The Rising Phoenix-Chapter 128: Someone Blocked Our Letter
Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Someone Blocked Our Letter
"Xiao Li..." Bai Xifeng called Xiao Li.
"Yes, Young Miss?"’Xiao Li looked at Bai Xifeng wondering what her young miss wanted to tell her.
"Do you remember the letter that I asked you to send to my father and brother?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Oh, I remember." Xiao Li nodded.
"How long it would take a letter to arrive at the border?" Bai Xifeng asked.
Xiao Li thought for a moment. "When I asked the person, he told me it might take about a week if the letter is not urgent."
"So, the letter should have arrived at its destination, right?" Bai Xifeng thought.
It was almost three weeks since she sent the letter. Her father probably already received the letter.
"Yes." Xiao Li nodded.
"So, we did not receive any response yet?" Bai Xifeng was waiting for their response.
"We still have not received anything." Xiao Li said.
"Or maybe someone blocked our letter." Bai Xifeng said.
Xiao Li was looking shocked.
"It is one way to confirm it." Bai Xifeng said.
So, that evening, Bai Xifeng and Xiao Li went to see the person in charge of delivering and receiving the letter.
As Bai Xifeng and Xiao Li stepped into the building, a lot of eyes were watching them, especially at Bai Xifeng.
A man approached and welcomed Bai Xifeng.
"Welcome young miss. What can I help you with?" The man asked.
"I want to ask something." Bai Xifeng said.
"Sure... sure... Let’s sit down here." The man said.
He then led Bai Xifeng and Xiao Li sat.
"I am Jiang Changpu. So, what do you want to know?" Jiang Changpu asked.
"I want to know if you already delivered a letter to Bai Xiang." Bai Xifeng asked.
"What? To the General Bai Xiang?" Jiang Changpu was surprised.
"Yes, a few weeks earlier, I asked my maid, her, to deliver a letter to my father, Bai Xiang. So, do you deliver the letter as you promise?" Bai Xifeng pointed to Xiao Li who stood behind Bai Xifeng.
Bai Xifeng smiled at Jiang Changpu. However, Jiang Changpu could feel the cold stare from Bai Xifeng even though she was smiling.
Actually, his father told him that he needed to ignore the letter which the General Bai Xiang’s daughter. They only needed to process the letter from General Bai’s Residence to be sent to the border.
So, when someone sent the letter to them to be sent to General Baj Xiang from an unknown person, they ignored the letter. They already lost the letter.
"Well..." Jiang Changpu hesitated to tell the truth.
He already heard the rumour about General Bai Xiang’s daughter, Bai Xifeng. She already become a talented cultivator. He assumed the beautiful girl in front of him right now was the rumour Bai Xifeng.
"Never mind. I already got the answer. I will leave now. Xiao Li, let’s go." Bai Xifeng said.
"Wait." Jiang Changpu stopped Bai Xifeng.
"What is it?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"It is the order from General Bai Residence. We don’t have any choice." Jiang Changpu stated.
"I see." Bai Xifeng only smiled and left the building with Xiao Li.
"Young Miss, what does he mean by that?" Xiao Li could not understand.
"My letter has been stopped by people from General Bai Residence. They don’t want me to send a letter to my father." Bai Xifeng explained.
"What? Why did they do something like that?" Xiao Li felt angry.
"Maybe because they are afraid that I would tell my father about everything that they had done to me." Bai Xifeng said.
"So, what should we do next? Should we send another letter?" Xiao Li asked.
"No need for that." Bai Xifeng shook her head.
She already planned something else.
Bai Xifeng and Xiao Li returned home. When they stepped into the gate, they were stopped by a servant.
"Third Young Miss, Second Master wants to see you at the main hall." The servant informed Bai Xifeng respectfully. He did not dare to look at Bai Xifeng as he had done before.
"Tsk... Why does he want this time?" Bai Xifeng clicked her tongue.
Bai Xifeng wondered what Bai Guowei wanted to tell her. Well, she noticed that Bai Guowei wanted to tell something to her on the day when Bai Xifeng meeting with the emperor. However, because of Liu Longwei’s appearance, he could not say anything.
"Okay. I will go." Bai Xifeng said.
So, they went to the main hall. She thought only Bai Guowei was there. She never thought that Old Madam Bai, Han Yunru, Bai Zihao and Xiao Shuchun were there too.
Even though Bai Xifeng did not want to pay respect, she did it anyway. She did not want people to say something about that.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" Bai Xifeng looked straight at Bai Guowei.
"What? How could you talk to your uncle like that? It is so rude." Old Madam Bai said.
"Tell me which part that showing me to say something rude?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"The way you talk to your elder." Old Madam Bai pointed.
"Tsk... It is the way I am talking right now. I will not alter it." Bai Xifeng said. She looked at Bai Guowei again. "So, what is it? I don’t have much time to bother about this crap."
Old Madam Bai wanted to explode again but Bai Guowei did not let her do that.
"What did you talk about with His Majesty?" Bai Guowei asked.
That was what Bai Guowei wanted to know since Bai Xifeng met with the emperor. If not because of his work and the array at Bai Xifeng’s courtyard, he already asked Bai Xifeng about that.
"Oh..." Bai Xifeng suddenly smiled.
Bai Guowei did not feel good when seeing the smile on Bai Xifeng’s lips.
Everyone was probably shocked when they found out that the emperor wanted her to be the future crown princess. They wanted Bai Chunhua to be the future crown princess.
She wondered what kind of face Bai Chunhua would use if she found out that her beloved man wanted to choose another woman instead of her.
"I am sorry. I could not tell you anything." Bai Xifeng shook her head.
"What? Why?" Bai Guowei asked.
"You can ask the emperor about that. No need to ask me about that." Bai Xifeng said.
Bai Guowei looked at Bai Xifeng. There was no reason for Bai Xifeng to keep it a secret. It must be the emperor’s order to keep it a secret.
"Why can’t you just tell us about that?" Han Yunru joined.
"It’s okay. No need to tell us anymore." Bai Guowei said.
"Dear..." Han Yunru looked at Bai Guowei. She saw Bai Guowei shake his head.
’Fine.’ Han Yunru gave up on that. She still wanted to find a point to get angry with Bai Xifeng. And she found one.
"As a girl, you should not go out so often. It would look bad for your reputation." Han Yunru suddenly said that.
Bai Xifeng rolled her eyes to Han Yunru. Then she remembered something.
"Really? I can not go out? But your daughter often goes out. She even goes out with a man. And the man was engaged before." Bai Xifeng responded.
Bai Xifeng mentioned about Bai Chunhua who liked to go out with the crown prince before.
"You!" Han Yunru became angry.
"Too bad that your daughter needs to lie down on the bed right now. Otherwise, she might be following the crown prince anywhere. She must be happy since her dream to become the future crown princess would not be a dream anymore." Bai Xifeng said.
It was Han Yunru’s dream to see her daughter become the crown princess. But when it came from Bai Xifeng’s mouth, it sounded so different.
"My granddaughter will be someone above you. You will kneel down and greet her with respect one day." Old Madam Bai said proudly.
"Oh, please. It would be you guys who need to need to kneel down to her not me. I don’t have to kneel down to greet her. I am sorry about that." Bai Xifeng said.
Old Madam Bai forgot about that. Indeed, Bai Xifeng did not have to do that. They would need to kneel down to Bai Chunhua in the future if she successfully became the crown princess.
"And you also going to kneel down to greet me in future." Bai Xifeng grinned.
