The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 74 - 73: Attack Talisman!
A Jiao Dragon in a cave?
Qin Fan’s eyes suddenly flew open. Forgetting his previous words entirely, he said, "Go to the village-in-the-city in Wuhe City. From the entrance, go straight for seven hundred meters, then turn left for one hundred and fifty meters. I’ll wait for you at the lotus pond pavilion there!"
"Okay, okay, Master Qin! Wait for me, I’ll be right there!"
As Ma Yunbin’s voice trailed off, Qin Fan ended the call. The moment he hung up, an uncontrollable excitement flushed his face, and even his breathing grew slightly uneven.
He had lived on the Cangqiong Continent for five hundred years and had cultivated to the Mahayana Great Perfection stage, only a single step away from becoming an Ascension Immortal. He should have possessed more than enough composure. But where was this? This was Earth, a world completely different from the Cangqiong Continent! It was a planet with scarce Spiritual Energy and extremely rare Mutant Beasts.
It was like a billionaire, lost in the desert, suddenly finding a source of water. How could he not be excited? How could he possibly remain calm? To Qin Fan, the news was exactly that—finding water in a desert. A Jiao Dragon, a creature that was a treasure from head to tail, was simply too tempting for him in his current state.
Never mind the immense boost its Crystal Core could give his Cultivation. Its blood, tendons, bones, and even its scales and hide could be refined into second-grade or perhaps even third-grade Elixirs, if used properly.
At that moment, Qin Fan made his decision. As long as Ma Yunbin was telling the truth, he would capture this treasure-laden creature no matter what. Suppressing the frantic eagerness in his heart, Qin Fan slowly walked toward the lotus pond pavilion.
About ten minutes later, while Qin Fan was contemplating with his hands clasped behind his back, Ma Yunbin expertly swung his car into a parking space. He scrambled out of the vehicle, rushing over to Qin Fan and panting, "Master Qin!"
"Catch your breath," Qin Fan said with a mature smile.
"Hehe, I’m fine, I’m fine!" Ma Yunbin replied quickly.
"Then tell me about the Jiao Dragon. Are you sure?" Qin Fan dropped the pleasantries, his expression turning completely serious.
Faced with Qin Fan’s solemn inquiry, Ma Yunbin dared not exaggerate. He answered truthfully, "Master Qin, I’m not certain if there really is a Jiao Dragon, but I can confirm that many Fortune Tellers and Magicians have already secretly headed to Dianbai. Barring any surprises, they are definitely going for the Jiao Dragon!"
Every time he mentioned the words "Jiao Dragon," his face lit up with unconcealable excitement.
What kind of existence is a Jiao Dragon! If I’m lucky enough to see one in my lifetime, I could brag about it forever!
After a moment, Ma Yunbin continued, "Whether it’s real or not, I want to go and check it out. Master Qin, are you interested in going together?"
"Where did you get this information?" Qin Fan asked with a frown, not answering the question directly.
"A Fortune Teller I know let it slip. It’s a secret, not public knowledge. It was just a coincidence," Ma Yunbin explained without hiding anything.
Hearing this, Qin Fan stopped hesitating. "Alright, let’s make the trip. I have a few things to take care of. Wait for me here; I’ll be back in three hours."
"What? Master Qin, those Fortune Tellers and Magicians have already left! In three hours, it’ll be too late!" Ma Yunbin said, growing anxious.
"Don’t worry. If there truly is a Jiao Dragon, you will definitely get to see it. Trust me. Wait for me here for three hours."
After saying this, Qin Fan paid Ma Yunbin no more mind and began walking out of the pavilion.
I know the tricks of those so-called Fortune Tellers and Magicians all too well. From the perspective of Face Reading, the most opportune time to act is between seven in the morning and one in the afternoon. To ensure a foolproof result, I believe they would certainly not attempt to cast their spells at any other time. By the time they arrive, it will already be past one o’clock. Therefore, leaving in three hours won’t affect a thing. Besides, with my current cultivation at the initial stage of Qi Refinement, I’m not confident I could defeat a Jiao of unknown Grade without the aid of Talismans. Three hours is exactly the time I need to create them.
Watching Qin Fan’s retreating figure, Ma Yunbin was completely stunned. Hearing Qin Fan’s confident and self-assured words, he felt that the air of mystery around him was only growing deeper.
How is he so certain we’ll make it in time?
Despite his many questions and doubts, Ma Yunbin could only suppress them. Since Qin Fan had spoken, he had no choice but to wait.
Back at the old building, Qin Fan didn’t enter his own apartment. Instead, he walked up to the unrented room on the third floor. As a wisp of his True Qi seeped out, the locked door unlatched on its own. Qin Fan stepped inside and locked it behind him.
He laid out the stack of Yellow Paper sheet by sheet on the floor, then sat down cross-legged. Closing his eyes, he began to concentrate and circulate his energy. Within his clear mind, he called forth the Cangqiong Refining Body Decision. His lips moved up and down, ceaselessly murmuring an incantation.
A quarter of an hour later, his cross-legged body slowly began to levitate. True Qi burst from him like a shockwave, and faintly, the invisible energy formed a shield around the entire rental room.
Then, Qin Fan shouted, "Rise!" At his command, the sheets of Yellow Paper on the floor flipped upright one by one. They then shot into the air, hovering in a spinning circle around him. The scene was incredibly eerie. If anyone had seen it, they would have been scared half to death. However, under the protection of his True Qi, nothing short of a bomb could break through the door now.
After the Yellow Paper had risen and stabilized, Qin Fan channeled the pure Mixed Element Qi from his Dantian to his fingertips and began sketching rapidly on the hovering sheets.
SWISH, SWISH, SWISH—
After a few strokes, the sheet of Yellow Paper he was working on fluttered limply to the floor. This outcome was not unexpected. Qin Fan turned to the next sheet, but the result was the same.
After seven or eight consecutive failures, he gave a bitter, internal smile. Just as I thought. Crafting Attack Talismans at the initial stage of Qi Refinement is still too much of a stretch. But so what if it’s a stretch? I vow to create them within three hours!
With that thought, Qin Fan paused his drawing, letting the remaining sheets of Yellow Paper hover in the air around him. After concentrating for another ten-or-so minutes, he made his move once more. This time, his actions were much faster than before.
SWISH, SWISH, SWISH—
The yellow paper sheets continued to fall. Finally, on the twenty-third sheet, the paper began to emit a golden glow under Qin Fan’s strokes. It didn’t fall like the others but rose a few inches higher, hovering steadily with a golden sheen. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Success, finally! But one is nowhere near enough.
Not daring to lose focus, Qin Fan continued to wave his fingers.
Two and a half hours later, more than ninety percent of the hundred or so sheets of Yellow Paper that had been floating around Qin Fan now lay on the ground. Only thirteen remained hovering above his head.
Thirteen should be enough.
Murmuring softly, Qin Fan retracted his outwardly projected True Qi. Instantly, his body dropped from mid-air, and the successfully drawn Attack Talismans fell with him. Once he landed, he raised his hand. The thirteen Attack Talismans, as if possessing a spiritual quality, neatly stacked themselves and floated into his palm.
He glanced at the time. Without bothering to clean up the mess of scattered Yellow Paper on the floor, he strode out of the rental room.
A few minutes later, under the rays of the setting sun, Qin Fan appeared once again at the lotus pond pavilion.
Ma Yunbin, who had been waiting anxiously, hurried forward. "Master Qin, let’s go! I’m really afraid we’ll be too late if we delay any longer!"
