The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 138 - 135: Accept or Die!
"Arrogant!" the middle-aged man shouted sharply.
Intense murderous intent poured from him. He knew he might not be Qin Fan’s match, but even if it meant certain death, he had no room for retreat. For the Training Spirit Clan, the half-Spiritual Beasts here were their very lifeline.
"Arrogant? If you say so," Qin Fan replied with a casual smile. Without another look, he tossed his Hemp Vine Whip to the side.
SWOOSH!
A tiger lagging at the back was instantly ensnared by the Hemp Vine Whip. Its body was abruptly wrenched around and, constrained by the whip, it was dragged helplessly toward Qin Fan.
ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!
The roars were a mixture of threat and terror.
It all happened in a flash. Qin Fan shifted his body, leaped into the air, and his hand shot out like a shadow. In an instant, he had grabbed the tiger’s head and slammed it down.
WHINE!
The creature, easily twice the size of a normal tiger, crashed heavily onto the ground. Qin Fan took the opportunity to mount the tiger, which possessed a Third Rank Crystal Core.
"Stay down," he said with a flippant smile. As if it understood him, the colossal tiger’s body trembled and shivered. It let out a low, submissive whine, not daring to move an inch.
It is said that you know an expert by their first move. After witnessing this display, the fiery, murderous rage in the middle-aged man was doused as if by a bucket of cold water. He grew increasingly anxious. Where are the Elder and the clan’s protector? Why aren’t they here yet? 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"So, friend," Qin Fan said with a smile, looking at the middle-aged man, "am I courting death, or just bluffing?"
Here in the depths of Shennongjia, far from the secular world, Qin Fan felt as if he had returned to the Cangqiong Continent of his past life. The roguish arrogance he exuded only grew stronger.
"What in the hell do you want here?! What are you doing?!" Helplessness and rage warred with his reason, creating a profound sense of powerlessness as the middle-aged man roared through clenched teeth.
"Fine, I’ll tell you. I’m staying here for half a month. Get these beasts out of here. After half a month, we go our separate ways. And don’t worry, I won’t breathe a word about your Training Spirit Clan’s so-called secrets to the outside world. You have no choice in the matter. Either you accept, or you die!"
If he still had the same temperament as his past self on the Cangqiong Continent, Qin Fan wouldn’t have wasted a single word. He rarely bothered with talk when a problem could be solved with slaughter. But after his rebirth, his parents were still safe and the tragedies of his past life had yet to occur. Despite the hatred he harbored for the scoundrels who had engineered his previous life’s tragedies, he hadn’t yet regressed to that demonic state of killing at the slightest disagreement.
"Brazen cur! You’re delusional!"
Just as Qin Fan finished speaking, several deep voices rang out from outside the cave. An elderly man, well into his seventies with a full head of silver hair, leaped down accompanied by four other old men. They quickly formed an encirclement around Qin Fan, their eyes gleaming with undisguised murderous intent.
"Fine. If communication has failed, then let’s fight," Qin Fan said, his expression darkening.
However, as he spoke, the elderly man had already leaped into the air, holding a Dragon Head Crutch. He swung it directly at Qin Fan with imposing vigor. Seeing such agility and overwhelming momentum, who would have guessed it came from a man seemingly in his twilight years?
"Earth Evil Seventy-two Forms, First Form—Mountain-Bursting Slash!"
Faced with the menacing Dragon Head Crutch, Qin Fan’s brow furrowed slightly. His body shot upward as Mixed Element True Qi surged from within him. Forming his hand into a blade, he chopped toward the incoming crutch! Even Lan Tianchun, whom he had killed not long ago, hadn’t forced him to use his Martial Arts. The sheer power of this old man’s opening attack made Qin Fan take him seriously.
The silver-haired elder snorted. "Overestimating your own strength!" The domineering force of the crutch in his hand seemed to intensify in that instant.
Facing the accusation, Qin Fan only smiled serenely, the speed of his hand-blade surging even higher. In the blink of an eye, hand and crutch collided.
BANG!
Within the grotto, sheltered by a canopy of leaves so dense it nearly obscured the sky, a thunderous crash echoed from their collision.
The Dragon Head Crutch in the silver-haired elder’s hand did not break under Qin Fan’s Mountain-Bursting Slash, but it buzzed and trembled violently. The force of the impact sent the elder plummeting to the ground, where he stumbled back three steps on trembling legs.
"Who in the world are you?" the silver-haired elder cried out, his voice trembling with disbelief. The horror in his eyes was plain to see.
"If you insist on this, then I’m the man who’s going to kill you," Qin Fan repeated, his patience wearing thin. "Get out, and take the beasts you’re raising with you! After half a month, we stay out of each other’s way!"
"Old Ancestor! We can’t! We must not!" the four elders behind him cried out in unison.
Even the middle-aged man shouted reflexively.
The silver-haired elder knew they couldn’t retreat. "Kill him!" he roared.
This was the ultimate sanctuary of the Training Spirit Clan. If they lost this place, these half-Spiritual Beasts would be stuck at their current stage of development forever. This branch of their clan would never be able to train a Fifth Rank Intelligent Spirit Beast. Under these circumstances, there was no way out other than to kill Qin Fan.
SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!
As the silver-haired elder moved again, the other four elders charged at Qin Fan. Though bare-handed, their power caused the leaves and branches of the surrounding forest to thrash wildly. The silver-haired elder flipped his Dragon Head Crutch, and its massive, open-jawed head shot toward Qin Fan’s heart with blinding speed.
"Hmph. You refused the easy way, so now you’ll get the hard way," Qin Fan sighed, standing his ground. He didn’t dodge as the attacks closed in. Only at the last moment did he leap fiercely from the ground, his body spinning a full 360 degrees as he swung his Hemp Vine Whip.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
The rising Whip Force tore through the air, releasing waves of overwhelming power.
The silver-haired elder, who hadn’t noticed Qin Fan was armed with such a thing, panicked. "Retreat! Quickly!" he yelled.
But it was too late.
Before the four elders, consumed by their killing intent, could even react to his shout, Qin Fan’s sweeping Hemp Vine Whip carved bloody gashes across their faces. Blood streamed from the wounds, a ghastly sight. The four men grunted in pain as the force of the strike sent them flying several meters away.
Pausing in mid-air, Qin Fan wasn’t finished. His target shifted from the four elders to the crutch in the silver-haired elder’s hand. He descended swiftly. Within a single breath, he took several quick steps through the air and landed squarely on the Dragon Head Crutch.
"Your crutch is quite sturdy, isn’t it?" he said with a cheeky smile. "Alright, let’s test it again!"
As he finished speaking, he clenched his fist. A moment later, that fist, brimming with power, smashed down violently on the shaft of the Dragon Head Crutch.
