The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 22 - 21: Meeting Gift? Not really! (Please favorite, please recommend!)_2
SNAP.
Despite the distance of several meters, Qin Fan’s finger flick cracked sharply against Ye Jizu’s leg. Enduring the agony, Ye Jizu clenched his teeth.
"Get up," Qin Fan said nonchalantly, shaking his head. "If there’s a next time, not even the Heavenly King will be able to save you."
"Thank you, Lord Qin!"
To have survived an encounter with a Grandmaster at the mere cost of a leg—Ye Jizu felt he was fortunate. With that, he placed his hands on the ground and struggled to push himself up. His right leg could still move after Qin Fan’s remote strike, but it could no longer exert any real strength. Other than being dragged along by his left leg, it was no different from being completely crippled.
"Lord Jizu, is your Mountain and Water Manor still open for me to go all-in?" Qin Fan asked suddenly, a deep, playful smile spreading across his face as he watched Ye Jizu’s pain begin to subside.
"Lord Qin, could you please call me Little Jizu? The title ’Lord Jizu’ fills me with shame!" Hearing the address, Ye Jizu’s heart hammered in his chest, and his entire body trembled with nervousness. Without waiting for a response, he rushed on, "Lord Qin, perhaps it’s no longer suitable for you to go all-in at the Mountain and Water Manor!"
"Scoundrel, what did you say!" Before Qin Fan could even speak, the panic returned to Ye Congjun’s face, which had just begun to relax. His complexion went deathly pale, and his heart hammered in his chest as he reflexively roared at his son.
Facing Ye Congjun’s thoughtless roar and Qin Fan’s playful smile, Ye Jizu limped two steps forward, a faint smile on his bloodless face. He had already cast aside all thoughts of pain and humiliation. To have escaped death was the greatest fortune for this man who held sway over Jiangzhou and much of Lingnan.
Licking his lips, which were still stained with blood, Ye Jizu said, "Father, I plan to give the Mountain and Water Manor to Lord Qin as a gift to mark our new acquaintance, forged from conflict. In his own establishment, would it still be appropriate for Lord Qin to play all-in?"
Gift the Mountain and Water Manor away? Ye Congjun was stunned. The entire upper echelon of Jiangzhou knew how much the manor meant to Ye Jizu, yet now he was giving it away so easily? The total investment to build the Mountain and Water Manor from the ground up was no less than five billion, and there were other shareholders involved. When did this cursed son of mine become so daring?
But his shock lasted only a moment. In the next instant, Ye Congjun understood Ye Jizu’s intention and cursed himself for his own foolishness. If it meant securing the backing of a Grandmaster, he would be willing to give far more than just one Mountain and Water Manor. Only those at their level could truly understand the immense influence that came with being on good terms with a Grandmaster. Hua Xiaotian was far too distant, but here before them was a true Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm.
"Lord Qin, what do you think of my unfilial son’s gesture?" Ye Congjun’s voice grew urgent. He knew a Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm viewed worldly possessions lightly. Still, it didn’t stop him from fantasizing about Qin Fan accepting the offer. If he did, they would have undoubtedly established a friendly relationship. The allure of befriending a Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm was something he, Ye Congjun, simply couldn’t resist. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
A manor worth several billion as a gift? A gift from the very man whose leg and finger I just crippled? How ironic that sounds. With my return as the Shura Venerable, is there anything in this mortal world I couldn’t have if I wanted it? To be indebted over a manor worth a few billion? As if I needed to.
With a dismissive shake of his head and a smile, Qin Fan looked at the expectant father and son. "I don’t think much of it." He then turned to Ye Congjun. Activating his Eyes of Golden Flame, his brow furrowed in surprise. "Mr. Ye," he said, "you should find some time to get a thorough medical check-up."
