The Revenge of the Reborn Supreme Sovereign-Chapter 115 - 112: Just for Fun!
It was Qin Fan!
How could it possibly be Qin Fan? How could it be him?
Every student who heard the name was utterly dumbfounded. They would have rather believed they were hearing things than accept the truth.
A slacker like Qin Fan? Maybe he’d be in the running for a zero, but a perfect score achieved by deliberately reversing the multiple-choice answers? Impossible! He couldn’t even copy the answers correctly if you gave them to him!
"Teacher, who did you say it was?" the same student from before asked, his voice filled with disbelief.
"Heh! You heard right. It’s Qin Fan," the homeroom teacher said slowly. "This came as a huge surprise to all of us teachers as well. In all our years of teaching, we have never heard of a single student achieving a perfect score on the mock college entrance exams. But when we graded Qin Fan’s papers, we simply couldn’t find any points to deduct. Even his essay in the Chinese language exam was so brilliantly written that many of us liberal arts teachers were left feeling ashamed. It was impeccable! He truly deserved a perfect score. However, this is still an exam, so we must follow standard grading procedures. Qin Fan’s official total score is only 568 points!"
It wasn’t just the students who were in disbelief; the teacher himself had been stunned for a long time before he could accept the fact. If it had been one of the top-performing students, it might have been easier to swallow. But for someone like Qin Fan, with his middling-to-low grades, to claim he’d achieved a perfect score sounded like something out of a fool’s dream.
Faced with the evidence, however, they had no choice but to believe. As for cheating, not only was it impossible for Qin Fan to have the answer key, but even if he did, he couldn’t have answered every question so perfectly, let alone finish every single exam paper within two hours.
With that, the homeroom teacher turned his gaze back to Qin Fan. His eyes were filled with gratification. He saw Qin Fan’s sudden display of brilliance not as an outburst, but as an eruption of long-accumulated talent. How else could he have managed it?
Taking Qin Fan’s background into account, it wasn’t that his grades were poor before, but that he had chosen to keep a low profile, avoiding the public eye and gathering his strength for an explosive performance in the college entrance exam! Now, with just over a month left, was he finally revealing his true abilities? Yes, that must be it, the homeroom teacher assured himself.
"Qin Fan, can you tell me why you chose to reverse the answers for the multiple-choice questions? Do you think the mock exam isn’t important? You can’t have that kind of attitude. I hope everyone treats every mock exam as seriously as the real college entrance exam!" The teacher’s attitude was a complete reversal from before. He looked at Qin Fan with undisguised adoration.
Facing the teacher, Qin Fan just smiled with a hint of a swagger. "I didn’t think you’d all see through me. Don’t worry, I won’t pull a stunt like this on the actual college entrance exam. I wouldn’t let Qi Middle School miss out on the honor of having a perfect-score scholar. Besides, the real exam won’t let me finish every subject in one go, right? So, for the mock exam, I was just having a bit of fun."
Hearing his explanation, the homeroom teacher was stunned for a moment before a wry smile spread across his face. "As long as you understand. A perfect-score scholar... That’s not just a glorious achievement for you, one that would go down in the history of the college entrance exams, but it would also be a symbol of honor for Qi Middle School. Even we teachers could proudly boast that a perfect-score scholar was one of our students!"
"Mhm," Qin Fan replied curtly, saying nothing more.
To him, the college entrance exam was a mere formality. If it weren’t for his parents’ expectations, he’d be too lazy to even sit here. As for high scores or low scores, he couldn’t be bothered. His sights were set on Ascension Immortal, on looking down upon all mortal beings with disdain, not on wasting his time for a mere diploma.
Seeing Qin Fan’s disinterest, the teacher tactfully dropped the subject. He began handing out the exam papers and went over the common mistakes.
But while the homeroom teacher spoke with great enthusiasm, the students’ minds were elsewhere. They were completely shaken by Qin Fan.
How could Qin Fan be so capable? Could it be that he’d been faking it all this time? Pretending to be a slacker, pretending to be weak, pretending to be someone anyone could bully?
When that thought surfaced, they recalled his recent behavior, which had completely subverted his old image. A chill ran down every student’s spine.
Terrifying. Absolutely terrifying! To endure years of humiliation just to play the wolf in sheep’s clothing at the very end... just how deep and calculating was this guy?
In that moment, the eyes looking at Qin Fan were filled with awe and dread. All the labels they had placed on him—coward, wimp, loser—were instantly wiped from their minds.
If Qin Fan was a cowardly loser, then what were they?
As this thought took hold, the faces of most students in Class 7 began to burn. It was the burn of shame, the sting of having their assumptions thrown back in their faces.
Unlike the embarrassed shame on many of her classmates’ faces, Ji Yuchen’s expression was one of pure excitement. The look she turned toward Qin Fan was a fiery mix of thrill and exhilaration. She desperately wanted to run over to him and ask why he had chosen to hide his abilities for so long.
The three-plus hours of class time ended with Qin Fan still sleeping soundly on his desk. Regarding his napping, the homeroom teacher wasn’t angry at all; in fact, he was rather relieved.
For a monster like Qin Fan who can get a perfect score, what more could I possibly teach him? What could I explain? It’s better for him to sleep. He just needs to rest and keep his energy up. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"Qin Fan, class is over! Let’s go to the cafeteria and get something to eat!"
As soon as the bell rang and the teacher had left, Ji Yuchen hurried over to Qin Fan’s desk, her voice full of excitement.
"Yuchen, can we tag along and bask in the top student’s glory? Tee-hee!" a few girls who were close friends with Ji Yuchen added, following behind her.
Just as they spoke, Xu Jiayi appeared at the classroom door. She walked in boldly, made her way over to Qin Fan’s desk, and looked at Ji Yuchen. "Well, well, what’s all this about?"
"Jiayi, let me tell you something!" said a girl who used to call Qin Fan ’trash’ without a second thought. She now stood calmly beside Ji Yuchen, as if she had selectively forgotten her past behavior. "You know the mock exam a couple of days ago? The scores are out. In less than two hours—not even enough time for a single exam—Qin Fan finished all the subjects at once. Guess what he scored?"
"How much?" Xu Jiayi’s elegant eyes widened in surprise.
"1,050!" the girl declared.
"What?" Xu Jiayi was floored. "1,050?"
"In addition to Chinese, Math, and English, he took both the liberal arts and science comprehensive exams. He got a perfect score on everything, so it adds up to 1,050, right?" her friend explained again. "But there’s a catch. He deliberately reversed all his multiple-choice answers, so his official score is only a little over five hundred. But in the eyes of all our teachers, Qin Fan basically got a perfect score!"
Hearing this, Xu Jiayi’s eyes bulged in utter disbelief.
"Another time, Yuchen. It’ll be my treat," Qin Fan suddenly said, opening his eyes and standing up. He gave her a small smile and started walking out. As for Xu Jiayi and the other girls, he didn’t even spare them a glance.
"Hey—Qin Fan!" Ji Yuchen called out anxiously from behind him.
But Qin Fan didn’t answer, simply giving a dismissive wave as he left.
He leisurely strolled down the stairs and out of the school.
「Outside the school gates.」
The luxurious van was still waiting, just as it had been more than three hours ago.
