The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 19: Boss Qin, I Was Wrong! (Asking for recommendation votes, asking for rewards!)
Ye Congjun was desperate to find a way to curry favor with and cling to such a powerful figure, yet Ye Jizu had to go and provoke him at this critical juncture. How could he not panic? How could he not be furious?
Forget a Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm! Even an ordinary expert at the peak of Dark Energy is not someone the Ye Family can afford to provoke! "A Grandmaster’s wrath leaves a trail of corpses for a thousand miles." If anyone thinks this saying is a joke, Hua Xiaotian’s actions two years ago would serve as a brutal slap in the face to that notion. Single-handedly, he annihilated an entire armed drug-trafficking organization on the border—a group protected by several mercenary groups. Keep in mind, these were over a thousand desperadoes armed to the teeth, and there were more than a few Martial Artists among them! Even a force of that caliber was wiped out by Hua Xiaotian alone, without him suffering a single scratch. One could figure out just how absurdly powerful a Grandmaster is with half a brain! What could the Ye Family possibly muster to withstand a Grandmaster’s fury?
And yet now, that ignorant and unaccomplished black sheep of the Ye Family, who had only managed to cultivate an aura of the Martial World, had pushed the family into opposition with a Grandmaster?
Ye Congjun’s old body began to tremble violently with panic.
"Dad, Dad, do you... do you know him?" Ye Jizu, who had called Ye Congjun "Old Master" since he was eighteen, was utterly flustered. After twenty years, he once again cried out "Dad," revealing the psychological devastation he was facing.
"Wang Lu couldn’t even take a single blow from him! Right in front of my eyes!" Ye Congjun’s white, sword-like eyebrows trembled as he roared, attempting to compose himself, but it was futile.
Wang Lu, a martial artist at the Great Success stage of Dark Energy, couldn’t even take one hit?
Hearing his father’s roar, Ye Jizu trembled violently as if struck by lightning.
CLANG!
The phone slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.
If even a martial artist at Great Success in Dark Energy was instantly defeated, what level did that represent? Dark Energy Peak? A Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm?
All the color drained from Ye Jizu’s face, which was completely shrouded in fear. Then, despair swept over him.
For someone of his status, death at the hands of a Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm would be utterly meaningless! Even if Qin Fan killed him, the Ye Family wouldn’t dare seek revenge. Instead, they would have to grovel and use every means of appeasement to placate Qin Fan’s anger!
"You dropped your phone," Qin Fan’s voice drifted over lazily, cutting through Ye Jizu’s unprecedented fear. With a mocking expression, Qin Fan pointed his golf club at the phone on the ground.
His legs already weak and trembling, Ye Jizu instinctively squatted to pick up the phone. But when he tried to stand, he found his legs were completely numb. He couldn’t straighten them at all.
"You wretched brute, are you even listening to me?! Speak up!" Before he could even put the upside-down phone back to his ear, Ye Congjun’s increasingly frantic roar sounded again.
"Dad, Dad, I’m listening, I’m listening! What do I do? What do I do now? I was wrong, I was wrong!" Ye Jizu was on the verge of tears. The title of Grandmaster alone was enough to scare him into crying. Unless he had come to terms with life and death, how could he possibly grow tired of this glamorous, decadent life?
"Whatever it takes, you keep Qin Fan there! You must not provoke him any further! Absolutely not! I’m on my way now! Damn it, the Ye Family... one day you’ll be the ruin of this family, you disgrace!"
Ye Congjun hung up without waiting for a response, the sound of car horns blaring in the background. He ordered his driver to race toward Mountain and Water Manor at top speed.
"Well now, Master Zu, what seems to be the matter?" Qin Fan asked with a sneering laugh, glancing at Ye Jizu, who could only remain in a squat, his legs numb. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Master Zu? Being called Master Zu by a Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm?
Hearing Qin Fan’s mocking title, Ye Jizu’s face, already pale with fear and despair, flushed a deep red.
"Master Qin, I was wrong!"
Gritting his teeth, Ye Jizu endured the sharp, piercing pain from his paralyzed legs as he lunged forward, kneeling! His knees slammed heavily onto the tender green grass of the golf course.
This was the first time in his life he had ever knelt. But he knew this wasn’t an injustice. He felt no hatred, no humiliation. Kneeling before a Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm wasn’t a disgrace; it was the wisest choice he could make.
"Wrong? Heh..." Qin Fan shook his head noncommittally and chuckled.
He had seen this scene countless times on the Cangqiong Continent. So-called experts would always kneel at the feet of Shura Venerable, begging for mercy, pleading for their lives. But without exception, they all died. To the Qin Fan of that era, whose mindset was so extreme as to be pathological, mercy was a form of slow suicide.
Feeling Qin Fan’s frigid killing intent, Ye Jizu was instantly drenched in a cold sweat. This sense of powerless despair nearly shattered him.
"Master Qin, I beg your forgiveness!" At this moment, Ye Jizu didn’t even have the courage to look up, his voice trembling uncontrollably as he spoke.
"There are two pitiful things in this world: mercy and forgiveness. Tell me, Master Zu, are you worth me staining my life with such pitiful colors?"
From the moment that young martial artist at the entry-level of Dark Energy had attacked him, Qin Fan had intended to kill Ye Jizu. The reason was simple. With Ye Jizu’s status and wealth, Qin Fan believed he had countless ways to harass him like a persistent ant. So, Qin Fan wanted to end it once and for all by killing him.
But after Ye Jizu’s phone call and his current behavior, Qin Fan realized he had overthought things.
"Master Qin, I will atone for my blindness in having offended you! Please spare me!"
Having abandoned all hope of escaping unscathed, Ye Jizu finished speaking and reached out with a trembling right hand for the discarded golf club nearby. Gripping the bottom of the shaft and raising the club head, he brought it smashing down on his left pinky finger, which he had laid flat on the ground.
THUD. THUD. THUD.
He hammered it relentlessly. The finger was completely mangled, blood splattering everywhere. Through it all, Ye Jizu clenched his teeth and endured the agony. Only his contorted features and the large beads of sweat rolling down his face revealed the torment the pampered man was experiencing.
"Master Qin... is this enough?" His left hand remained on the ground; he didn’t dare lift it despite the heart-piercing pain. Gasping for air, he took sharp, uneven breaths, taking nearly ten seconds to force out the few broken words.
"A pinky finger in exchange for an eye and a hand? Master Zu, do you hold yourself in such high regard, or do you see me as so cheap?" Looking at Ye Jizu’s finger, which looked no different from mangled flesh, Qin Fan’s expression remained unchanged as he chuckled with casual indifference.
Hearing Qin Fan’s words, Ye Jizu’s heart plunged once more into an icy abyss. The torment of one finger was already severe enough. Could he endure having other parts of his body tortured?
But he knew that, facing a Grandmaster of the Transformation Realm, he had no choice at all. He understood even better that to a Grandmaster, he was nothing more than an ant groveling on the ground. To escape with his life would be a great fortune amidst this disaster.
"Master Qin... what... what do you... need me to do?" He gulped, swallowing hard. The words seemed to drain him of all his strength.