How did the topic jump from a gift to a health check? Not just Ye Congjun, but Ye Jizu too was taken aback, unable to comprehend Qin Fan’s meaning. Ye Congjun had a dedicated personal physician; what could possibly be wrong with him? Why would Qin Fan say such a thing? As they stood there in confused contemplation, Qin Fan’s figure vanished from the golf course.
「In the casino.」
When Qin Fan returned, completely unscathed, everyone was stunned. That included Zhou Xueman, who had been watching him with covert intensity. How is this possible? How could Lord Jizu, the man whose word is law in Jiangzhou’s Underworld, let him go so easily? There must be a catch. This loser must have used some trick to deceive Lord Jizu! Completely baffled, her delicate brows furrowed deeply. Inexplicably, her gaze followed Qin Fan’s figure as she slowly moved closer.
Not only had Qin Fan returned, but he had returned to the very same gambling table. This shattered everyone’s expectations. Don’t tell me this outcast of the Qin family wants to keep betting after getting caught cheating? Is today April Fool’s Day?
"My chips are still here, aren’t they?" Seeing Qin Fan approach, the powerful figures at the table subconsciously parted to let him through, their eyes wide with disbelief. Qin Fan smiled and returned to his original spot, looking at the staff members beside the croupier.
"Yes, yes, they are!" one of the staff members stammered, nodding his head like a chicken pecking at grain. They were utterly dumbfounded. Was there anyone in Jiangzhou who could escape Lord Jizu’s Five-Finger Mountain? Could anyone return safely to the Mountain and Water Manor after being caught cheating? Has the world gone mad today?
"Good. Can I place my bet for this round?" Qin Fan asked with a slow nod. He showed no sign of smugness. To me, the so-called powerful people here are no different from ants. Why would I bother showing off to ants? As if.
"Yes, you can bet now!" the female croupier replied, her voice trembling slightly. Sweat beaded on her palms, and she had even forgotten to put on her usual mechanical smile. For some reason, the sight of Qin Fan sent a chill down her spine. It was as if her sixth sense was already foreseeing a massive payout rolling over from a bet of over a hundred million.
"Good. All-in on eight," Qin Fan said with a calm smile, his expression unchanging.
At that moment, every single dignitary and gambler in the hall held their breath. A bet of over one hundred million in chips, all-in on eight points. He was clearly planning to use his cheating methods to drain the Mountain and Water Manor of its funds. But where did this outcast of the Qin family get such audacity? What exactly happened when he was taken to see Lord Jizu? Why did he return unharmed? A storm of questions flooded their minds.
From a spot where Qin Fan couldn’t see her, Zhou Xueman stared blankly in utter disbelief. This world has gone mad!
The gambling hall, usually a cacophony of shouts and chatter, fell into an unprecedented, deathly silence. After two staff members tremblingly pushed forward the chips worth over one hundred million, the bell on the table rang. It was time to reveal the dice. The bell seemed to jolt the female croupier from a dream. Her delicate frame shuddered, and she swallowed nervously, her throat dry. With sweaty palms, she slowly lifted the dice cup.
"2, 2, 4! Eight points, Small!"
As the three dice came into view, time seemed to stand still. Eight points, an eight-to-one payout. A bet of over one hundred million, resulting in a payout of over one billion!
An uproar swept through the crowd. Everyone felt like they were watching something out of a dream. How could Lord Jizu tolerate such a cheater causing trouble? And why was this troublemaking cheater the universally despised and ridiculed outcast of the Qin family? Had it been anyone else, the shock might not have been so profound. But Qin Fan? This was simply too inconceivable, too fantastic to be real.
In the dead silence where you could hear a pin drop, Qin Fan smiled leisurely. With his Eyes of Golden Flame that could see through anything, there was nothing to be proud of.
Just over a billion. That should last me for a while. With that thought, he decided to cash out. He turned to the two staff members and the croupier. "You three can each take one million in chips. It’s a tip. Now, find someone to exchange the rest of my chips for cash. I’m done for today."
