai Xifeng nodded.

She stepped back just like that, acting as if the life-and-death battle meant absolutely nothing to her.

Watching this interaction, Si Wunjian scoffed, his aura surging once more.

"Arrogant. Let’s see how long you can last without her help!" Si Wunjian roared.

He charged forward again with even greater speed.

Si Tang did not retreat. Instead, she stepped forward. Her sword trembled slightly in her grip... then steadied. Her eyes sharpened.

Their weapons clashed repeatedly, sparks flying with every collision. The sheer force of their battle sent shockwaves across the hall, forcing the elders to erect barriers to protect themselves from the fallout. Si Wunjian’s attacks were fierce and relentless, each strike dripping with killing intent.

Yet, Si Tang did not falter. Her movements became smoother, sharper, and faster. Each exchange refined her technique further, turning the battle into a trial by fire.

"Is that all?" Si Wunjian sneered. He raised his hand, and spiritual energy condensed violently within his palm. "I will end this right now!" 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

He thrust his hand forward. A devastating blast surged toward Si Tang, tearing through the air. Her eyes narrowed. Rather than dodging, she decided to face it head-on.

Seeing his daughter in danger, Si Wuntian tried to rush to her side, but he found himself blocked. It seemed they had been cordoned off by an array.

"Si Tang!" Si Wuntian shouted in desperation.

Si Tang heard nothing in that moment; she was entirely focused on the fight. She raised her sword vertically. Her aura condensed, compressed, and focused into a single, sharp point.

For a brief moment, everything went silent. Si Tang slashed through the blast sent by Si Wunjian. The energy wave parted cleanly, crashing into the walls on either side and exploding into fragments.

Si Wunjian’s eyes widened in pure shock. "Impossible! How can you do that?" He shouted.

He could not believe his eyes at what had happened at the moment.

He could not believe his eyes. Si Tang stood there, her breathing steady, but something fundamental had shifted. Her aura was no longer stable. It was rising.

"No way..." An elder whispered.

"Is she breaking through?" Another elder chimed in.

At that moment, a surge of power erupted from Si Tang’s body. She successfully broke through to become a High Rank Congealing Channels Realm cultivator.

Si Wunjian’s expression darkened completely.

"A breakthrough? You dare to use me as your stepping stone? Even with a breakthrough, you are still lower than me!" Si Wunjian said coldly.

"If I can stop your attack once, I can stop it twice," Si Tang replied coolly.

Those words were the final spark. Si Wunjian’s killing intent exploded.

"Then, die!" Si Wunjian shouted.

He vanished again, but this time, he wasn’t aiming for Si Tang. He appeared behind Bai Xifeng, his hand shooting forward, aiming straight for her heart.

"Everything is in ruins because of you! Die!" Si Wunjian screamed.

He assumed Bai Xifeng would never expect him to switch targets, hoping to catch her off guard.

However, the reality was far different. A beast materialised behind Bai Xifeng and blocked the attack. The creature did not just stop him. It bit off Si Wunjian’s arm, tearing it away until it hit the ground.

"Ah!!!" Si Wunjian screamed in agony. "My arm... my arm!"

Everyone stood stunned, watching the situation unfold. Some recognized the beast as the same one they had seen yesterday. Si Wunjian, however, had not been there and had no idea Bai Xifeng possessed a contracted beast.

"You should not have done that." Bai Xifeng said, looking down at Si Wunjian on the ground. "You probably could have won if you had not set your eyes on me, you know..."

"You probably win if you don’t set your eyes on me, you know..." Bai Xifeng sighed.

Bai Xifeng walked toward Si Wunjian. A faint, crushing pressure descended. He could not move. He could not breathe. It felt as if an invisible hand was crushing his very soul.
